For people wondering how Chinese think of Luigi, one chinese sentence sums it all since two thousands years ago "Those who carries the firewood for the masses, Should not be left to die in the wind and snow".
For people actually wondering how Chinese think of Luigi: The Chinese Communist Party (CCP), officially the Communist Party of China (CPC), is the founding and sole ruling party of the People's Republic of China (PRC). The chinese version of tiktok is douyin, Red note is more for sharing travel/food/beauty experience, but douyin is more of a everyone posts anything platform
There's a reason why we want to gatekeep xiaohongshu... It's originally intended to be used as a platform for mainly girls to share travel/makeup/outfit experience and over the years its contents have started to include more and more short videos. Chinese girls may have very different ethics and morals than Americans (esp. American men) and many of us are afraid to have too many misunderstandings that worsens the sinophobic stereotypes. Making assumptions is too easy. Plus, Chinese social media has been so isolated that it has created a different sense of humor than the rest of the world. Please keep this in mind....
Also many notes posted after the American tiktok ban are just Chinese ppl either blindlessly worshipping everything foreign or simply wanting to gain easy followers. Xiaohongshu is not the place to find just funny shorts without an established algorithm.

Jit was sitting at his desk waiting for 8 hours to post this
Well he probably scheduled it so :/
Xiao Hong Shu is not Chinese TikTok, Chinese TikTok is Douyin
Right? I was so confused with people calling it CN Tik Tok
It’s for more views I feel ashamed of American people coming on Xiao and hating on the Chinese. I miss my old content make up tutorials etc nowadays the videos are changed by ip so I lost my only connection to the Chinese
5:30
Tiktok is Chinese
why are you explaining something thats already discussed few times in the video itself
Xiaohongshu is a place that I want to protect because of all the women and girls who have learned to be so nice to each other.
Also many notes posted after the American tiktok ban are just Chinese ppl either blindlessly worshipping everything foreign or simply wanting to gain easy followers. Xiaohongshu is not the place to find just funny shorts without an established algorithm.
no literally theres always been some kind of understandment that its an isolated space for us... and now its like some american joke like
people really cant just let chinese people have chinese spaces because they want to make it their joke of the week.
@@qianmo_main no a lot of Chinese are being proud of themselves after hearing American’s student loan and living cost
20:10 well Luigi is actually well known even in South East Asia and East Asia. That’s how big of an issue it is. Most of us know corruption and corporate power when we see it. And we have all been watching the messages the US government and justice system is trying to put out there.
It's crazy. Meta is a monopoly and now they also own the government along with big pharma. We're actively being silenced and having our rights stripped away from us.
Yes Ludwig, rednote is not the Chinese tiktok, its completely different, all Americans got it wrong 😂😂
Also, yes, Chinese is a tonal language, and you said every single tone wrong in xiaohongshu😂😂 zero out of 3 correct
It's so funny seeing people calling it Chinese tiktok and have no idea what douyin is
@@xylathothIt's people stupid enough to go on a fully Chinese platform that'll censor them worse than Tiktok ever had, of course they won't even pick the right one
@xylathoth douyin can't be an American phone number I believe, also it got banned in the US because it's by bytedance.
@@Mr.mustard. Yes but that's not the point

his losss, bro
Red Note isn't the Chinese version of tiktok. Douyin is, and you would require a VPN to access it from outside of china
Nah, you don't need a vpn. You do need a chinese phone number if you want to create an account (which isn't required to browse douyin), hence why americans are using rednote instead
VPN doesn't work. Only work around is go to the country get new sim card.

