You should have done this trip in 2013, which was the 100th Anniversary of the Lincoln Highway. I did and it was great, I am from Lancaster County, PA, my Daughter graduated from Gettysburg College in 2000.

I live 160 miles west of Gettysburg. Route 30 runs through my PA hometown. More close to WV panhandle than Gettysburg. Spring is best time to tour around all that cement.

Very cool, you would love Gettysburg, I only live 60 miles east of there and have been there many times. I haven't been to Shiloh or Vicksburg, but last Spring we went to Ft. Fisher, NC, my 3X Greatgrandfather died there on the Union second campaign on the Fort, January 15, 1865. We also traveled to Ft. Sumpter, really fascinating as well.

I have been to Ireland and it is lovely, even been to Clones. I am from Lancaster County, PA. Did you like SC? My Husband and I drove to Charleston last year on vacation. Did you get out to Ft. Sumpter?

Russ!!! I just got back last night from my trip across America equipment and I was looking on the TV and I see you were in Pennsylvania that's so awesome. I was just watching your West Virginia Highway 52 with my wife and you would said look at all the trees that is funny because on my trip when I started out west I was like where's all the trees. Watching your channel has inspired me to make my trip across America since my stroke last year for US Highways this was the first time I was ever west of Pennsylvania. I was blown away by how beautiful our country is the series will have 37 videos 2 videos a week Monday and Thursday. I believe number 14 is this Thursday. I got out to Quartzsite but everybody was gone LOL

I enjoyed your video. I never got to Gettysburg, but your detail is terrific, thanks. I live in Somerset County and am quite familiar with the section of Route 30 @ the current entrance for the Flight 93 Memorial. At 1:27:36, you mentioned that "I guess that this was all farm land here." For any future videos that you might do of the area, this was the entrance to a strip mine. It was after 9/11 that this entrance was closed off and the mine decommissioned.

Very nice video! Retired reenactor in both "Gettysburg" and "Gods and Generals". Been to Gettysburg hundreds of times. The cannonball in the ice cream store is not original; it was placed there sometime after as a tourist attraction. There are many actual ones in the town, but unfortunately, this is not one of them. Again, excellent video.

The video of the Gettysburg Museum was very visible, it probably looked darker through your camera? It was a great trip between the building Lincoln stayed in and all of the guns and artifacts of that war. The most haunting, though, was the Flight 93 Memorial. And that Tower of Voices was something else. Very sad. Thanks for sharing this with your viewers.

Initially, you turned around too quick. Also, this must be an old video. The Tour Center on the Baltimore Pike is no longer there (just removed recently) and your video showed it untouched. I am surprised there is no one at the entrance to the main part of the museum. I have never not seen anyone standing there. I go here every year on vacation but I also drive up there when I am bored on a weekend now and again. You didn't see Sallie Jarrett!
Did you know the Lincoln Highway goes East to West from one coast to the next?

Wonder how many cannons there are & who is in charge of their upkeep. The grounds are well manicured. What a blessing to have the officer point out the cannonball 😮 My grandmother explained to me the homes have no driveways and the narrow roads had "thank you ma'am" to give the horses pulling heavy wagons a flat area to rest while traversing a hill. I remember shopping at the 5 & 10 cent store with wooden floors in Bangor PA. 🙏🙏💕

I don't know if you knew to stop at the Quecreek Mine rescue site is just a few miles west of the Flight 93 Memorial also along the Lincoln Hwy. It was very interesting, located on a farm and made national news for days at the rescue site for trapped coal miners about 2010 or so. The little museum there has many artifacts from the mine rescue including the actual cage they rescued the miners with. That cage was actually sent to S.A. to Chile I believe when they had trapped miners as well, that particular cage was not able to be used in Chile, but was sent back to Pennsylvania.

We are wondering about your narration. My argument is that it would be more work to go back and add it in later. You’d have to remember the little nuances you talk about. My roommate says you add the voice in after recording. He says you hardly sound winded walking up hills and that your breathing is not on the recording. So, which is it? Do you record your voice narration as you go, or do you add it in post-production?
