If you have superlong hair, you could likely combine the two techniques by doing one or two wraps, pinning, and then adding the remaining length into the next bun.
I noticed, that they upgraded Rey's buns in the Rise of Skywalker. I hope you will do a tutorial about those too. Until then, I have just found your channel, my hair is long, so I need to learn your other hairstyles!
I usually have such a hard time doing anything with my hair because its so thick and frizzy but this was pretty easy! Frizz was still an issue for me but nothing that can't be handled. Thanks for the tutorial! It was super easy to follow!
This is fantastic - thank you so much! My daughter is dressing up as Rey for this year's carnival, and I'm utterly hopeless with elaborate hairdos normally - but this was so easy that now she wants to go to school like this every day, haha. Thank you!!
This is great, but do you think you can figure out how to do Leia's new hairdo in advance of the new movie? Finally, I have enough hair to cosplay the age appropriate version of one of my favorite characters. I don't even have to hide my gray "highlights" lol!
I made it in about 4 1/2 minutes and found it pretty easy, though I have to say it doesn't look that amazing it's not bad considering that I'm a guy who hasn't an idea of hairstyling.
Great video. I (father) was trying to figure out how to do Rey’s hair for my daughter. I came up with something similar to your exposed hair tie technique. But after trying the hair wrap method, it came out great for Halloween!
Just did this! I found that with my very long hair, it was much easier to go from the bottom up. So I figured out my bottom section then clipped the rest up out of the way, then repeated for the middle section and that way I didn't have the issue of the loop from above flopping down on the section I'm working on. Super easy though!
Thank you!! Can't believe it took me so long to find your channel. You've certainly got a new fan in me. And now I'll have awesome hair for The Last Jedi tonight! I wasn't sure how to do it with my long hair. You're aces. 👍
I love your star wars tutorials, and I've been looking everywhere for a tutorial on Padime's hair in Phantom menace while she is on Tatooine. Could you do a tutorial on that?
I can't wait to try this! Although I have extraordinarily fine, thin hair (and alas...not a lot of it) so I worry I may not have enough hair to pull this off. But by golly, I'll try. Thanks for putting up such a great tutorial!
Wonderful video! Could you possibly do a tutorial for Elinor Dashwood from the 1995 movie? I can't figure out the the twisty halo that she's got going on.
+Shine4Him41040 hmm, you may have trouble with the bumping around from running. Keep the buns as small as possible so they don't flop very much, and maybe forgo the bobbypins if they don't feel super secure.
I ended up adapting this one as a combination of the two methods. Basically, I've got really long hair. So when I wrapped it around the band, it made each bun look quite big, there wasn't any space between them...it was a bit annoying. The version with the band showing was fine, I didn't have any trouble with it, asides from the fact my head looks a big bulgy down the bottom because there's a long tail tucked under and of course, the band was showing. So I took a small section from each tail and used it to cover the band. Then tied the rest into the next bun. It works!
i love your videos! you taught me how to french braid, so thank you for that. would you please please pretty please with a cherry on top, do princess Leia's hairstyle in the force awakens? that crown not-braid thing?
I prefer the first style wrapped around I find it gives it more of a finishing touch but if people really wanna use the second one they could always use transparent hair ties
Hi, I'm a fan yours and love your channel. With your videos, I learn to do a lot of hair styles. Can you do it a tutorial about Tiger Lily hair slyle in new film Pan? She has a hair style with a braids bun with part of his hair free. I love you a lot if yo could do it ^^
Rey's Instagram says or did say that God's a Girl (presumably with alright hair). Rey isn't talking about AI, though, so it's both a radical view and an exotic one.
Finally, a Star Wars hairstyle I CAN replicate easily.
If you have superlong hair, you could likely combine the two techniques by doing one or two wraps, pinning, and then adding the remaining length into the next bun.
That is a really good idea!! I'm going to try it out.
This is what I did. Its super messy, but it works best. My hair goes past my waist, so its really difficult! Still wearing it tonight though!
MrsBrit1 what if u have short hair?
thank you so much my hair can go between my legs and it looked bad until I tried it your way
I noticed, that they upgraded Rey's buns in the Rise of Skywalker. I hope you will do a tutorial about those too. Until then, I have just found your channel, my hair is long, so I need to learn your other hairstyles!
I noticed that too!
I noticed that too ❤️
This was great for my kindergartener on “crazy hair day.” Jedi-style!
I'm a teacher, and doing this for crazy hair day too haha
That's so sweet!
I usually have such a hard time doing anything with my hair because its so thick and frizzy but this was pretty easy! Frizz was still an issue for me but nothing that can't be handled. Thanks for the tutorial! It was super easy to follow!
thank you! My daughter wanted Rey hair for star wars day today and this was a perfect tutorial!
THANK YOU I thought this would be hard but it’s so easy and I love it I actually really like how the hair looks wrapped around the buns
My five year old loved it. Her hair is a little shorter than shoulder length but it worked out pretty well
This is fantastic - thank you so much! My daughter is dressing up as Rey for this year's carnival, and I'm utterly hopeless with elaborate hairdos normally - but this was so easy that now she wants to go to school like this every day, haha. Thank you!!
+Jenny Dolfen People are loving these buns more than I expected! I'm glad she's so excited for it!
Thank you! Wearing this with my Rey tshirt and R2D2 shoes to the premiere tomorrow! MTFBWY!!!

