Someone turned the water off..
Gotta be me
Where was my head man.
Thanks for bringing it up or I would of had that thing tore apart
Go over the easy obvious stuff first
Even if it seems redundant
Thanks a ton
You’re so right Michael😊
HEY! You just saved me 89 dollars in a service call! I love youtube!! And my grrlfriend thinks I'm cool. (Her machine) Thanks again!
Thanks so much. I love it when it works😀. Please donate to the cause when you get the chance by pressing the support button below the video. Thanks again, Scott
LOVE IT! This is the second video I watched and I didn't think it would be this simple but it was. Ours was super slow and just swished it out with a tooth brush and now it's like a fire hose. Thanks MUCH!
Thank you so much never tried to do anything like this on my own. That was the problem ,and I am so grateful
I love you, right now. I got my machine running in 5 minutes thanks to this video! Thank you. 🙏
Thanks so much😊❤️
The City turned neighborhood water off to work on pipes, when turned back on a lot of sand and debri came out in the sink, then my washer would try and fill so slow, I did what you said and its fixed! Thank god no repairmen to call! Thank you so much!
Great,
Thank you
Hoping to see some sort of comment like this. Our city turned off water supply 2 weeks ago due to a winter storm and today tried to use my washer for the 1st time since. Water drizzled into the machine so slowly. Wondering if this is this issue.
Thank you!
Well I'll be darn my city turned out water off for about. 5 hrs in the middle of night few nights ago. I just now went to go wash and only got water side runs cold water side drips so slowly . Pretty sure this will fix it
I'm gonna try this tomorrow. my washer hasn't worked in about a year now. so, if this works I'll name my firstborn after you - even if it's a girl!!!
That sounds like a deal, maybe Scottina😂😂😂
Update?
@@troylepisi I tried it back then and not much improvement (maybe a 10% improvement in reality). I'm going to assume that the issue is something else. I need to have someone take a look at it when I can afford it.
@@WannaBeatle-Paul_McMichael thanks for the update.
😂😂😂 good one
thank you Scott it worked
it was great to see this video. Saved me a lot of time as I went directly to the source of the problem...clogged..and not go beyond.
Excellent, thanks Harold
It works. Thank you😊
THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!! I literally just did every step and this was the issue! I almost spent over $500 for a new washer! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I love it😊😊😊
Wow!!! You just saved me hundreds of dollars!!! Here in Texas and lost water and power for several days from the hard freeze. When things got back to normalcy, I tried washing clothes and noticed it not filling up the same. I also noticed the agitator wasn't working properly. But because of you and another video, I was able to fix both for under $10 and 15mins of my time. And I thought I was gonna have to buy a new one thinking pumps or motors were the problem. Thank you 🙏
Nice job Jeff,
Thank you for your feedback😊
Thank you so much. Very helpful. I have my machine hooked to kitchen faucet and only one hose attached to cold on back of machine but had machine setting on hot.. So it wasn't filling. Because you address a number of possible problems as you move through the video, I was able to solve my problem in Less than five minutes !!
Excellent,
Thanks so much
Useful Tips
You have to clean both of the screens in each inlet inside the washer hose inlet on the washer itself. There are two screens for each cold and hot on the washer.. One is inside the machine inlet that you can't see, and one outside the machine that you can barely see, it has a tab you pull out. Use a flashlight and look inside the inlet tube or nipple that's threaded, after you pull the first screen off you'll see it.. My inside screen was clogged bad, so I just took it out with a flathead screwdriver, and eliminated it totally. Both hoses were good, I saved some money, didn't need new hoses... All fixed.

Hi Scott- My Kenmore 800 won't start filling, and there's no sound either. Yesterday I filled its bucket full (with no clothes in it), then pushed a down comforter in, displacing water which possibly spilled over the top of the bucket and shorted something out? What do you think? Thanks!
Thanks for yuh help i will try this when I get home . I just got the washer an dryer today is made my day to a frown .
Might be something wrong with the water supply from the wall faucet.

