As usual i like your videos, very informative for both beginners and trainees. I would like to see a video about how to set up a new tool, tool data, to avoid cutting deep with a tool that cannot go deep. Many who don't know the correct way just put in 0.
My old T3 control will not throw up an alarm if the tool is too short to make the cut. See my video on bar pulling. I forgot to describe the length of the part off tool correctly and you can see a short tool plunging into the work piece. Someone commented about it. I didn't even notice it.
I ran a t2 mazak for 10 years and never knew how to use tps. Think the t1 controls had same too. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Thanks for the video.
thanks, your videos are helpful, im an apprentice in a small company and the only tradesman who use to run the machines left so ive got alot to learn and theres alot of little bits and pieces im missing so thank you.
this is so handy my smart 300 has this is great just be careful I broke a carbide 1 x 12 bore bar in a bore my fault so be sure what you doing big deep bore incerts wear out have to change tps 123
Hello and thanks for all your help! Do you have a video on the TPC button? An area I am struggling with. I have. T32-3 control and a T-Plus control. Thanks Phil!
Just a warning, when you rapid straight down onto the job, you have a chance of rapiding into the job if your previous insert was heavily worn. I like to move away in both directions, and on my mazaks they will feed down on the hypotenuse of the x and z movements.
For sub note reference would you be willing to list machine/controller specs in video summery? Machine: Series? Controller: T2, T3, Other? Very informative video btw. As most of this content can be used Controller to Controller with slight variations in user interface/controls seen in later models of Mazak's turning machines.
Can you use TPS a few passes back. Just by pressing feed hold, handle, move X.200 away from cutting surface, then TPS, move Z.100 back, then TPS and X and Z again then a insert change. Will the machine let you restart the cycle in the middle of the canned cycle a few passes from the cutting surface.
Hello Phil. I was reviewing your TPS button video and am wanting to try this on our Mazak 350 II as I have never done this yet. I am sure it it probably different on a newer machine vs the old but similar in ways too. I would like to ask however if the turret can be rotated to access an upside down held tool during this TPS movement cycle? Your example shows the insert side up and easy to access. Many times our tools are upside down and can't see the screw untless the turret is rotated to get to them and then return to the cutting tool position desired. Can you please advise on this as I am interested in knowing more.
I just tested it. The machine will allow you to index the turret and change the insert, but you must return the turret to the original tool before hitting cycle start otherwise the machine will alarm out.
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 Excellent. That would be what I was looking for if the machine will release the cutting cycle enough to rotate the turret away from what it recognizes as active to change an insert then go back to where it was like it was never rotated. Very good. Thank you. These videos are extremely helpful. Thank you!

Unfortunately my machine is too old. TPC came out on the T32 control like you have.
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 thanks for getting back to me. I love these old Mazak’s thanks to your coaching :) now I need a mill :)

Just set your tool to stop .1 from your work face. Never on 0
Thank you wish you health success

Cómo puedo comunicar el PC con la máquina?
do ¥ou know TPC ? ? how to change it? what about a video on machine and user parameters?
My old controller does not have TPC function.
Thanks alot
Is there any way to approach to the workpiece more gently instead of G00ing
Not really. You can turn down the rapid override then turn it up when it starts feeding.

No. The TPS will bring the cutting tool back to where the machine was stopped.
OD Threading mazatrol 25x1.5 length 29.0mm
it's essentially a save state. TPS allows you to "load" your game.
thanks mister

Phill how do you use the tool pack clearance function on a mazak 640t fusion lathe
I've never heard of that term before.
Phil, how to reduce chattering?
Use a smaller nose radius tool, lower depth of cut, etc.
For Nexus 645 qtn

hi,
i have a machine mazatrol cam-T2 in german language..plz tell me how to change language in English..
can I request Mazatrol T33-2 tutorials for wheel reprofiling of mazak
Not sure what you mean.
Please show how to copy unit, program, program sequence in same program as well as in different program
Thanks for the suggestion.
Can this function be used on eia/iso programs?
No. Just Mazatrol programs.
When you change the insert you have to touch the tool off again on the tool eye .
Not for a roughing tool.
Your a butcher!
That i am looking for
Can this be used in single process mode as well as auto?
Yes, you just need to go back to single process after changing the insert.
