I am 25% Persian and this reminds me of the Iranian culture - too many similarities. Very beautiful and a hospitable country and the people appear kind, humble and hardworking. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. It brought tears to my eyes as parts of it were pretty nostalgic and homey to me. My grandparents lived and died in Iran and this video brought me memories from my last visit before they die. I am very glad we live differently, build cities differently and have different culture. It’s beautiful and just heartwarming. Saffron tea is an addiction. In my home, we mix tea leaves with dried Saffron during Fall/Winter. Mom always joke about it being the Pumpkin latte of tea 😂
Because Bukhara is mostly inhabited by Persian Tajiks. Samarkand and Bukhara are two Uzbek cities that are inhabited by ethnic Tajiks. Additionally, these countries were once a part of the Persian empire. Many foods, music, architect, other cultural elements and words in the language of Uzbekistan are Iranian influenced. Furthermore, Uzbeks have been intermixed with Iranic people so many of them are a mix of turkic and Iranic in appearance. Very good observation and comment my friend.
Pork is available in Uzbekistan, but it's mostly consumed by ethnic Russians in the form of sausage or bacon. Uzbeks don't touch the stuff, thus you won't find it in restaurants, only sometimes in hotel breakfast buffets.
I have noticed in your Uzbekistan videos that every place you have visited is so clean and beautiful! They really take pride in their cities! Something we sometimes lack here in the US!
Magical seems the perfect word for Uzbekistan, I had no idea it was such a beautiful city. The decor and the buildings...is it possible to fall in love with a place you've never been to?!
Wonderful hospitality, a rich history, now introduced to their delicious food through mikey, and special love for the mastery at the artisanal work, another jewel of Asia Minor, can never go wrong with such rich cultures, hope to see all of it with my own eyes soon, meanwhile, I live this part of the world through mikey vicariously.... love this channel..
Wow! What a video! Delicious food, beautiful sights, traditional dancing.. This video really showcased the amazing Uzbekh culture! Great job Mike Chen!
I see what Uzbekistans goverment is doing by inviting youtubers and IT is working. I have never been intrested in going to Uzbekistan but after watching Mikey series I need to go and i mean go rgiht here right now
Thanks for videos dedicated to Uzbekistan as a tourist site. I have grown up in that country, all good memories about Uzbekistan and their food is amazingly delicious.
Sugar crystals in chrysanthemum flower tea on a hot summer day in China! Oh the memories I got when seeing those sugar crystals! I loved drinking chrysanthemum tea in China when I went there in summertime and we had days of high 80’s or 90’s F or mid 30’s C and very high humidity. Surprising though how hot tea could have such a pleasant cooling effect in such warm weather... And my in-laws just couldn’t believe it when I opted for the tea as well and basically acted like a local would lol I also handled the heat a lot better than my Chinese family hehe And I’m born and raised in Sweden where summers rarely even reach 80’s, so by all means I should have struggled in Jiangsu province in May, June and July 🙄
I love how you show us the beautiful dancing, and then the camera pans back to you stuffing your face full of those pastries and looking like nothing could make u happier.
Jillian Baer yeah I know but the other vloggers don’t seem to be doing the same especially when dining which is strange as they must be creating content as well.
Yeah I agree it seems like everyone took a day off to enjoy each other and he is over there crushing food. But I come to see him get down so sucks for anyone at the table who didnt wNt to be involved, and I'm sure he asks before he starts shooting.
Mikey that greeting was absolutely amazing, when being met with delicious food, served by warm gracious people, makes the experience even more magical Thnx for taking us there...
I just had my first taste of saffron tea a couple days ago. My neighbors made a cup for me. It was like drinking a sunny flower field but like you mentioned very subtle. Was quite pleasant! Enjoyed the video!
Loving this series. I’ll never get to Uzbekistan, but your travels help me see what it’s like. Beautiful, ancient, and I can almost taste the food (I love cumin and saffron). Interesting that before Europeans came to the Americas, the rest of the world had no tomatoes or potatoes, which are both “New World” foods. Amazing how these foods spread around the world through trade, and how they’ve been integrated into so many different cuisines.
I miss that area. Had a wonderful week there years ago. I don't have much has changed but made some great friends, met many amazing people with a rich culture, and so so so much good food.
A welcome buffet when you get off the plane 😲 I love how everybody was trying to capture the moment and you were just eating away ..awesome tour Mike 👍
Mikey..your mom would be so proud of you taking full advantage of the salad course😃..everything looks so traditional and inviting. What a welcome!! You do such a good job taking us along with you on your journeys..thank you👍👍👍
The tile used on the outside of the buildings are gorgeous. I love the dome tops. that tea house was beautiful. would have loved to have just sat with some of the older people and let them tell me stories.
U can see the Uzbekistan food/tradition/culture is a mix of European/Russian and Asian but almost Mongolian or Chinese Asian....I'm fascinated now, architecture and food is pulling me there. Thanks Mike, would never have even thought to visit that country 👍
Hi Mikey, Very attention-catching video making style^^ ! One thing to mention, Uzbekistan national cuisine mostly made of beef, lamb, horse meat, and of course a variety of local river fish. A few times you mentioned pork, which is not correct. All the best in your future travels
Mikey's too adorable. ❤I love the way that he reacts to food. I can actually imagine what the food tastes like because he describes it so well. All the places he visited looked amazing I would love to go there one day. I'm hungry now from seeing all that food..😁😁

We are also asian though 😂
It is an Asian bus.
@@MikeyChenX Uzbekistan is in Asia tho...
Uzbekistan will boost there tourism 5,000 fold just because of you. I'll go there someday.
What your confusing for pork is lamb. Pork is rare in Uzbekistan as it's a Muslim country.
I admit I was confused when Mike kept saying pork it's it's a Muslim country and Pork would be very rare.
I don't think it was prok
Daradajee Yeah I was confused about that too. Makes sense now.
Pork is available in Uzbekistan, but it's mostly consumed by ethnic Russians in the form of sausage or bacon. Uzbeks don't touch the stuff, thus you won't find it in restaurants, only sometimes in hotel breakfast buffets.
I think he knew this was an muslim country I feel like he done it on purpose by calling it pork nobody is that stupid tbh
The best part is watching the guy next to Mikey as he realizes he’s in the frame

You can tell the Uzbek tourism board this worked! I now want to visit.
I have a friend from Uzbekistan, I can finally see his culture!
Gorgeous girls dancing right next to him and Mikey staring lovingly at a pastry 😂
Iconic lol
He would marry hot oil
That's how seriously he takes his business, Mikey
I love Mikey. There are all these women dancing next to him and he only has eyes for the puff pastry

The most important foods and hotels very very cheap 👌
Love this! Mikey is so sweet with the ladies! Those stairs were so narrow though. Can't imagine hauling luggage through that.

I would've just ridden on my suitcase down that stairwell 😄
Hi mikey! Uzbekistan is so beautiful. Loving the series!

Mike that second guy selling carpets sounded offended when you mentioned flying carpets 😂
Lol he was the one who brought it up first
He's thinking like, "American tourist, gotta sell this flying carpet thing" *deep sigh*
Maybe those were prayer rugs? He did seem upset.
I was half expecting Aladdin and Jasmina to appear.
Such an intriguing country. Such beautiful architecture...and the food looked wonderful as well. Thanks for taking us with you Mikey.