Hi I'm not gaving probkem with the valve but it's been on a working true for the last 30 years. I am thinking if it's not broke, don't fix it. But a part of me says every time I clean the screens in the house faucets it has a ton of sediment in it. Should I check these valves now or wait until the day they give me trouble? I hVe an old Kenmore direct drive system that I truly love and never want to have to replace. Purchased New in 1987.
Very impressive 😊
I love these washers.
I would just keep cleaning the screens.

H Scott,
Need your professional opinion please ...
Just watched your YT VID on the water not flowing into the washer ... you said that unit was producing a high-pitch sound when it was set to run water into it ... but my washer is silent when I set the dial to fill it with water ... I had a repair guy here two weeks ago ... he ran a diagnostic test on it and said it needs a new chip ... but he never got back to me ... so I talked to several people about replacements parts and they said the idea of a washer needing a new chip did not make sense ... they both said it sounded like a problem with the water inlet valve ... but how would you explain the explain the silence? ... if I set my dial to SPIN, it works - you can hear the tub rotate ... your thoughts please.
Thanks much ...
That's a great video! I was wondering however, if you could put me on the right track with these symptoms: Washer fills at a snails pace, BUT if I turn garage sink on full, we can usually get it to fill. Solenoid?
Yep,
Either a dirty filter coming into the solenoid or a faulty solenoid.
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Thank you!
HELP PLS! I only have the cold water inlet hose hooked up because I dont have a hot water faucet. So the hose just hangs from the back of the washer. When it drains before the rinse cycle, water comes out of that hose thats not being used. The hose is hooked up to the washer but not to a faucet. Any fix to this?
Thank you so much!!! Key words: turn to the left!
Very good😂😂😂
My Roper Washing machine cycles back and forth between hot and cold water (1-2 minutes each) during the fill cycle when the "HOT" water setting is chosen. The result is the water in the filled tub is lukewarm at best. Does anybody know if there is a part or parts that determines the length of these cycles? I'd like to make the hot water come out longer and/or the cold come out shorter to result in true HOT water when the tub is filled. A capacitor maybe?
Wow thank you. You helped me fix something that has been not functioning properly for a week now. Turns out, my 5yr old twisted off the water for the washer

My husband cleaned the inlet filters with vinegar and an old toothbrush. Our machine is working like it's brand new now.