Omg your Sansa Stark!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😵😵😵😵😵😵😵
Baby Lele i though the same thing
This is great, but do you think you can figure out how to do Leia's new hairdo in advance of the new movie? Finally, I have enough hair to cosplay the age appropriate version of one of my favorite characters. I don't even have to hide my gray "highlights" lol!
+C Bresna I'm working on it actually. I don't know if I'll be able to get it out before the premiere, but I'll try.
It looks awesome! Fantastic job!
I made it in about 4 1/2 minutes and found it pretty easy, though I have to say it doesn't look that amazing it's not bad considering that I'm a guy who hasn't an idea of hairstyling.
from a person from 4 years in the future, try it again now its nostalgia
Thanks! A really clear tutorial, I'll be using this hairstyle for the premiere!
The FORCE BE WITH YOU
Going as Rey to Comiccon tomorrow so will definitely try this out!
Great video. I (father) was trying to figure out how to do Rey’s hair for my daughter. I came up with something similar to your exposed hair tie technique. But after trying the hair wrap method, it came out great for Halloween!
This really was a pretty good tutorial. The hair wrap method really ties it all together, pun intended. Hope your daughter liked it!
I love the one with the hair wrap it looks like a samuraï mohawk! The more hair the better! 😘
Im dressing up as Rey tomorrow evening for the movie. Thanks so much for this post!
I JUST WATCHED IT TODAY IN CINEMAS AND IT IS AMAZING!!! Im also doing a tutorial for this hairstyle today.
Perfect! I was planing on doing Leias crown braid but since this one is much simpler I will choose this one for the premiere.
Just did this! I found that with my very long hair, it was much easier to go from the bottom up. So I figured out my bottom section then clipped the rest up out of the way, then repeated for the middle section and that way I didn't have the issue of the loop from above flopping down on the section I'm working on. Super easy though!
My first try kind of sucked, but after that it was easy 5/5 would try again lmao
Wow pretty. I'm going to do that for Halloween. I'm a big fan of Rey.
I'm not a female. I'm a male. And I watching this so I can do this to my girlfriend. Hope she's like it
Absolutely fantastic!!
Cant wait to do this for the release!
Yay!!! 1 1/2 months left till Star Wars!!!
Love it! I am going to be Ray for Halloween and needed to figure out a way to do her hair. Thanks.
Aaaaaaah I’m so happy I did this! I think it looks good but I haven’t looked in a mirror yet!
Thank you!! Can't believe it took me so long to find your channel. You've certainly got a new fan in me. And now I'll have awesome hair for The Last Jedi tonight! I wasn't sure how to do it with my long hair. You're aces. 👍
Aww thanks! I hope you have fun tonight!
It looks so easy on you and it took me 7 hair ties, some pins, frustration, reflecting on life choices and cut hair to do this
Definitely going to try it!
thank you so much! I hope my husband notices it!! lol he loves star wars!!
Can't wait to be Rey for Halloween 2016!

