    I choose not to drive fast for conditions, I choose not to split lanes over 20 mph, I assume I am invisible to others. I am of old age and am loving it.

      Me too. Riding for 50+ years, and have only had a couple of "close ones", but since I wasn't riding like an asshole, I easily avoided them.

      That's exactly why I'm still riding accident free at 55. I ride with the attitude I'm in the blind spot of every car ahead behind and beside me and I have to look out for them because they're not looking out for me. And the road has never been my personal race track whatever the conditions. I'll ride to my grave.
      Of course I'm touching wood as I say this.

      I try to explain this to people. When your smart and defensively ride. You chances of being in an accident on a bike begins to look at lot more like the chance of being in a car.

      Yes- truck was already in motion by the time the bike came into the truckers' view. Excessive speed and lack of inclination or skill to brake prevented the biker from staying in the travel lane.

      @@slimfit767 Eventually you'll be saying different. I really hope not, but it will happen, and I pray that it's only minor. 13 years of driving and then bam, first crash, driver pulls out on me and I was saying to friends "never crashed in 13 years" etc etc etc

      @@slimfit767 My job is 10min away by bike. I always wear full gear. Last time a car rammed me when I was stopped on a red light. Without that gear I would have gotten injured much worse. Always wear full gear!

    Old biker (on & off road) who still rides, here.
    99.99% of these knuckleheads put THEMSELVES into these incredibly dangerous situations.
    The overwhelming majority of mature/experienced riders saw most of these situations happening a mile in advance.
    When you roll that throttle back, you’re also rolling back your life expectancy.
    Slow it down on the road(!), and if you enjoy running fast, TAKE IT TO THE TRACK.

      Rev bombing is nothing more that validating someone is an immature rider.
      I swapped out my stockie horn with an air horn.
      Scares the living SHYT out of them when they think they just pulled out in front of a locomotive! 😂😎

I understand rev bombing for the purpose of, "it is louder than the horn", but people do it for too long and have so little control of their motorcycle while doing it. A simple WAAAH BA BA should be enough to get someone's attention if you really just mean to use it as a substitute for a louder horn. Then again, all of those other options are terrible compared to making people think they're about to get turned into chunky salsa by a train.

      yes. people need to stop slamming brakes and rev-bombing. instead you should progressively brake and or swerve instead, as well as HONK instead of rev bombing. drivers are trained to listen and look out for honking sounds, not engines.

    01:44 - 160kph/100mph...coming up on a corner, not a damned track!
    02:22 - Passes on a solid line, high rate of speed on a blind corner...get the meat wagon and donor card ready for this one.

      Speed limit 120, my speed 160, yes is speeding, but the corner isn’t sharp. Would’ve had 0 issues taking the corner or doing the weave had the Tesla either A: used his blinker properly, you don’t turn your car the millisecond you put the blinker on, by law it’s at least 3 blinks/3 seconds.
      Or B: used common sense, a motorcycle is coming up at you quickly, in the middle of the lane, don’t make a last second turn while you clearly see them doing it.

      @@CanadianR1M would've been a very minimal risk of a collision if you either A: stuck to the speed limit, it's there for a reason or B: didn't try to overtake on the right side of a car you know is likely to turn right

      For one it’s not that hard to look behind you and see if there is a bike behind you I drive cars trucks and bikes. I always check for other bikers and also dude doing “160” that’s in kph not mph like us Americans all those bikes are Japanese made so there for they use the metric system not imperial

    These compilation videos give me so much confidence for the road and really disprove all the people saying that it's THAT dangerous. Almost everyone in almost every compilation video is at least partially if not fully at fault because of high speed and inattentiveness

      As much as I'd like to agree with you, unfortunately they do. It happened to me at a track day a few weeks ago on a modern BMW. I was swearing at the idiot whose plastics were lying all over the circuit and I felt sorry for him. At the end of the day when I was getting ready to go home, I noticed the small headlamp fairing was missing off my bike, but the screw and tab were still in place. It was me I was swearing about. 🤪

      That was 50/50 both their faults. Maybe 60/40 or 75/25 because the biker was speeding. But both improperly changed lanes.