Thanks Jenny,
It's pretty common that those screens get clogged up and then no water.
Quick and Easy 5 minute Appliance Fixes We never had a problem until we moved to the country. It was the well water that clogged the filters.
i have full automatic Toshiba and suddenly stopped getting water from the faucet. pls help
Damn, My cold water has not worked since they fixed my well .. that was years ago. I have meant to check on RUclips to see if someone could help me with this and yet cancer and other things have gotten in the way. NOW was the time. I watched your fix.. clean the screens and WALLA works TYVM. :)
Nice job, and best of luck with your cancer treatments.
Kenmore 400 pulled the filter was dirty but still no water. Had a fella working with it today the timer was working but like it wasn't send power to have the water fill the washer. We checked that water was running because he touched something by the bucket it looked blue and water started coming out when he stopped it quit filling any ideas?
I have a top loading intellowasher 2.6 and the model number is WF-T8501-TP it's a GE part of a stacking one . could you please help me. I need to save money by doing my own repairs. I'm actually looking forward to doing this I cleaned it as suggested with CLR to no avail. I've got a question I've got a Kenmore 600 series less than a year old and the hoses are clear had a tiny bit of dirt but only the cold water is slow. The hot side runs fine. I'm about to buy new hoses eliminate that, think I'd rather staying with the older washer they clean better.
Hi Scott I have maytag top load washing machine, when position to wash it makes like humming noise but no water and position to spin or drain it works. I wander what cost ? I checked hot and cold water screens at the back was clean thanks in advance
Thank you,
Do you hear humming when it’s supposed to drain and spin?
Thanks for the video. My washer fills, but the water stops every few mins. I have to push & pull the timer knob to get it to start again. Does it constantly until it fills to the desired level. Gonna try this & hope it may help. Unless it's something else...
I would replace the fill valve assembly.
It’s pretty easy to do and they are inexpensive
My 37-year old Maytag washer was very slow to fill. Turns out the supply lines were filled with gunk. We cleared them out, the washer works as if it were brand new.
Awesome,
Thanks so much Kate
@@LunarvanaStrike49 I was shocked.
My Kenmore800 washer won’t go into start up mode(on any of the cycles). It does go into Spin mode(on all cycles) but for some reason it will not start the actual Wash cycle. Is there any chance you’ve encountered this problem before? If so could you please help me out on figuring out the problem?
Sounds like it’s having trouble sensing the load or with letting water in.
Can you send a video of the start up to my email at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
I changed the water fill with new solenoids, changed the lines, changed the lid switch with the fuse and switch.
Water fill hums, no water comes in.
Changing the nob to spin, it engages.
Should i change the assembly that has the different load choices?
Can you make sure the water supply from the wall is good and shooting out water?
Is it possible to actually replace the coil inside a wonky solenoid? I have taken mine out of Whirlpool Model 6ALSQ8000MW and have tested that one solenoid is not working. Could it be stuck and could I dissemble the set up and get inside?
+John McDonald
You can just switch the coil,
But it may have failed due to dirt stuck inside.
I have a ge washer with a top mounted pressure switch. Pushing start button activates the valves to fill for a few seconds then stop. After a couple of starts it finally works. Why??
Hi Brian,
Can you send that same question to my email at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Just did the same thing , I was able to pull my filters out and cleaned them very well . Man was they filled with crap !
Nicely done👍
i have Mytag upper filling machine like this one 110 volt and stopped filling I check the hose filters for both cold and hot but it is clean should I change the solenoid valve if yes how to do this thanks in advance .
Sounds good Sami. Are you sure the machine emptied out all the water from the last cycle?
If you put your model number in a google search with the term fill valve, you’ll see a few videos on how to replace the valve.

hey I have an issue with my top loader not filling when line is connected properly in the carribean we don't use hot and cold just the cold which really is warm 🤣 however a few days ago it stopped filling I cleaned the filter mesh and it still wouldn't fill I switched the line from cold to hot now it fills but wont fill to rinse. any ideas as to what I could try?

Mine is doing the same thing, what did you do to fix your
How long those black rubber hoses last?
Maybe 8 years. Best to replace with metal braided ones 👍
I have a whirlpool top load washer that when you put your clothes in then turn dial to regular wash it will not fill but washer starts agitation without filling. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you think the water valves on the wall are turned all the way on?
Yes got it fixed was out of time. Thanks

Hey there I'm haveing no fill issues door switch check's out fine.motor works when I checked it with cheat cord. So I filled with hose to correct water level does not spin it does nothing what can be the issue
Hi Rudy,
Think there’s something wrong with the water level sensor.
I think that the machine thinks that the washer is filled with water that might be why it won’t let new water in.
Could be that the clear plastic hose that goes between the tub and the water pressure sensor fell off
Hi! my Toshiba AW-D703VP(W) won't fill water and after 1minute it will gives an error. It doesnt have the hot and cold water inlet like the ones on the video. been trying to find ways to make it work, i even tried basic trobleshooting like if waters on/off check if the clothes were heavy but still not working please help...
+trixia mariz maglasang Sure sounds like their is some junk caught in the inlet valve.
Just unscrew the hoses that connect to the back of the washer and remove the junk caught there.
Did all the water drain fro the last cycle?
I have a portable washer and water will not fill washer but when I disconnect hose from sink water explodes out of sink. Any ideas what's wrong
So what if I’m not getting water at my valves? I went to the basement and made sure every valve was open and still can’t find the problem.. thanks in advance
My washer ge gcwn2800d only rinses and drains and spins. Can’t get it to start will this work?
That may do the trick
I ordered a new inlet valve. I'm got a LAT8426AAE maytag and after just doing a load, it wouldn't fill for the next load. Spurted a tiny bit of water and then won't fill. I am so hopefully this is the problem... Not sure what else it would be
If it isn’t a clogged water inlet valve filter, then you just need a new water inlet valve.
May I ask if your Water Inlet Valve was the culprit?
I have similar problem I believe as it just adds water for like 3 seconds and just stops.
I was thinking the Water Float Valve being defective sending a premature signal to the Inlet Valve to STOP sending water?
Thanks kindly in advance if anyone has any helpful info.
What could it be if it starts agitation off the rip?
The washer thinks it’s full of water already.
I can hear the water going into the washing machine but it seems to automatically drain because it never fills up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
+lukkee1
The drain tube is too far down into that big black tube that goes into the wall.
Try to shorten your drain hose so it only goes into the tube in the wall by 6 inches.

