Hi friends! I am going to be filming and posting a daycare Q&A video soon. If anyone has any questions about working at a daycare, how to get a job, etc. just leave a comment and I'll answer it in the video ❤❤
I'm a first time mom with a year and a half year old daughter, and I'm watching these videos so I can learn how to teach her at home and it be a success.
Hi Ashley! That’s so sweet that you’re watching these videos to teach her at home💕 I have some videos about daycare and activities for children that I will be uploading soon, I hope those help!😊 I have taught mostly one to three year olds, so I hope they can be useful for you! Thank you for watching😊
I am also a toddler teacher of 10 ! With an additional teacher of course. I love my toddlers but sometimes the days can be challenging. Love to see other toddler educators!
It's nice to see some of what you guys have to do on a daily basis. I'd like to see more about your work days...I'm sure people looking to work in a daycare would too!
I also work for that company (you can tell by the classroom materials/furniture and also the tablets!) I’m a infant teacher. So interesting to see your work day/routine!
I open my center at 5am !I do bleach bottles -set up breakfast carts -close blinds -put out chairs -put out cots- check attendance sheets! My first child is there right at 5.Then iget my day in order - And greet everyone that comes in the door - Answers any questions - tuck everyone in and sit with the wiggly ones !!!!( Hoping the will go back to sleep and most of the time it works!I have anyone over the age of 3 to school age !)At 6 An infant teacher comes!!!! Then 2 7 am teachers come and lose my little ones and my school age group! Then we. Chill until 8 am breakfast and the start of the day❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ What about others let me know how you do!!!!! PEACE 🎉🎉🎉🎉
You area great teacher, Sist Rachell. Creative. In the morning you have started to prepare all fnr the kids. God bless you, Sist. Regards, Wiseman Harefa.
love this! as soon as you mentioned the screening questions & tablet along with seeing your classroom, i can tell we work for the same childcare “company” 😉- so awesome!!
I’ve been looking for a day in the life of a daycare teacher!! I also work for the same company! I’m a preschool teacher but they shut my classroom down due to low staff so now I work in Tod 2 until october. I’m not sure if it changed for you guys but I am still doing the pre planned lesson with the toddlers but when I go back to Preschool, I am able to make my own lesson plans, which i miss/so excited for! I do agree with the lessons that they make, very repetitive so I’ve just been letting the kiddos choose what they want, which is usually books and cars😊
I’m so glad you found this video❤️ I was also in Tod 2!💕 They originally had us doing our own lesson plans, then we submitted them to the education coordinator. Then they started doing the pre planned lessons where I just printed them out every week. My co-teacher and I did them for a while but noticed how repetitive they were and that the children weren’t interested. So they allowed us to make our own unofficial lesson plans. We still had to have the pre planned lessons posted and do activities from their list, but we could fill the rest of the days with activities that they were excited for and engaged with. We loved themes lol. Dino week was a big hit and we had so many great activities that met so many of the requirements and categories 🦖🦕❤️. Are you back in your preschool class now? How did you like your time with the toddlers?
Wow infant and toddler teachers rock ! How do you do all of it day after day ?🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤ !I am pre k thanks so much for what you do to prepare them for me and than the world. Love you all and have a good week ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi! That's a great question. Yes, teachers in a daycare/nursery will have to change diapers. Unless the age you are teaching are out of diapers, but you will have to assist them if they have an accident. I have worked with several different age groups and I have had to change more diapers than I could count lol, help potty train, among other things.
Yes, licensing considers that acceptable for that age group. Other schools I have worked at have had a regular individual bathroom, but since this school has a “suite” where one big room is split into two, they have a shared bathroom space. This is in the one year old room so typically we only had one maybe two kiddos in the room who were starting to potty train. So it would usually end up one at a time if anyone went in there at all.
Coming from a Bright Horizons worker. I had know idea we can film I. The classrooms!! I’m at Todd teacher as well. Are you guys making your own lesson plans or are you using the ones that are made for you. If so do you like the pre planed lessons?
Hi Kora! We used to make our own lesson plans, then submit them to our education coordinator. Then they changed things and started providing the pre planned lessons. The location I was at allowed us to make changes and still do the activities we wanted as well. To be perfectly honest, I’m not the biggest fan of the pre planned lessons. They get repetitive and the kids lost interest. As their teachers we can see first hand what the children are engaged with and what they aren’t interested in. We like to change things up so we keep the kiddos engaged and to make sure they’re learning as much as possible 💕 What are your thoughts on the pre planned lessons?
The center is associated with a hospital and is for their employees. Most of them work 12 hour shifts, so the center hours are 6:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. to allow time for their shifts and a little extra wiggle room 😊 The most common shift at the hospital seemed to be 7-7, but it just depends on their job. Not everyone had the long hours, they had the typical shifts. Not all daycares have these hours though 😊
That’s a great question! It really depends on the centers needs and it’s kind of a day by day thing. In theory, you will be with your teacher all day. But if they need people to cover another teacher’s lunch, conference, vacation, etc. they may have you do that. If your center is short staffed they may have to put you where they need you the most.
Yes, this is a fairly common shift there. Sometimes it feels like a long day, but it’s SO nice leaving at 2 🥰 You have the rest of the day to do things.
@@RachelBallard That is interesting because in my city and my daycare, according to labour law, we are not allowed to do 5 hours without a 15-30 min break. Over here if staff are doing 4 hours and we know that we won't need them later due to less children we send that staff home.

Thank you for serving children. Educating young children is hard work and everyone can't do. Again....thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! You have really helpful videos for educating young children too! Thank YOU for what you do!💚

It’s definitely a challenging role but the good days make it all worth it💕 I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I hope the munchkins give you lots of love😊

I just started my first day of work and I’m so in love
I’m so glad to hear that you love it! Congratulations! 💕
Hi...can you share your daily classroom roster?
I like to see content like this. I start next Monday 😌
Thank you so much! I'll be posting another, more detailed day in the life next week 😊
Congratulations on your new job! Let me know how you like it 😊
Do you change diapers? Are teachers supposed to do this in nurseries?
Hi! That's a great question. Yes, teachers in a daycare/nursery will have to change diapers. Unless the age you are teaching are out of diapers, but you will have to assist them if they have an accident.
I have worked with several different age groups and I have had to change more diapers than I could count lol, help potty train, among other things.
Why are the bathrooms like that? Like there is toilets in the same room how does the bathroom situation work? Cause they can see eachother
Yes, licensing considers that acceptable for that age group. Why your working time starts soooo early in the morning????

Wait so I’m being hired as a teacher assistant for toddlers, so am I really going to be w my teacher all day or am i going to be used as a floater 😭
