BE AMAZED the king who eat themselves to death is actually just a figurehead he wasn’t actually in charge. Despite that fact he choose to live the luxury life of a ruler even when he not a actually king.
My dad, in his past career as a news reporter, once met a guy who had also tried the drawbridge-jumping thing. That guy survived, obviously, but his car pretty much disintegrated when it landed on the other side and the driver ended up in the hospital with multiple broken bones. My dad asked the guy why he did it, and the guy said "cuz I'm a cool dude". My dad reminded him that he was a "cool dude" in the hospital with no car. (To be fair, God only knows if the guy was lucid or how many pain meds he was on, but he *was* the guy who thought it would be a smart idea to jump a bridge, so...)

As a kid I was fascinated with animals, and I lived in Florida close to the woods. While you’re probably expecting that I’d have a close encounter with an enormous crocodile, it’s quite the opposite. You see, my Great-Grandma, who is still alive today! Survived a car running her car over, and only needs a walker at 81 years old! Well, she has a small wood shed near her house. One day, while I was playing outside, I noticed a really small snake on it. Being the kid I was, I assumed not only that it was harmless because it was small, but that it was hungry because it was barely moving, so I found a small frog and put it in front of the snake. I’m happy to say it bit the frog instead of me, because I later identified it as a Pygmy Rattlesnake! It did catch the frog in an epic way though, the frog spun and leapt and the snake caught it by the leg!
Once a guy bought a top floor apartment ( don't know how tall the building was) and he threw a party, at the party he wanted to show his guests how strong the windows were so he took a big run up and jumped at the video, sure enough, it didn't break, but, it came out of its place and fell.. with him, he landed on top of it and died from impact. A year or so ago (2019, I believe) One of the students that recently graduated from the university I work at with a masters degree in Computer Science (so he was smart) was taking a selfie with his lady on top of a cliff... I guess they backed up or lost their balance and fell to their deaths.
Cigarette Burns - this one hits home for me, because I work at a hospital as a data admin. All too often, I see people smoking outside, including near to natal hospital next door as in wheelchairs... and all in flagrant disregard of the many signs that state no smoking within the medical campus grounds (including right outside the doors!) Apparently, people are either stupid or illiterate or both...
8:39 the bigger concern is the ladder slidding or tipping. Usually, electricity does not kill directly - falling from the ladder onto unsafe ground or from too much height after an electric shock does.
I almost lost my hair on the top of my head a couple months ago. I was cutting grape vines off of the big telephone pole wires near my house and accidentally cut into one and almost set my hair on fire. The worst part was my family lost power to half of the house. The weirdest part was that i had a dream of me doing the exact same thing I did like a year before it happened.
Well, it was kind of dumb not paying attention to where you were walking. This is how people step on deadly snakes or find themselves at the bottom of deep holes.
As one of my favorite youtubers has stated repeatedly: “Common Sense isn’t so common anymore.” (Edit) _Former_ favorite. Don't ask who, you're better off not knowing.
Actually, that particular statement has been around for at least 50 years. I very clearly remember my father saying it back in the very late 60s - very early 70s.
In London on 30th December 1952, Albert Gunter was happily going about his day job, driving the number 78 double decker bus over Tower Bridge towards Shoreditch. To his utter surprise, the road in front of him seemed to drop away. Gunter quickly realised that the Bridge was opening, and his bus was on a rising bascule. Slamming his foot down on the accelerator, Gunter managed to jump the rising bascule. He successfully reached the north side of Tower Bridge, which had not yet begun to open, getting all his 20 passengers across safely. As a precaution, all those of on board were taken to hospital. Thankfully, there was only one person injured: Gunter broke his leg. Amazingly enough, the bus, which was going at just 12 mph (19.3 km/h), was intact.
Black bayou is very close to the drawbridge in Louisiana that the Texans jumped and missed . It's about 4 or 5 miles from my house . It's factually the Intercoastal canal that they jumped . There was also an operator at the same location around the same time frame that accidentally got her jacket caught up in the cables and the details weren't clear yet she didn't leave alive nor in one piece .
More likely the guy dropped the extension lead into the water. There’s no way the phone charger would’ve killed him as the circuits between the USB socket and the wall plug are completely isolated. Even if he got shocked it would be only 5 volts DC which the human body has a high resistance for. (Thanks Thomas Eddison for electrocuting animals with high voltage AC and DC to compare the damage suffered)

