Saying that he didn't experience sexual trauma, but then described essentially being trafficked when he was 16 tells me that there is an unreliable narrator here. The story he told about Las Vegas is truly terrifying, and there are so many things that had to have gone wrong to lead to something like that for a teenager. (Such as parenting failure and grooming)

If you listen he actually contradicts himself a lot... he says one thing and then contradicts himself like about how he's not about surgery but still wants to get more surgery.
His parents aren't happy but now they are happy ? No issues but they're anxious to go out. He doesn't agree with porn but does only fans ??... he doesn't listen to the negative comments but goes on to list all the negative comments made. He's just trying to portray something he's not. He seems lovely but hopefully he can find peace. Especially the underage trauma that happened and he doesn't like the word underage. I don't think it was the word but more what happened.... would he still do this line of work if he was wealthier ? Who knows

I went to middle and high school with him. I even have a picture of us at prom, he slept over my house once because my mom and I loved him so much. He was so sweet, so funny, such a good friend. I am 63 and one thing I have learned from Mark's videos is you can't judge anyone by where they are from or what they look like--this guy was really down to earth and intelligent. I learn so much from all these "Soft White Underbelly" videos. And Mateo, I wish you the best of luck.
I totally agree! I myself used to use drugs crack cocaine and everything else, I’m still in recovery on Methadone for heroin I think that’s going to take a while but watching Marks videos I can’t believe the many people who have been abused or gone through so much with their own parents on drugs or abusing their kids just the many people who have been traumatized and being on drugs. Yeah Mark has gone all over the state’s viewing people. Amazing job Mark.
I do think people need to stop being so judgmental about other who they don’t want to except or just being racist rude mean, and Mark shows how you don’t have to abuse people just because you don’t want to like them. it is beyond my comprehension how some can believe this man is happy with his life. There is deep deep emotional issues here that are repressed as he changes his outward appearance seeking a happiness beyond reach. So much he is not telling in this video, so much hurt being hidden behind a created facade of pride.🙏

There are a lot of contradictions here.
“There was no abuse in my childhood”
“I started sex work at 16”
“I’m happy with the way I look”
“I’ve had plastic surgery head to toe and will be getting my ribs removed soon”
“I have a perfect relationship with my parents, they aren’t embarrassed of me.”
“My parents have told me they don’t like being seen with me and my father didn’t even want his side of the family to see me.”
I’m just not understanding how all of these very obvious red flags are going unseen by the majority of people in these comments. This isn’t a personal attack on Matteo, he doesn’t seem like a bad person and I truly wish him the best. I’d be more than happy to be completely wrong about this, but the constant contradictions and pathological behavior seem to indicate much deeper psychological issues (most likely trauma related) and it’s sad that he seems to be surrounded by enablers (even in this comment section). I really hope he finds peace and is able to live a healthy and truly happy life! Blind praise and enabling are not kind or compassionate. You can’t claim to love a person if you’re complicit in their self destruction.

Yeah I think there's still some time needed to come to terms with many aspects of their life
He actually repeatedly acknowledges the contradictions in his statements. What I am sensing is that he refuses to play the victim card which I find admirable, especially in this day and age.
Mateo for all the work he has had done still seems to see people as beautiful in their natural state. Seems like a very sweet person. I like how he’s not pushing plastic surgery on anyone else and is saying to stay away as long as you can. I hope he finds everything he’s seeking.

What's funny is I just saw another show with him on it and then just popped up. He had the same attitude in the other one as he does now. He's very materialistic obviously, but it doesn't seem to be judgmental of others. He just lives his life the way he wants to and that's it.
However, it is very very sad that he was trafficked at 16. All he sees now is the money. He doesn't see the damage that it's really doing or the damage that it did when he was 16 years old.

I have seen Mateo on a couple of platforms and was curious of how he dealt with daily life. But he answered the questions beautifully. He is who he is. Plain and simple. Great interview Mark.

Mark sacrifices a good and appropriate person to seem more sympathetic to the person he is interviewing. He is not genuine and so we loose some of the real information.
Have the ribs removed? The ribs are there for a reason! Ribs protect your internal organs.
These interviews are a very healthy way to exercise our ability to see issues from a different perspective. They are helping me to be less judgmental with others and myself. Thank you Mark.
I personally don't have any more than 5 minutes to waste watching the character in this video. If I wanted to see a freak show live I'll go to Melrose Ave, West Hollyweird or Sunset.

I’m 76. Quite honestly, I like this guy. I get the impression he is at peace with himself. Maybe I don’t quite understand all of it, but then again, I’m not him and he isn’t paying my bills. I think he’s comfortable with himself so we should be comfortable too. All anyone in this life wants is to be happy and at peace. I wish he well!

Mateo! We went to dinner randomly with some friends in WEHO before. You were so sweet and funny. He’s truly a sweet, humble & down to earth person. Whatever people decide to do with their bodies or in the bedroom has nothing to do with us! He taught me to never judge a book by its cover. Sending love to you 💕

Foolishly I had a preconceived notion of what I thought this interview would be like. But after watching the full thing, I really realize that I was wrong. Mateo is such a sweet guy and is so full of positivity.

I'm confused....he initially said his parents were OK with it after not talking to him for a month, then later said he and his father got in a fight over it, and his father said he was never going to show him to his family because he didn't want the family to see what kind of son he had, and not to use the family name. And that his parents had anxiety to be seen in public with him.
Though he presents as emotionally secure and stable, I think there are some deeper feelings/issues going on. I don't think someone that does this to themself and does the work he does (starting at 16...a child) is happy with their life.
In his entire life there have been ups and downs. Isn't that normal?

