It was summer of 1998: I was 14 years old just about to enter high school in Norfolk, Virginia. I was full of angst and nervousness that whole summer about the transition to being a Freshman. Like many teenagers back then, we had TRL and BET on the TV every afternoon to catch the latest music videos while our parents were gone all day at work. When this video hit rotation I immediately became a fan of DMX. I remember wishing I was as cool as DMX, cruising around Brooklyn in an S-Class Benz, wearing Tims & looking fresh, hitting on the fine hunnies, and spitting that fire. RIP, DMX, and thanks for the memories.

My condolences Mekhei♥️♥️. Your uncle was all around REAL! The life he had growing up is similar to a lot of Black men. I know he has touched a lot of Black men by sharing his story. He also made an impact on people and the world.

These kids will never know how FINE DMX was back then. My teenage crush. RIP, to a beautiful soul.
Girl yessssss omg 😍😍😍
Same. He was definitely sexy with his new style of gangster music, this song and “What they really want” were my favourite songs that he did for us ladies. ❤️🥰 R.I.P. Earl, you made high school a blast 🙃
He was soooooo fine
Yup!! My favorite when he came up and still. I love this video and song! It's a song for the ladies to love guys to sing. love his voice in this one. The outfits was so my Era #Miami97'

that's why I like watching them
@@aGwEENapple If I didn't know any better I'd say "How's It Goin Down" and Method Man's "Make Up To Break Up" could have prequels for DMX and Method Man's characters in "Belly".

They don’t make them this real anymore. This song is a vibe and if you grew up on this then you know how hard it hits
ruclips.net/video/9m-3R2XtOwo/видео.html
On god they don’t 💯
They definitely don’t
My favorite DMX song. Reminds me of some good times as kid. I was in a group home in Sacramento. We were in Old Sac by the river and this song was playing and it was a vibe for real.
Fucking banger then and now
At this time DMX was bigger than Jay Z.
*****damn this one hurt. RIP Dawg*****
robert lewis they was both equally big didn't jay z drop hardknock life and sold 5 mill off it. Wasn't that his most commercial hit. This was around 98 when dmx dropped 2 albums and jay dropped hardknock life
Dmx was more successful than jay z and clearly the better rapper than jay z
IN MY WORLD... "" HE STILL IS & ALWAYS WILL BE!!!! I DEFINATELY CAN'T STAND " CAMEL-FACE ". JAYZ...Uggg. > PERIODT>. I SIMPLY LOVE & ADORE MY " SPIRITUAL-SON < DMX. "" YAH'S " BLESSINGS. N. FAVOR ON HIM & HIS SEED, ALWAYS. N FOREVER!!!
Juanye Ward jay z is more successful and better then dmx
Jay-Z only got bigger then x because he sold his soul he also destroyed x's career by doing that fuck shit he did pushing Dmx albums back when he was president at Def jam
It’s hard to watch these DMX classics without shedding a tear 😢

Same here....in HS...trying to be cool and approach a chick i had a crush on like he did in this video

DMX is the "Mike Tyson" of rappers. One of the hardest hitters and Greats but didn't get the respect he deserved because of his personal problems.
Wow such a great analogy. Never thought of him like this but it’s perfect.
