Will and Hannibal's relationship is a highly complex one that's mostly up for interpretation. But without getting too much into it, the romantic implications you're picking up on are very much real and intentional.
They're up for interpretation on Will's side, they're pretty straightforward on Hannibal's

I honestly I agree for S 1&2 but in S 3 I think they are pretty damn obvious from both parts...some people just want to be in denial🤡 you cant deny the romantic feeling even from Wills part
Actually, they were NOT intentional this early on. Bryan Fueller did not plan this ship from the start. The chemistry was naturally there, so the audience picked up on it and THEN Bryan and Mads were like: you know what? Yeah let's make it a thing.
About Will & Hannibal relationship, I’ve read one of the actor described this (I forgot is it Mads or Hugh): “Imagine you’re the only one in the world who knows how to play chess, no one understand the game & then finally one day you met someone who brought a chessboard”…

You’re definitely not wrong picking up on some *fruity* vibes between Hannibal and Will. They’re both obsessed with eachother and don’t want to be without the other. Their feelings for eachother become more clear in s3!
It’s also important to note… Hannibal was initially fascinated with Will because he’s never met anyone that is clever enough to understand him before. He loves that Will is able to *see* him and understand him. And he wanted to see how far that could go. If he messed with Will and put him in dangerous scenarios how clever would Will be? Would he be able to work his way out of it? It’s all kind of a test to see if Will is worthy of his attention. But Will is *too* clever and figured out who Hannibal is. So Hannibal has to temporarily get Will out of the way while he comes up with something else, which is why he frames him. But yea they basically enjoy messing with each other and seeing if the other is smart enough to work it out. It’s a chess match ♟
Hannibal and Will’s relationship is so twisted and complex. Hannibal being seen for the first time definitely drives him towards Will, with both violence and a sort of diluted, murky affection. I simply adore them!
For the question at 7:20, Hannibal is INCREDIBLY queer and I’m so here for it. I don’t think they ever say exactly what his sexuality is, I think it’s more of a “he likes who he likes” situation

As I watch I get so excited that I sit here with my hand over my mouth to hold back spoilers (and I find that both hilarious and weird). No spoilers, but Hannibal's def in love with Will.
Hannibal's literal creator Bryan Fuller and the actor plays Hannibal; Mads Mikkelsen both agree that Hannibal is pansexual and is in love with Will, as you will already see in season 3. It's not a platonic relationship, It's romantic and both Will and Hannibal is queercoded by Bryan. They confirmed it in interviews, in the show and even if you look at Bryan Fuller's instagram account you will see there are posts about them that fully confirms it. I don't know how people still unaware of this. In the end of season 3, there was supposed to be a kissing scene between Hannibal and Will that later decided to cut out because Bryan didn't want to make it that obvious. After that, he said he regretted to not make them kiss multiple times.

Waited to watch all these until you finished the season. Season 2 is incredible. Some of the best TV ever produced. The cat and mouse between Hannibal and Will is so tense and we get such a deeper look into Hannibal's world.

I just came home from a stressful day to see that you uploaded this video which was an instant mood booster. Love to see that you're getting back into the second season of my favorite show and as per usual, love your reaction. The visuals are truly something else with Hannibal though my favorite aspect is still the relationships between the characters, especially with Will and Hannibal, which is the most interesting dynamic I have seen in anything so far. i don't know how to make a comment that would fully capture how i felt watching as you reacted to this episode, but there is a gif that captures it perfectly. You know the one, I think it's from Game of Thrones where the old lady is saying: "You sweet summer child." Yeah, that was me watching this video.
One of the main differences between seasons 1 and 2 is that Will was Hannibal's victim in season 1, whereas in season 2 that's no longer the case.
EDIT: forgot to mention - good for you recognizing and setting boundaries for yourself. I've been learning to do that myself and it's so difficult.

Season 2 is many people's favourite. Also mine. Mostly because how the various plot threads all come together. In season 1 that happened too in a way, little things that hinted at what Hannibal was doing (ie, planting evidence, drugging Will, making Will doubt himself, making Jack doubt Will etc) and all of that paid off in the finale, imo season 2 does the same thing sort of, but better. As in, the hints of what's going on are there, although I only spotted a lot of them retroactively.
And yes, this show is so incredibly beautifully shot. Such great imagery, amazing compositions. It's gruesome, but it looks so good!
Bedelia is such a great character, not least because she calls out Hannibal for being obsessed with Will.
No you're not projecting. Nothing about Will's ladder lean and Hannibal's staring at Will's ass for half the season was straight. The insurance guy Hannibal killed in episode 8 (or somewhere around that episode anyway) was strongly implying that Hannibal had an STI (which was rude and bigoted, hence his subsequent death), which was a small hint at Hannibal's sexuality. Bryan Fuller has said he wrote Hannibal as pan, and Will initially as straight, but he definitely saw the romantic aspects, and the show leans into them very hard. It was there in the first season, but as the show goes on it gets more and more overt.
There were so many reckoning jokes. I loved the comics where Will is on a beach with Winston, spying on Hannibal in a sandcastle while muttering reckoning, but my favourite was Hannibal who picks up a salt shaker, the cap falls off and the entire shaker empties in his soup. Will leans in from the side of the panel and says reckoning. XD

I don't think Hannibal was messing with the swabs, I think he's just very confident he hasn't ever left evidence behind.
Hannibal casually admits to killing and cannibalism in basically every episode. He can't make the hints any broader, or he'll have to do an interpretive murder dance around the dinner table. Like, oh how interesting this killer took the liver from this victim, on an unrelated note I am serving liver pate tonight.
Will was so disappointed when Beverly wasn't there as a friend or because she believed him, but because she wanted his help. poor Will. :(
Alana is well meaning, but she's also not really doubting the evidence. She fully believes Will did it. And to be fair, everyone does, because Will sounds like any killer who claims to be innocent in the face of the evidence that says otherwise. She has no reason to distrust the evidence and believe Will about Hannibal.

That's my favorite crime scene. The whole thing is meant to look like an eye, but with the green color around it, it also looks like Will's eyes (that we've stared at for all last season with those damn closeup shots). Just ugh this show I love it so much. Your reactions are the best. I wonder what you're going to think of this season and the character development.

About Hannibal's romantic feelings for Will, as of right now, I would say is more of an obsession (as Bedelia said), that's why he's is so excited to be in Will's shoes, like he wants everything Will Graham!!, but as the season, and the show goes on, that changes to a more romantic feeling, I mean as much as "romantic" and "love" can be applied to a psychopath cannibal 😅.
This episode's tableu, "the eye" is definitely one of the most stunning ones, but definitely not the craziest, disgusting one of this season😅
And about Will this season, worry not, he's (mostly) in a better place and is stronger and wants everyone knows who Hannibal is, this season have in mind that Will is no longer the lost puppy he was in s1 and is looking for a reckoning 😉

I originally watched season 1 and part of season 2 a while ago but had to stop bc well… it was a lot. But I gained new inspiration recently and I just finished rewatching season 2 and am on to season 3. I’m interested to see you take on this.