I see other American and UK immigrants doing the same and it's pretty cool! You should go for it
Go for it! I would watch it

Ain't no way Americans getting annoyed for getting chinese videos on a chinese version equivalent of tiktok is diabolical 💀
diabolical crazy work omg crazy work diabolical
In germany many immigrants call companies racist, because they want you to learn and speak german.
Americans IS the internet. They move and companies and tech most follow. This app will now have to prioritize Americans in order for them to stay
@@Critter1188 I don't think Chinese apps particularly care about capturing the American audience. So much of your ability to engage with the Chinese side of the internet is gatekept behind having a Chinese number or ID - it's clear they're particularly keen on welcoming many Americans anyways. Xiaohongshu is an exception, not the rule, in allowing Americans to create accounts and actually participate
😂😂@@Critter1188
This is absolutely the best thing for china we get so much information we maybe never knew about china and they are welcoming us 💁🏼

Watching a French American watch a Chinese dude feeding his pics while a German song about Moscow plays in the background. Impressive.
Something is happening that never happened in history, Americans are learning something new

@r_1uk1 yeah that's what as soon as it gets banned means
Waiting until Tik Tok actually got banned is hilarious, this is why we love Ludwig and rednote
Red Note is only for Chinese users, there is nothing to compare. But exchanges information allow everyone to understand each other, and it is better to talk to the people themselves than to use the government media.
yes but xiaohongshu is chinese government media in a sense that only the chinese government narrative can appear on the site and all other narratives will either not get pushed by the algorithm, fail the content review system or get you downright banned. talking to the people is good, but if you really want to talk to the people you should go to china (not on a guided tour) and talk to individual locals to get a true understanding
The international equivalent of RedNote (like how TikTok is to Douyin) is Lemon8, but that was also banned as well alongside TikTok and CapCut
Bruh when the people are spewing the gov media it isn't really much better. Most of the "hi tt refugees" posts are deffo inspired by the gov

the fact you dropped this right aftereveryone got kicked off tiktok is such a genius move, bravo
This is their first time sharing an app with the world, so they say, "Hi, TikTok refuge," because that's what you've chosen to call yourselves. This will only last a few weeks, and then you'll either stay or move on. You're not cringe, you're just being a bit of a jerk. Can you just believe there is nice people out there that are happy to see you guys. I am not sure why they like you so much. Many nice American take it for what it is a nice interaction with people from a country they have been told to hate. You prefere to make hate video, and calling people cringe.
That's also what I want to say. To be honest "refugee" is not a very common or simple word for Chinese. They call Americans this way because it is the way Americans called themselves... Consider if a lot of Chinese came to you and joked that they are 难民, and you just copy the same title when calling them, can I say you offend them?
he probably thought it was a serious term in relation to what he did... aka just downloading an app lol
it’s not that serious calm down 😭😭

22:45 nah those aren’t comments. They have a banner comment feature separate from comments
in 2019, there was a Twitter account that only posted Chinese TikTok content. i loved following this account and watching Chinese tiktoks. at least back then, they had a cute sense of humor that suited me. it was always calmer, silly, but healthy content. later, when tiktok explod3d in the west, I just saw that here in the West, the most engaging content is the most appealing. i've never had a western tiktok and I don't even want to.
I lost the plot of this comment can I inquire what this means?
They’re saying the Chinese TikTok suited them more than western TikTok. But can’t you just reread the question again?
Reread what question? I was mostly confused at the “most engaging content is the most appealing” which is true and I think trying to find a more complicated meaning in that caused me to have errors. I js wanted some clarification
i get what you mean, i prefer theirs too, and if i had to choose similar platform that is not chinese user majority then i would pick youtube. And youtube actually has tonnes of chinese tiktok videos that is being reposted by some random account.
I think it’s really funny how TikTok wasn’t even banned for a full day
xiaohongshu feels better for me since my fyp is makeup+skincare, fashion, asmr, travel and the comments are way more wholesome! i def feel that it's more women dominated which is rly nice after trying reels, shorts, etc. the makeup and fashion EATS on there and im so glad i found the app even if it's not an exact equivalent to tiktok :)

No, Red Note was originally a social and shopping app designed for female users, featuring mainly images and text. 80% of its users are women, and it has a lot of high-quality content. You still haven't learned to use it correctly. It wasn't originally a Chinese version of TikTok, but in 2023-2024, more and more TikTok users from China have flocked in, and there are also more and more men, resulting in a lot of boring short video content. Just like many American TikTok refugees are not welcome, we don't want Xiaohongshu to eventually become another TikTok.
