Thank GOD I'm not the only one terrified about using a card, I just got my first card and am going shopping with my friends tomorrow and I've never used one before and didn't want to embarrass myself
For everyone who's feeling a little anxious or maybe even somewhat embarrassed. Remember, we all had to learn how to do something for the first time. You just happened to be learning how to use a debit card. I used credit cards for decades, before getting a debit card. I was in my 50's (I'm 77). So, relax, don't worry. You'll get the hang of it after a few uses. The other shoppers will empathize with you. No matter your age.
I went to walmart the other day and I've like never used my card before and the self-checkout just REFUSED to read my card using all of the 3 options so I had to be escorted to the service desk with my items and I didnt know if I'd scanned wrong or something or if it was the machine but EITHER WAY that was humiliating!

I received a pre-paid debit card from a ( class action lawsuit ) I had never used one before. Although I did know how to activate it.
