I paid close to $400 for my first hobby grade rc ( a first gen rustler vxl). RC really has come such a long way. These entry level small scale kits are genuinely quite good and have hreatly lowered the barrier to entry for this hobby

@Roadside RC Hey Troy! Can you update the Amazon link for the upgraded battery charger? The amazon link is dead, and I just ordered one of these and want the upgraded battery charger and I don't want to order the wrong thing. Thank you very much! Love your videos!

What kid would not be happy with that? I remember I couldn't get anything for under 600 dollars back in the day and I had to put it all together in kit form. Nowadays 150 dollars you can bash and have fun. Man, they don't know how lucky they have it. I would have killed for something like this as a kid.

@@RoadsideRCit’s also 3s compatible too. I have 3 Losi Baja Rey’s all metal with metal roll cages and 3 Arrma 3s Sentons that I’ve converted to all metal 4s’s and 2 Traxxas Slashes that are stock and 2 Arrma Groms that I’ve converted to 3s brushless and I just purchased 2 of these Hiboxing Trophy Trucks and about 8 MJX’s and 3 Rlaarlo’s and I have to say that I have the most fun with these Hiboxing Trophy Trucks hands down. They’re durable, fast (on 3s) and if you tune them right those rollovers and donkey kicks are a nonissue.💯💯💯👍👍👍🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

You don't have to take the screws of to remove the film, just loosen them a few turns, takes a few minutes.

Good tip! I bet the plastic rips better that way.

If it's a protective coating why would you remove it?

    • @RoadsideRC

It is only there for shipping. It is not meant to be left on.

@RoadsideRC meh logic if it protects it leave it on lol why would you not want it to continue to protect?

@@RoadsideRC nope. I just checked and it is still set up for kids. When I hit the notification Bell it says "notifications are disabled for content that is made for kids".
I'm actually surprised it's letting people comment under your videos. Usually channels set up for kids don't allow commenting or notifications. Something is screwy with your settings

We have something very close to this. Something to mention that I believe wasn't said was the issue with parts availability and support. Parts and support for overseas manufacturers are hit or miss. Let's say you do find what you need, be prepared for weeks of processing and shipping time coming from overseas. I once had a critical part go on backorder for literally 3 months from an overseas manufacturer. Needless to say, we were a bit irritated. Kind of hard as a primary vehicle and for a child. This is where local hobby shops shine. The arrma grom is only 129 and the granite only 199.. Traxxas also have budget friendly options as well. Not discouraging the purchase of these as I've mentioned, I own a few because they are fun, but be forewarned if you want to use it as your primary rc enjoyment! Thanks for sharing your opinion and review!

    • @RoadsideRC

For me, as long as I can get parts (even with a delay), I am OK.
      Bash on and have fun!

If we get enough attention other companies will make upgrade parts for it just like with scx24 crawlers.
