I love love reading your comments! Thanks for Watching True Gardeners! ALSO, True Gardener T-Shirts, Coffee Mugs, Hats, and WINE GLASSES are out!! Link: true-gardener-store.square.site
Hi Jennifer, l came back to take another walk through your beautiful awesome back yard again, to get more ideas and information on all your plants. Most of your plants are not cold hardy enough for my area.l am in 8b. but l still love to dream of one day opening the back of my house and having a beautiful tropical yard all lush and mind blowing like yours is..Thanks again for sharing it all with us. Where did you get the shades you had on your patio around the hot tub? I like that idea..l am a true gardener!!! Thanks Brice for videoing for your mama so she can share her talent with all of us…🌺🌼🌸🌻🪻🌷
You would never know that you are in a subdivision. Gorgeous. Since you enjoy the birds have you thought about a bird bath? We're in central Florida and our bird bath draws the cardinals every morning for baths, the morning doves come several times a day for a drink and various other birds stop by for a quick bath.
I am so jealous of not living where you do vs being in panhandle of Florida living in Navarre zone 8b/9a. Many of the plants you feature that I just love, especially the palms could not survive 3 days out of the year here due to fact those 3 nights we get lows of 22-25. Rest of year no problem. I grow what o can and still manage a few in pots o can roll into my garage for those nights. Anyway still love you sharing and giving great landscaping ideas
I love how you explain the beauty of each leaf... I never thought anything about sandchezia before you highlighted the beauty... and now I gotta have it!! LOL Thank you true gardener!
Your garden is absolutely spectacular!!!!! You have given me so many ideas. What a beautiful space you have created, I love to densely plant things in my garden too. Just incredible!!! I just subscribed. How I have not come across your channel before, I’ll never figure out. Silly RUclips algorithm 😂😂🩵🐛🦋
Thank you so much, Susan! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the garden and found some inspiration 😊 that means a lot to me! Welcome to the channel, and I’m so glad you found us (even if RUclips took its time!). Looking forward to sharing more ideas with you! 🌿💙😊
Definitely need a bird bath or two, and hummingbird feeder, just provide some nectar plants. Birds would appreciate the cover of all the shrubs and trees to feel safe using the bird baths so place them inset a bit in some of those densely planted areas. You’ll definitely see an increase in bird traffic with bird baths and keep them shallow for their footing. Thanks for the great videos and enjoy your tropical oasis. I’m also in a development with HOA so I’ve installed as many palms and trees as possible to provide shade and variation and visual screening of the boring white pvc privacy fences. You might consider attaching some bromeliads to your palm trunks for super interesting visual effects and please, some orchids!
Thanks for making these videos. I’ve learned so much watching them. Your garden is beautiful! I live near you actually and this gives me so many ideas.
What a lush garden. I love the shallow water feature with the little island and water flowing around it. The other day I saw a simular water feature with a mini lighthouse on the edge, looked quite charming.
Just found your site, been binge watching all your videos, and have been waiting for a new post, this was worth the wait ! Spectacular yard, great camera work too ! ! Thanks for the post and great info !!
Hi, thank you for doing these videos! As a south Florida gardener, there isn’t a lot of inspiration available to us. Question; what do you put under Tahitian gray granite to keep weeds from coming through? Also, do you think it would function well in the trash dumpster area? Thanks again😊
It’s a great compact stone so I think anywhere there is high traffic it’s going to do exceptionally well. We use a commercial weed barrier so like a nursery barrier at the bottom as long as you double up on weed matting that will help and make sure that the ground is graded, so there’s not any low spots however weeds are part of Florida aren’t they, and there’s always a need for either pulling or spraying good luck
Love your garden designs. I live up in Jacksonville in northeast Florida. You have inspired me in many ways. My garden is in Zone 9A so difficult to have everything you have as we have freezes at least a few times each winter. But I try to adapt your designs into my subtropical gardens that have reasonably good chance of surviving our occasional freezes. I do cover some of the plants during the freezes.
True Gardener! Love learning from you! Question: When you are sitting on your porch looking at your garden, what direction are you facing? Thanks! All the information you provide is invaluable for those of us trying to make it in this unique environment on our own ❤
Yes, that could work as a skirt underneath a bottle brush tree, as long as the tree provides some filtered shade from the intense sun! Sanchezia doesn't like harsh rays and needs some protection.
I love your back yard!! Bryce, too, did a wonderful filming job, as usual. His editing skills are awesome! Oh, I wanted to ask: the fountain and wall at the end of the video - is the alocasia rooted in the fountain water or is it separated somehow? Great idea!!
Hello Becky, yes so that Fountain is a leftover base from what we used in the pond out front and it had no top and elephant ears Do a wonderful job of rooting in the water so I thought when I trimmed my Alocasia back, I would incorporate it and tie it into the fountain. Walla it’s growing and very very happy. Put it a little bit of water and they will filter that water for you and look great doing it.
Oh, you caught that did you? Yes it is a bit of a slow grower so I might have to move it but yes is competing for the same spot. I absolutely love them.
Amazing!! I’m from California in a zone 9 environment, and I would love to add some tropical plants. which tropical plants do you recommend that will tolerate 100+ degree summer temps?
Love your garden… I’m in central Florida zone 10a and also live in a subdivision with way to many restrictions I’m also in full sun so need some sun loving plants that don’t grow above 6ft, any suggestions?
