I met Minnie Pearl once in Nashville at her Museum. Minnie was the nicest friendliest people I've met, she made my trip to Nashville that much better!!
I was born in 1960 & I was raised up watching Ms Mini Pearl & the Characters of Hee Haw & many other Shows. What a Lady!! 1st Class all the way. Thank You SO much. Not sad memories but very happy ones. And BTW, if you could ever find the way to visit Mr Jerry Clowers in Mississippi. I would love to see his resting place. I have so any fond Memories of Jerry. He made my entire Family laugh for years. So glad to find you here. Big Fan. Thanks for the tireless efforts in bringing the final resting places of so many Greats.
I met Minnie Pearl back in 1986 at Hershey Pa. We talked for a few minutes such a wonderful lady she had on her pink and white checked dress an of coarse her hat ❤❤❤
I did Minnie's funeral flowers on her casket.....the Magnolias came out of her front yard, I also did her husbands Henry....She was laid in a beautiful Mahogany, the Casket was closed, of course there had to be 8 different hats on stands, Henry Cannon her husband would visit Sarahs grave every week, i would sometimes catch his white Cadillac Eldorado, the house never left that era.
I was a child when i first met Minnie in the 80s and met her again when was a little older before her health went. She was a very sweet lady. She was just as funny off stage as on. Awesome video as always. I enjoy all your videos
Amazing how approachable country stars were beck then. I remember visiting Roy Clark after his concert in Connecticut. Were were quite close considering him being the star. We takked for about 10 minutes. Real nice people country entertainers.
@@robertdaly6209 todays singers wont even sign autographs. Billy walker use to play a local carnival where i live just about every yr. He remembered me every year. Never find singers like that today
Thank you very much posting this, I along with everyone who has posted loved watching her on HEE HAW. My favorite skit of hers was when she would be conducting a choir and when they were finished she would say "We're threw sangin' now". I was kind of afraid of the big black crows perched on the scarecrow though.
Howdeeeee! I loved her! I watched her on Hee Haw & Nashville Now. I guess they didn't put her stage name Minnie Pearl on her marker. Guess they didn't meant to bring too much attention to her. May she rest in peace! 🙏😔 She was awesome & hilarious! 💕 👒
In my eyes she was the best on Hee Haw. But, I’ve got the please of meeting her and seeing her many times. I will always love her because every time I saw her she remembered me and my Daddy. She shopped at Green Hills Market when my daddy worked there in the 50s. She visited him at the Veterans hospital in Nashville. Then, while I dated Kenny Rogers bus driver I saw her many times in the back of the stage. Those were the good ole days!
I remember Grandma's house and watching Hee Haw. I love that show to this day. Salute! Minnie was one of my favorite characters. When I saw her picture I heard her say in my mind 'Howdy" the way she always did. Now to make you start hearing what I am hearing: Where O where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love. You met another and ppbblltt you were gone. If you aren't smiling ear to ear now, then you ain't country. Yee Haw
Can you find Justin Tubb and his son Ernest Tubb? I grew up listening to them with my Grandma, well all the older singers I listened to with my Grandma.
Enjoyed watching her with Mr. Acuff on The Grand Ole Opry on The Nashville Network. I truly miss those days and miss TNN. It was good wholesome programming.
Good work Backroads as usual. As a family of 7 when we was kids we all gathered together and watched Hee Haw. Loved Minnie Pearl. As a kid I always wondered why she had the tag hanging from her hat. 🤣
When i was a little girl……my bus would pass her home on the way to school….my parents home was also on the same street as the late Faron Young… may they all rest in peace!! Thank you for your info!
Loved her on Hee Haw! Thank you so much for your tribute to a long forgotten lady. I wonder what happened to her hat with the price tag hanging from it?
What if Minnie Pearl is actually non other than....Little Debbie? I mean, look at Minnie Pearl and Little Debbie side by side and see similarities! Something to ponder over.
Loved her, she was a very classy educated woman when she was Sarah, then she put on her hat and dress she was Minnie. I loved the joke she had about the Robber. It goes like this: One Day a Robber was holding her up, Robber told Minnie:Give me your money, Minnie Replied: I dont got no money. So the robber frisked Minnie and he told her you really dont have any money do you? Minnie said: No I dont but if you do that again I will write you a check :). I know she went by the Motto: Love your audience and they will love you back :)
You could have shown the gravestone of Minnie's husband Henry and mentioned him. He was right beside her and a very important person in her life. I've been to that cemetery. It's beautiful there. :)
The Cannon's had no children or living relatives. When Henry passed away, without a will, their beautiful home sat empty for years as the estate went to probate. It is located next to the governors mansion in Nashville. I had an opportunity to go in the home, after the new owners spent an incredible amount of money to renovate it. According to the owner it had been neglected and not been kept up after Henry's death and probably some during his last years living there. I must say it was impressive to see. It was hard to understand how two very successful people failed to plan for their estate after their deaths. They had always given back to worthwhile causes during their lives.
The weather was the Grand Ole Opry or hee Haw that is still miss Minnie Pearl not just many Pearl y'all better get it right and show some respect and have the Miss on the front of that she was not just a common show lady she was a super excellent Superstar born many years before her time still wish she was here today love you Miss many Pearl and still listening to your
I met Minnie Pearl at the Michigan Shiawassee County Free Fair in 1965. She autographed a paper for me. She was a beautiful lady. I've met a lot of celebrities. I think Clower was the worse '86. He was having a bad day. I interned under the crook Jimmy Carter '74. My g g grandfather was captured by Shreman forces near Macon, Georgia. Eaglegards...
If this guy lived in my hometown, we would be best friends! He just seems like just a great guy to be around and somebody I would love to get to know and chat with

My husband never got to meet her, but she was his great aunt by blood.