As far as the “timeline” goes he literally said there were some ups and downs. They didn’t speak to him initially. Then accepted him. Granted he was getting more work done as this time went on, so there were prob some fights when he came home w a new surgery. Then they found his “videos” so yes they can support, fight, support, fight. And he mentioned that was a comment his dad made DURING a fight- but he’s scheduled to go meet them in a week, meaning it’s resolved. Idk how that was hard to follow
My understanding is his parents are embarrassed and old-fashioned, but as a Mexican, unless you’re physically beating up your family and stealing from them, they will probably let you stay. It takes a lot for Mexican to kick their family out. But it sounds like he’s paying some other bills.

I've watched a video where the interviewer asked him if he's not afraid doing what he does especially if he goes to the Arab region and he responds he is prepared to die at any given moment. He isn't happy hence all this modifications and yet it doesn't work maybe apart from an instant gratification hence more and more work. Most people forget happiness is a state of mind and everything earned materially is but fleeting.

In my world I know quite a few people like Mateo. I'm so glad Mark put him on. It shows that people can be on the fringes of " normal" without having been victims as children.

I am probably the age of your parents, and I would likely be challenged to change my views on certain subjects that were informed by my generation. Your message to (younger) people to accept that others may not be able to latch on to their choices resonated with me. Why force and/or get upset with someone else for not accepting your choice? While denying them their choice...to remain in the limits of their mindset? The irony. I got so much more from your interview; but that concept stood out for me. Bravo! I wish you all the best.
Some people make no distinction between positive and negative attention. All they care about is being looked at, talked about and focused on. We all want to feel valued and some achieve it by being the center of attention, any kind of attention will do as long as it's directed at them. Imho true confidence tends to be quiet (sure of it's worth), insecurity is often loud (requires constant outside validation). It is almost like a superpower to not care what others think tho, I applaud anyone who lives their authentic life unbothered, refusing to be affected by the negative opinions of others *esp strangers or bullies*. Enjoy the attention but always remember to value oneself beyond just the physical❤.

He has some good things to say. Especially about porn, although I don’t think porn should ever be viewed.
Maybe he meant love the choices or life you live as long as you aren't hurting others. I don't agree with plastic surgery and I don't think it looks good. But people are going to get it or try whatever is the latest trend.

Loving ourselves doesn't mean we don't see room for improvement. Plastic surgery doesn't mean someone doesn't love themselves.

His addiction is definitely plastic surgery. He's a nice guy but there is some insecurities there.
You have Nostradamus eyes. We all have addictive personalities of some sort...what we spend on clothes, hair, makeup, the things we must have, how we look, and even where we go. So, not because someone is not within OUR norm, that makes them coming from trauma. It's like getting a tattoo, and years later, in maturity, you realized you made a mistake. Decisions can merely be a mistake without we putting baggage to it. Not everything has to be made into a laying on the couch situation. I take him at his word. He loves himself too much to hide. He is who he is.

I love this young man's confidence, Bravo for knowing himself and achieving, Bravo to his parents for accepting him and supporting him, and Bravo to you Mark for sharing him. Out of the many unique people in the world you interview Mateo really shines with confidence and soul.
Mateo comes across as a highly intelligent, nice person. He's very resilient. The lips are way off, like he probably can't get 'down time' from those, but each to their own. He's not harming anyone else.

I feel like Mateo is not being truthful on many accounts. He says he was not abused sexually but then tells how he was at the age of 16. Claims to not be addicted to plastic surgery, yet has had over 70 procedures and is planning more. Claims to not need assistance from others and is "fully independent. Then mentions having sugar daddies and doing sex work. Seems like a very nice person but red flags keep popping up.

Also, Mateo had his first homosexual experience at 8 years old. So he was raped before he became a sex worker, and while on the care of his parents. Yet, he said there was no abuse at home. Where were his parents while their child is being raped at 8 years old? Of course Mateo's parents allowed the abuse and are as responsible as his rapists.

My emotions run the gamut with this interview. Of course the initial shock of appearance and complete left hand, right hand as I listen. At the end, I feel a lot of compassion for him. While I don’t agree with his extreme physical choices (very dangerous at this point), he’s comfortable and confident with them, inside and out. I hope he stays safe and healthy in every way ❤.

I said this before and will say this again. True fulfillment comes from a connection with the creator. Physical things do not last and lead to emptiness. I pray Mateo taps into that connection and if he has already then Kudos to the guy!
Oh man, he made himself into a sexualized object, but for a very tiny fraction of people that may be actually attracted - beyond novelty 😢. I feel sorrow for him to think of the aging process and the future, but truly do hope he is safe and happy.

He said he has no sexual trauma but selling your body at 16 is maybe traumatic if you take some time and deal with it. However, having something bad happen doesn’t automatically mean trauma.
I think hearing stories starting off how his parents shut him out for a month while being in the house, sending to conversion camp and his first encounter didnt sound pleasant definitly sounds like trauma.
How Mateo takes the hate with humour is charming and this comment section is wholesome as is his attitude in this interview.

Your criticism is fair but we both know that many people probably troll him with vitriol and I really like how he finds a lot of the comments to be funny and witty. So much so that he shares them with friends I just thought that people who would have this much done to their body wouldn't be able to take the comments about their appearance so well.

I saw him on the tv show called ‘botched’ for the breathing issues with his ribs. He is a very smart beautiful young person, and to each their own with what people want to do with their bodies. His way of life is not hurting anyone compared to the religious psychos that are judging and trying to convert him and others. Chronic pain is a thing in my life. I never had any surgeries, but I was a semi professional ballroom dancer. Dancing with high heels, ruined my hips. I can’t imagine what these people with so many surgeries will go through in 20 years. Pain is real guys. Not to mention diseases out there.