Hey, I've been watching you for two years now and I just got a new property as my "forever home" I really want a lush tropical wall like you have along the back of my yard. Ive wanted to reach out to you but I see you go as far up as cocoa. Im unfortunately a little north of that in Daytona Beach Shores. I know that's pretty far for you. Do you offer online consultations or landscape designs? I just truly want your expertise with placement and design. I also was wondering if you could do a video on how you control disease and pest with such a large variety and quantity of plants in your yard. Thankyou! love your stuff! If I could email you some videos and pictures of what im working with that would be great.
I’m sorry at this time i do not do remote designs. I have a wonderful crew that keeps my days incredibly busy, so it’s just not in my schedule at the moment to go outside the areas for our installations. Lol some days I’m chasing my tail. I hope you find the videos helpful in starting your project. As for the video on pests I can absolutely post something about that
Would also love a. Ideo on just palm trees. We have a small area in front of the house with lots of plants but I'd like a palm that doesn't get to high to place in the corner with a large overhang to make it shady. It's in direct sun because it is west facing.
Do Brazilian red cloaks tolerate more sun as they get older? I have some younger ones that experienced leaf burn. They’re still in a pot and I’m afraid to plant them because of it. :(
Hi @D3nnyJ352! Yes, Brazilian Red Cloaks do tend to tolerate more sun as they mature. Younger plants are more sensitive, so that leaf burn is pretty common. If you’re hesitant to plant them, try gradually acclimating them to more sunlight over time. Start with filtered light or partial shade and slowly increase their sun exposure. They should toughen up as they grow. Good luck, and I’d love to hear how they do! 🌞🌿
To get that perfect green lawn, you really need three things: good fertilizer, plenty of sunlight, and regular watering. Fertilizer gives your grass the nutrients it needs, sunlight helps it grow strong, and water keeps it all alive. If any one of these is missing, your lawn just won't look its best unfortunately
I use a commercial weed barrier under the stone. Do you wanna make sure to use one that can drain so it has small holes in it make sure the ground is graded so there’s no low spots and it does a nice job of keeping the stone compact without sinking good luck Gardener!
No mine have been climbing for a couple years now at a snails pace. I know what you mean about Pothos though I love them, but will not use them near my trees.
Love the lushness but It would never work at my house. My French bull dogs are bulldozers and would trample most the soft stuff they climb my screw pine for lizards lol
They are so beautiful however I seem to struggle with keeping them looking good. I usually pull them out or constantly cutting them back. Have you had good luck in Florida with them?
I'm living in Cape Town South Africa, and yes I do have success with them, although they can be a bit divarish 😬 with the wind, and winter they go dormant, but this winter my canna Lucifer was still flowering 🤷 and it was cold and very rainy. Although many of my other varieties hate the wet in winter. Anywu, I just thought Florida's weather is perfect for them.
Looks like a lot of hard work, but I am not picking up any birds or anything else moving in your landscape for the clips I watched. Really wish you would have used native plants as a life long Floridian I have noticed a huge dip in our native bird/wildlife populations. Please be mindful that when planting non-natives you are taking from the ecosystem and not giving back. Also it’s not enjoyable for me to be in a space where I am not entertained by the pollinators, hummingbirds, other wildlife moving around me.
I love love reading your comments! Thanks for Watching True Gardeners! ALSO, True Gardener T-Shirts, Coffee Mugs, Hats, and WINE GLASSES are out!! Link: true-gardener-store.square.site
Can you do a video about making lush tropical gardens but in a very sunny area, zone 9B in Central FL?
Hi Jennifer, l came back to take another walk through your beautiful awesome back yard again, to get more ideas and information on all your plants. Most of your plants are not cold hardy enough for my area.l am in 8b. but l still love to dream of one day opening the back of my house and having a beautiful tropical yard all lush and mind blowing like yours is..Thanks again for sharing it all with us. HI! That’s a great idea, that would definitely be so peaceful to look out and watch the birds! Now I just need to figure out where to put it!🤣
@@carolync4862 very much agree! Their side and backyard reminds me of yards in Key West sans a pool.
@robertedwardknoxveteran3569 RIGHT! Thanks for commenting!
I love this look 100% maybe if I move there I can get you to recreate it for me.
Haha thank you and absolutely. However, we only provide services on the east coast from cocoa beach area to about Jupiter
Your Tropical garden paradise is my dream. You’re such an inspiration to my gardening ❤

You're an inspiration! I also live in Florida and want to plant a garden like yours, but I have two big oaks on my property. Any advice?
Your garden has really grown since the last time we toured it! Beautiful!

I love your design style. Where did you get the mermaid figurine on the back of your pergola?
Thank you so much :) I actually got it at a local shop here in Vero Beach
That's beautiful! So lush!!! Do you do any native gardens? I'd love a native garden tour!🌿✨️
True Gardener! Love learning from you! Question: When you are sitting on your porch looking at your garden, what direction are you facing? Thanks! All the information you provide is invaluable for those of us trying to make it in this unique environment on our own ❤
Hey there I always forget to add that. I would be facing east if I were siting in my chair by the tables.
@@TrueGardener Thank you! I appreciate it 😊

Yes, that could work as a skirt underneath a bottle brush tree, as long as the tree provides some filtered shade from the intense sun! Sanchezia doesn't like harsh rays and needs some protection.
