This song was originally released on the CD/12” single for My Brave Face I believe, then it was released on the second version of Choba B CCCP to make it longer and making these recordings more available, but I can see why it didn’t make the first assembly.
Lucille is the Little Richard song.
Run Devil Run is a much more studio-oriented album than this one, it was recorded at Abbey Road as a studio product from the get-go, while CHOBA B CCCP contains literally the highlights of a two-days jam session, with very limited overdubbing.
Also on RDR there are three original numbers, while on CCCP there aren't (Although one was indeed recorded, but not included in both editions' tracklisting).
Moreover, RDR was recorded and released in 1999, more than a decade after this album 🙂
So in a sense, this one's more "live".
@@Kieop Definitely! A live-in-the-studio
the drums still sound too 80s for me
@@ricardo_miguel13 Well, yes. Another reason why I prefer Run Devil Run over CHOBA B CCCP. The sound on the Russian Album is too rough and rushed, and some bad decisions were made while recording, such as the drums sound
Run Devil Run is from late 99 and Paul's first work after Linda's passing! Dave Gilmour and Ian Paice are on RDR and it's a much better sounding album, and it rocks more overall even though their's a few slower numbers.
This album isn't really a "blues" album. It's just the music that Paul loved from the early days of his musical journey - mostly early rock n roll stuff from the 1950s.
I think it's an unofficial remaster.
Originally a Fats Domino song, went to 17 in the US in 59.
This is my favorite song on the album. Someone put a bootlegged copy of this on a cassette tape for me pretty soon after it was released for Russia. It seemed like Wheel was always on the album. I don't know. Maybe it just wasn't on the Russian version but was on the initial CD release. Edit: My CD says on the sticker that it has a bonus track not featured on the original release. I take that to mean it wasn't on the initial Russian release.
A lot of the songs on Run Devil Run were performed in the Live at the Cavern Club show. That may be why you're thinking it was recorded live.
There were two versions of the album in USSR: 11-tracks in 1988 and 13-tracks in 1989.
@@Zholobov1 Great! I'm glad they eventually got the full album.