      I don't know how you call "interfile" in your country.
      Wrong move. I ride every day, rain or shine. More experience than you and unfortunately I see far too many bikers who make huge errors of judgement and risk their lives unnecessarily.
      On a motorcycle, you need to anticipate more than in a car.
      I'd like to remind you that in the case of this video, inter-vehicle passing (in France at any rate) is not authorized, so overtaking on the right is forbidden.

      Yeah but they have a "gopro" installed which says everyone they are "pro" now...cause then they have the means necessary to show the world instantly how "pro" they are and how to blame all the others around them for not just freeing the road instantly when mr/mrs "gopro" shows up with only skillset of revbombing and overspeeding.     THE amount of biker using clutch before even coming to a stop is insane ; NO WONDER youre getting into accidents ; STOP SQUEEZING CLUTCH the moment you hit the brakes; NEVER even touch the clutch until you absolutely need to just before youre about to stop ;

    I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by how many of the riders actually used their brakes instead of revving or blasting the horn.
    I wish that was the standard.

    Bike fairings don't break off from wind. Your fairings were broken, you attached them with some bullshit that wasn't going to work, and holy shit was that a long slide. Being pinned under the bike so that it's sliding on you is a worst case scenario, and you were wearing what looks like running pants and sneakers.

    I believe that major factor in increased number of motorcycle accidents over the years is that more and more drivers are clueless in traffic, and licenses are being given to undeserving people.

      @@larrymelling2315 while the original incident certainly wasn't James' fault his reaction was dumb to say the least. There was no need to chase down and confront the driver with some dangerous riding. All James needed to do was to submit the original footage to the police, done and dusted. Instead he chose to compromise his case with his own inappropriate reaction and riding.

    You guys have no idea what it means to drive in Italy. 90% of this video is considered very normal in Italy and we don't even pay attention to it anymore. For example, at minute 9:10 it's something so normal here in Italy that I started laughing because it seemed absurd for me to see it on video. Driving in Palermo (Sicily) means risking your life 90% of the time you ride a bike because motorists don't care about motorcyclists

    I just started riding and it's scary enough just getting used to handling the bike, but riding around all the idiots on the road is terrifying. I have no intention of ever riding without gear or doing any stunts.

    2:30 anyone doing over 100mph is at fault. Guy in truck didnt see crap, pulled out, and suddenly because of the riders extreme speed, the situation occurred.
    Plus they cringe bombed, so that makes them a crap rider by default.

    0:15 May be slow down when going down a narrow lane with limited visibility? Especially when there is some kind of stop/priority line at the end? (Note the car had the same line and was slowly crawling through the junction)
    1:45 Undertaking the Tesla at what I suspect is at least 1.5x more likely 2x the speed limit in exactly the place where any overtaking car would return to the running lane. Very clever move.....
    2:23 speed limit sigh says 70, biker accelerates to more than twice that. Not entirely familiar with American road markings, but I believe a solid line means no overtaking? Trucker has no chance to see the speeding biker coming round the bend
    5:10 I very much doubt that road is a 50 or 60 speed limit, my guess would be a 30, at best 40. So yet another speeding biker
    8:15 going a bit hot into that parking space, especially with those stones/cobbles?

      If you aim in front of the encroaching vehicle then the driver never sees you and keeps going blocking your intended escape path.
      If you aim behind the encroaching vehicle then the driver sees you and stops blocking your intended escape path.

      @@oldjeep That is only a worry if the idiot is cutting off both lanes at once. Otherwise aiming for the back gets you a sudden stop against the center of the car or thrown into the trees alongside the road which can't dodge.

    0:18 the ground markings mean that the right side traffic lane has priority, so the rider is 100% at fault here.
