I went to see my dentist today - your advice helped me through the x rays, thank you! The X-ray was much easier to understand. I need a lot of work but watching your channel helped me with the anxiety and got me in the door. Thanks again!
that makes me so happy to hear you're taking care of your teeth at the dentist! thank you for telling me that! I'm actually working on a dental anxiety video that I plan to release next month! positive vibes my friend!

Hi your work is awesome! , can you help me figure this out ? Went to a dentist for my first time and she said I need deep cleaning without doing any perio charting! Is this legit ? No evidence and she said it’s only diagnosed by x Ray .🤷♂️
True comment. I'm in my staff room watching literally everything, until my university work hours start. Good explanatory skills. Are you a faculty member for dental students?
I just had my xrays and I felt so smart because I could understand everything after watching all your videos 😂♥️ Thank you, Whitney! You make dental education so much fun!
I'm not quite out of highschool yet, but I plan on becoming a dental assistant to save up for dental hygienist school, and this is honestly 1. helping me for later 2. showing me more and more about dental hygienist work and that this is legitimately something I think I would enjoy doing and 3. giving me a good example of a career choice that can grow like crazy (I have a slight hope of going from hygienist to dentist but I'm not super sure of that)
This is a great video to help people understand how to interpret radiographs. I'm a dental hygienist training to be a dental therapist and it helped me too 🙂
Nice choppers (4:12). I don't see any dental work. I wish mine were like that. One thing I kind of recognize on an x-ray is resorption. I had internal resorption in a tooth. If it's some dark blob in the middle of the tooth, it could be bad news. The tooth had to be extracted and I went through a long implant process. No matter how good you take care of your teeth, stuff like this can happen. :/
Ive had one of those tiny cavities you mentioned , almost so small that I had it for years * big fear of going to an adult dentist * and somehow never grew ! And was the quickest filling I ever had since it was super small between two back teeth
My girlfriend just spent 2 years trying to get a tooth re-done because the dentist who did her root canal and cap left decaying matter in her tooth! She kept getting infections from the decaying matter in her tooth and lump’s would appear behind her ear, on the back of her head, and her tonsils kept swelling. She kept needing antibiotics for infections and we had no idea where they were coming from! We’re pissed that this type of X-Ray would have revealed her tooth decay from the first time she complained if only anyone had thought to do this.
I love your videos! Great job. I'd just like to say that, it may be confusing to the patient to hear that radiolucency is normal, because when we are looking for endo infections etc we use this term.
totally confusing! and like I said in this video we use it lots for general dentistry showing decay! hope this video helped a little! thank you so much for watching :)
Hi! Your such an inspiration to the young generation. Thank you for sharing videos about the dentistry. I want to become a dentist assistant. However, I have fear of X-ray . I researched about what are the pros and cons about dental assistant. The first website came up on google and said “ One of the most common health hazards besides pathogens that you will be exposed to as a dental assistant is x-rays. X-Rays are harmful if you are exposed to them in large quantities. There is also a minimal chance that x-rays can cause congenital disabilities. X-rays are known to cause cancer if you are overexposed. X-Rays can damage the human reproductive cells and change DNA, making it more likely for a person to develop cancer in one of their organs.” Can you explain me more about x rays .
hi there! thank you so much for your kind words! no worries about radiation exposure - as long as you take the proper precautions (standing behind a wall or at least 6ft away) then you're all good taking them on patients all day without being exposed! here is my video more about that - hope this helps: ruclips.net/video/rbY8b0R5tkc/видео.html
So just to be clear, if you catch a cavity when it is only in the enamel it can be saved correct? Also, does this mean that if u get it filled it will stop it from decaying further toward the root?
Today I found this Chanel. I was looking for many days for understand what is in my tooth X ray. I got X ray because my dentist said to me that I has to do a root canal treatment. Is root canal treatment Hurt while it doing?
you should be numbed up prior to a root canal so it should not hurt! here is my video about root canals hope this helps: ruclips.net/video/oBGqPBDg3tw/видео.html
the patient's upper right is the first quadrant! so we always talk referring to the patient's mouth not ourselves. and the upper left while LOOKING at the xrays is actually the patient's upper right. sorry it's confusing via typing! hope this helps!
Do you need to get rid of Tori before you get dentures? Also I had one dentist tell me I needed 7 crowns and another 2nd opinion tell me they would remove them. Why the difference diagnosis?
A dentist said I needed fillings and teeth cleaning, but said my teeth were healthy. Before he could begin work, the clinic said he had a disease and would be gone indefinitely, so I was given another dentist. The other dentist looked at the same x-ray as the 1st, but said I need 3 root canals eventually crownings on these teeth. I don't know who to believe. The 1st or the 2nd?

I had a filling done about a month ago. I haven't been able to chew on that side of my mouth since the filling. Now a month later I have a swollen face. So, I just had an x-ray and it showed a small infection around the root of the tooth.. The dentist said the tooth was able to be moved a little. He said my options are extraction or root canal.
