Thanks for the mention Kurt! I got lucky and was able to get a tour through a friend of a friend who's no longer there and when I originally posted the video. Chuck E. Cheese corporate threatened that person's job unless I took it down which I did immediately and then we negotiated a re-edit which is what's in the video today. I got to see way more stuff than I was able to show in the video and there's some really amazing history up there on that third floor. Love your videos bud!

@@bloodeagle6458 I wish I knew the answer to that. But they are the way they are. Its the same reason they are requiring all their managers to destroy the animatronics before putting them in the dumsters after each knew remodel and then send then proof. Even the old wall art from the stores. Its a very sad corporate policy. I've been trying to get a tour of the Corporate HQ in Dallas for over a year but they keep putting me off :(

This was my family's go to Chuck E Cheese in the 80s. We usually went on Saturday or Sunday nights. They had animatronic Beatles (monkeys if I recall) that would sing their early hits. My parents always sat us on the 2nd floor where there was a huge animatronic Hound that was set up as the Vegas era Elvis. In the main floor was Chuck E Cheese's band. We never sat down there but I believe it was old timey/bluegrass type music.
There was a giant maze shaped like a block of cheese on the bottom floor. I think it also went to the second floor with a slide and such. I didn't go on there much because I was interested in the video games. Also a kid pulled a knife on me inside the maze 😅
The whole building had video games and foosball type games . The third floor was a bit smaller but I spent many tokens up there. It wasn't as popular because I think it stored older games. I remember the green carpet well! The pizza was pretty good and they had free refills on soda. They also serve beer so the parents were happy. Thanks for sharing a spot in my hometown! Cheers

Awesome video, I thought I'd provide a little extra information on this location.
This was the third out of fourth Pizza Time Theatres in the San Jose area, the first location being in the Town & Country Shopping Center (Now Santana Row) which opened in May of 1977, and the second being in the Blossom Hill Shopping Center which opened in December 1978. In 1981, this location opened its doors, which would be the largest Chuck E. Cheese in the United States, but not the largest ever, which was in Jeddah Saudi Arabia, that closed a few years back. The fourth location in San Jose was technically in Cupertino, but was on the city border.
2:28 The artists name is Jeff Tritel, the statue has been there since opening in 1981.
3:14 In the rightmost window, the Beagles, a Cyberamic dog-show based off The Beatles, used to perform in there. In one of the left windows, there were RC cars, backed up by the floorplans of the location that were revealed about a year ago.
4:10 That large neon-red sign came from a closed location back in the 80s. Although the location is currently unknown.
4:22 The area near the red exit door used to be the Cabaret lounge, where Dolli Dimples would sit at a piano and perform songs.
4:32 The area with the circles of light and the massive TV was where The Stage was, also known as the “Balcony Stage”, which would be swapped for a C-Stage in the 1990s, and then a 2-Stage later on. This location also had a Studio C.
4:41 The reason why this area is so large is because it used to be the Lounge, where The King, a large lion would sing.
5:31 The third floor used to be Chuck E. Cheese’s University, which included offices, a test kitchen, among other things. In the 1990s, there was artwork which featured Chuck E. Cheese characters, along with Disney characters, however Disney sent a cease-and-desist.
Some other things to note is that Cheesevention 4 was held here, a Chuck E. Cheese fandom meet up. There’s several videos online of this location which shows it in its prime, and I heavily suggest you check them out. I’d love to see a video on the Stockton Children's Museum, which has the giant statues that were in the windows when this was the Magic Village Toy Store.

Yes bro this is my home town and this was one of two Chuck E. Cheese's I would go to as a kid. This one is the one the 80's kids would call the "big" Chuck E cheese on the east side of San Jose and the other one was called the "small" Chuck E cheese on the south side of San Jose. In the 80s there was Chuck E cheese characters in all three windows with Chuck E cheese always in the middle. In the 80s the 3rd floor was open. Since there was two Chuck E cheeses you were really cool in the eyes of your friends if you got to have your birthday at the "big" Chuck E cheeses. The "small" Chuck E cheese was rad also because it had a huge 3ft deep ball pit and a thing called the Cheese Factory which was basically a fun house built into the wall inside of Chuck E cheese and it had carpeted tunnels with hot light bulbs that you had to climb through on your hands and knees that only kids could fit so if you didn't want to leave yet you could go hide in there and your parents couldn't get you out because they were too big to fit inside. The big Chuck E cheese was like a dream come true I remember as you approached on the freeway first thing you saw was 3 story High characters, it was like going to a kids fantasy dream land. Thank you for doing this video it brought back so many memories for me, I'm going to look through my photo albums now to find photos of my birthdays there. Please do another video on this one and look up the small Chuck E cheese also, it's not there anymore but you could probably find it on the internet.

People need to go out and support these places dude, and they're frickin babies after the coof. They think they'll die of the sniffles in every restaurant or mall so those places are all dying. Nathan "Dad" did a video from inside a completely empty Pizza Hut recently. You have to go to these places for them to stay open, people. Definitely would go there for the museum. In fact from your other video that one that's being gutted in California should send its memorabilia to them including the animatronics. It needs to be seen and on display. Refurbished for generation after generation. I could care less about the food and games show me the third floor. Its just being wasted and set out to rot. Preserve the memory. The cool statue is kinda awesome. This looks like the megaplex in five nights at Freddy's security breech .there should be a putt putt a go cart ect. This place is gigantic enough to do that. They could charge admission just for that. The display windows of the nostalgia is perfect. This is what us 80s/90s kids want to see. We will take our kids, our , grandkids, and so forth there. Its something that they might not have the funding to do a show all the time with the animatronics but to show a video of the making of those and the gears motherboards ect in a glass box. Its just needs to come to fruition. Please try to get us a tour or floor 3. We need that in our lives
Also if they do need to show the history of showbiz as well as some of the characters are no longer present but are available in someone's home or other restaurants now. Showbiz bought chuckeecheese so it goes to say without showbiz there wouldn't be chuckeecheese without showbiz

SF Bay Area in the house. I lived in San Jose for a while, but on the opposite side of the Santa Clara Valley, and have family there so I am very familiar with it. I know that Chuck E. Cheese very well. I am actually surprised it is still around since stuff like that has been disappearing around here.
Wasn't really a Chuck E. Cheese kid growing up. More like Bullwinkle's. There was one in Santa Clara that we used to go to every year on a family friend's birthday. And few other trips there. Too bad that place couldn't still be around. It was in a much better neighborhood too.

Wait...... Let me see if I understand this.... what is most likely the biggest CEC in the US... instead of making THIS location the last remaining location in the country that has animatronics and make it a big museum with the retro posters, signs etc... they've already taken out all the animatronics and updated the whole location?! There gonna make the one in Northridge the 'vintage' location... Sounds like they didn't think this through...

If I was CEO of Chuch E Cheese I would turn that company around in a HEARTBEAT.
All I would need is one decent location and not even a whole lotta money.
They just need to go back to the basics.
And actually move AWAY from games.
Back to animatronics, ball pits , and inflatables.
    That's all.

They need to paint everything in bright colors. Add a play structure or 3 and a two or three story slide. Ok, I'm done.