Hi, I wondering if you could do Padmé's hair from Phantom Menace. When she's on Tatooine.
I love your videos!
Thanks this really helped my mom and I do the Rey hair
Your hair color is very pretty.
I love your star wars tutorials, and I've been looking everywhere for a tutorial on Padime's hair in Phantom menace while she is on Tatooine. Could you do a tutorial on that?

+Sophia Rodriguez I'm planning on that one sometime!
Thank you SOOOO much I love stars wars and this tutorial helped me so much thank you again!
This is such a great tutorial! Really straight-forward, thank you :D
I can't wait to try this! Although I have extraordinarily fine, thin hair (and alas...not a lot of it) so I worry I may not have enough hair to pull this off. But by golly, I'll try. Thanks for putting up such a great tutorial!
+The Lady Nerd fine hair is more film-accurate actually :)
+The Lady Nerd I have as well, same as Daisy riley, the actress, so it will look even better with out thin hair
This is my favorite channel here in youtube. I am going to try this hairstyle, I LOVE IT
I loved ther hairdo in the movie... Now I can wear it :D
Could you do Rey in The Last Jedi? It looks fairly simple, but you're the expert. Thanks! I love your hairstyle tutorials and they help so much
This is brilliant! Thank you ~
My elastic matches my hair sooo I pick the second choice 😂

I'm glad you like it! :)
Thank you for making this video it helps me
It's my frish time I make a hairstyle like this and it's really EASY
She rlly good at hair. And my mom was having a hard time XD
Can you also do the second way with shoulder length hair with the bands exposed? Or does that work well with only long hair?
I just got my Rey costume too!!!!!! :D
Wonderful video! Could you possibly do a tutorial for Elinor Dashwood from the 1995 movie? I can't figure out the the twisty halo that she's got going on.
Regarding the indiscreet buns wrap excess hair around the binder once then put straight down and continue
How well does this hold up? I need to use this style for a half-marathon.
+Shine4Him41040 hmm, you may have trouble with the bumping around from running. Keep the buns as small as possible so they don't flop very much, and maybe forgo the bobbypins if they don't feel super secure.
thanks very useful for star wars day
I ended up adapting this one as a combination of the two methods.

So I took a small section from each tail and used it to cover the band. Then tied the rest into the next bun. It works!
I did this look for a party. It looked nice. aand I did the modified version with elastics showing,
what if you don't have the smaller ponytails? could you use bobby pins instead, my bangs are pretty short too
Tutorial was great but I’m still like whaaaaa?
I am wearing this to my basketball game tmrw lol

+roxicomepopo that's my plan! Hopefully I can do it in February.
awesome! waiting for it! thank you! :D
TY, just used this for my 8yo for Halloween and it turned out great. And I have zero hair-styling skills.
I prefer the first style wrapped around I find it gives it more of a finishing touch but if people really wanna use the second one they could always use transparent hair ties
gonna give this a go on my six year old daughter for Halloween
Hi, I'm a fan yours and love your channel. With your videos, I learn to do a lot of hair styles. Can you do it a tutorial about Tiger Lily hair slyle in new film Pan? She has a hair style with a braids bun with part of his hair free. I love you a lot if yo could do it ^^
+Darcy Lewis It's on my list!

you look so much like sophie turner!!
Thank you!
Rey's Instagram says or did say that God's a Girl (presumably with alright hair). Rey isn't talking about AI, though, so it's both a radical view and an exotic one.

Is this your real hair color??

You have beautiful ginger hair!
So much for fun and easy it took me a hour to do the first bun then my small rubber band broke so I had to undo it all
I have it short to the shoulders and only the first part came out
