If you’re not from NYC, Yonkers, white plains, you won’t know what that last scene with the fire hydrants means to a kid growing up in the city during the summer time. Dang this song takes me back. Now I made it in life, got out the hood became an attorney, got married, had kids then became a stay at home mom, saw the world with my family and these memories seem like a life time away. Love to all the real ones! ❤

People were on top of cars, it was females everywhere, of course there was some gunshots and it was just crazy. Tracy Lee performed The Theme at the park and after that X's music was just bangin everywhere.RIP to the dog!

I was born 88 and was only a child when this dropped. I was blessed with older brothers who understood the value of hip hop. When i hear this song and other songs from the era it brings sadness. It makes me miss the moments I've had the good and bad. Along with the sadness, a smile because i know how far I've come. Cant go backwards so i go forward with the love and memories something i will never forget.

It was summer of 1998: I was 14 years old just about to enter high school in Norfolk, Virginia. I was full of angst and nervousness that whole summer about the transition to being a Freshman. Like many teenagers back then, we had TRL and BET on the TV every afternoon to catch the latest music videos while our parents were gone all day at work. When this video hit rotation I immediately became a fan of DMX. I remember wishing I was as cool as DMX, cruising around Brooklyn in an S-Class Benz, wearing Tims & looking fresh, hitting on the fine hunnies, and spitting that fire. RIP, DMX, and thanks for the memories.

He is my motivation, I'm all that he has, I live for taking care of myself and him now. People touch us in different ways everyday and can change us. May God bless you and your son. I put my mama through a lot of pain with my addiction, and I am thankful that she got to see me clean before she passed, she died in a car accident 2 years ago, and I got full custody of my son 4 days later. That was a sign from God, I miss her everyday.