I heard of a would-be thief who hid in the ceiling space of a mall in Calgary, Canada several years ago. After hours, he was crawling around and fell upside-down in between the walls of a pipe-chase in a bathroom. His body was discovered by a plumber doing maintenance.
The first “electrician “ was not an electrician. He was a communications tech. That was a communications box for phone wires. Those wires do not carry enough amperage to do anything. Also the chainsaw uses a stop bar that needs to be released for the chain to run. Not to mention that you have to push the safety switch and pull the gas trigger to make it work. I’m amazed that most people don’t know these simple things. They just assume things.
exactly right, I took a Mech class but even I know that not many people know every single little tool or trick when it comes to this, aren't you assuming right now with your comment? The first one I ever heard of, or distinctly remember, I heard on Coast to Coast A.M. with Art. It was, I believe, something that happened in 1998. It was so shocking to my OMG, this can't be, sense and sensibility tracer that it was hard to forget. It may be an urban legend. (1998) A 39-year-old Charlottesville man died Thursday in a freak accident involving his washing machine. According to police reports, Samuel Randolph Strickson was doing laundry when he tried to speed up the process. Strickson apparently tried to stuff approximately 50 pounds of laundry into his washing machine by climbing on top of the washer and attempting to force the clothing into the basin. Strickson then apparently accidentally kicked the washing machine's ON button. When the machine turned on, Strickson lost his balance and both feet went down into the machine, where they got stuck. The machine started its cycle, and Strickson, unable to free himself, started thrashing around as the machine's agitator went into gear. Strickson's head banged against a nearby shelf in the laundry room, knocking over a bottle of bleach, which poured over Strickson's face, blinding him. Forensic reports say Strickson apparently also swallowed some of the bleach. He then vomited, but was still unable to free himself. Strickson's dog, then apparently came into the laundry room. At about the same time, according to police, a large box of baking soda fell from the shelf, startling the dog, who then urinated. Urine, like vinegar, is acidic, and the chemical reaction between the urine and the baking soda resulted in "a small explosion," according to police reports. The dog, however, escaped unharmed. Strickson remained stuck in the washing machine, which eventually went into its high-speed spin cycle, spinning Strickson around at about 70 miles per hour, according to forensic experts. Strickson's head then smashed against a steel beam behind the washing machine, immediately killing him. A neighbor heard the commotion and called 911, but Strickson was pronounced dead at the scene.
I forget the exact channel (1080 or 1040 am) Coast to Coast with Art Bell was my favorite radio show and it always came on at midnight so I'd stay up listening haha
Probably not true, because washing machine should not start when the lid is not closed. It will also stop if the load is to heavy or out balance. Baking soda and acid will produce bubbles and not explosion
My nephew has earned an Honorable Mention. His sister ran out of gas on the highway near her home. My nephew brought a gas can and started to pour it in. He wanted to make sure it was going in. So what did he do? He lit his lighter and put it near the gas can. He of course lit the fumes pouring out of the tank. He almost took his girlfriend and sister along with him as they were nearby. He luckily put the fire out before it blew the tank up.
@@mementomori4840 Oh yeah. The fumes caught fire too. Luckily they got them out before they traveled down and lit the whole tank. His sister was furious for weeks.

Probably? But you're no alone

A Chinese guy that ate bat soup
Can you imagine if that guy actually lived and recovered, the realization of what he (unintentionally) had done would probably be worse than death!
It was never fully established if COVID-19 came from bats....yet.
I heard it was a woman
Mylum O'Shinn I believe the current best guess is it was in a bat, transferred to a pangolin, which someone then ate.
Son, the truth is, Wuhan China has no such bat. Some southern countries have bat that is big enough for food.
I happily accept this moments' Darwin award. It's an honor I'll remember for as long as I can.
I once saw a criminal do #1 while running from the authorities. Fortunately the authorities managed to get to him before Death did.

Cigarette Burns - this one hits home for me, because I work at a hospital as a data admin. All too often, I see people smoking outside, including near to natal hospital next door as in wheelchairs... and all in flagrant disregard of the many signs that state no smoking within the medical campus grounds (including right outside the doors!)
Apparently, people are either stupid or illiterate or both...

3:40 that episode of that show traumatized us so much..
Slipping and dying on something that happened to be a root vegetable is not dumb
When he said how old he was I didn't think it was weird anymore

Well, it was kind of dumb not paying attention to where you were walking. This is how people step on deadly snakes or find themselves at the bottom of deep holes.

I heard that, even to this very day, the world record breath holder still holds his breath.

You gotta love how we just casually watch people dying
Black bayou is very close to the drawbridge in Louisiana that the Texans jumped and missed . It's about 4 or 5 miles from my house .
It's factually the Intercoastal canal that they jumped .
There was also an operator at the same location around the same time frame that accidentally got her jacket caught up in the cables and the details weren't clear yet she didn't leave alive nor in one piece .

That phone with the evil Patrick face makes me laugh every time
At 4:45 the couple finally took that final leap in their relationship
More likely the guy dropped the extension lead into the water. There’s no way the phone charger would’ve killed him as the circuits between the USB socket and the wall plug are completely isolated. Even if he got shocked it would be only 5 volts DC which the human body has a high resistance for.
(Thanks Thomas Eddison for electrocuting animals with high voltage AC and DC to compare the damage suffered)

Well we can't knooooow everything that's why we have you to tell us ms Hermione Granger.

At least he made a clean get away.

I am officially afraid of washing machines.

Oh boy! Man used a lighter instead of a flashlight 😂