Time to replace the cold water valve for your washing machine
What about my washing machine going straight out the drain how can I fix that
Can you send the model number?
Hi, my machine won't draw water. It's one that can only draw water when the lid is down. I was feeling around in there today and noticed that there is a switch of some kind under the lid on the back left side. When the lid goes down theres a little lever that slips up into a spot and hits something that makes the water come on. What is this part called and how can I fix it?
Nice job,
You’re right, you need to replace the lid switch.
Do you have a video on that
I cleaned out the water screen filter , machine is still struggling to fill up?
Good time to replace the fill valve.
I have a lg top load washer model #wt4801cw. at first I got an error code of dl. I managed to fix that problem. then while attempting a tub clean cycle, the machine starts to fill then automatically stops after about 30 seconds and displays an LE error code. PLEASE HELP!!!!
+Tonja Martin
Hi Tonja,
Try this:
. ... To reset the washer, unplug it and press the Start/Pause button for five seconds before plugging it back in. The LE code can indicate that the washer has been overloaded
Washer manufacturer said they will work on an older machine but the computer type machine will need a new valve.
Could this also cause the water to keep filling and not stop?
Does it overfill or just keep filling ?
It keeps filling
Same problem as another comment, water running into washer not staying filled, drain tube siphoning issue?
Yep,
Might need to pull that tube further out of the drain in the wall so it won’t siphon
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance tried it earlier, thanks for input and response!
Hi my machine wont fill up with water when I try to do a cycle only starts humming but the spin and drain cycle works any idea what it is?
Just need a new fill valve
What about when the water comes through but it doesn't fill and doesn't wash. My washer is stuck on the wash cycle but doesn't do anything. After it pours with water it does that for a while then stops.
Can you send that same question to my email at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
I have a a Samsung front loader it’s only running on rinse a spin cycle, trouble shooting say obstruction what now…
There might be something clogging the intake screen which is right where the water hoses connect to the washing machine. If that doesn’t work then you may need to replace the water inlet valve.
I have one and it's still going very strong
They are awesome washers 😊
hi. i replaced my inlet pipe for my washing machine.however water seems to leak at the tap & does nt fill the washine machine. why is it so?.thks
Probably needs a new inlet valve.
What if the water does not stop when the washing machine is full
The small clear rubber tube located at the back right side of the tub fell off during a large load and now the washer cat since how much water is filling so it will keep filling nonstop.
Try pulling the machine away from the wall by 2 feet and leave it back against the wall at 45° and support it and then look up from underneath and push the two back on to the tub connection.
My washer fills water at the start but gradually water slows down till it eventually stops filling. I"ve cleaned the filter but the problem goes the same.
Just need a new fill valve .
What about when the water runs but just seems to drain right back out?
That's called siphoning and is caused by the washing machine drain tube being too far down into the Black ABS pipe coming out of the wall. It should only go in by 8 inches
