@@milinddixit6583 Wrong. You could walk past an 8V RS3 and not even notice it. The stupid pop up screen inside and dated interior did it no favours, as well as the flawed driving position. It handled like a bar of soap and the brakes weren't that great when you leant on them I owned one for two year. I now have the 8Y RS3 and wow, just wow. Looks wise, in another league, it gets so many heads turning, never had that with the last car. It's way better to drive and at last, you can get comfortable in it. Tech wise it's a big step up and no more stupid pop up screen. I've ceramics on mine and the full carbon exterior pack, it's awesome. Anyone who thinks the previous generation was better is either dumb or trying to kid themselves, usually because they can't afford the new car. Probably haven't driven one as well.

I reckon (and I have no fact to base this on) that Audi have to nerf the S3 a bit because of the RS3 - especially 0 to 60 which is what most people look at. Where the Golf R doesn't have that constraint.
It’s not much quicker to 100 than my 2015 S3 sedan, however the mid-range (100-200) is significantly quicker and most likely due to the improved Haldex system. It would pull away from my S3 with ease there.
Audi back at it again with the over-styling 😮💨 The 8V was the best looking imo, I'd even argue that the 8V pre-facelift looks better than this face-lift.
My S3 8V 2015 limo USA (292 bhp) + sport downpipe on dyno - 303bhp/450nm was doing 4,72 s to 100. Version 8Y has super engine and full of potentcial for tuning, but the new are soft blocked :)
It was .3 0f a second quicker than the Golf R20 years but that was on winter tyres so I'd guess the R20 would have been quicker than the S3 if it was running summer tyres . Also the S3 hit 60 in 4.7 where the R20 hit 60 in 4.4

The standard Golf R will have 333hp but the peeformance version definitely will have more i suggest 350. Lets see. Because Golf R actualy existed in two wariants in latest time after 333 version. One was standard with 320hp and peeformance with 333hp just like 20th edition and 333edition. Now they say standard Golf R facelift will get 333hp and nobody say anything about performance version. 100% it will have more power because they want to separate it from standard one and offcourse from S3. Somethings up? My NON tuned 2023 S3 does 0-60 typical 4.4-4.2? However the intercooler does heat up a lot on stops. I was at Mosport this weekend, with data logging, and was surprised just how much. BTW, a 23 S3 with just rear bar added, is very sweet on track, even without the new / Golf R diff. I really don't understand why people say it understeer's really bad, mine is very neutral now and would likely oversteer if I chambered front. Maybe cause I don't have the active suspension where all press cars do?

The rear diffuser just looks so nasty and cheap, a very poor facelift indeed, and a complete mistake of losing premium B&O sound system in favour of Sonos, the Alcantara door trim with added slashes and back light has just sent this car into cheap and tacky, although with a hefty price tag
Yep, you have faster shifting and response when you are on the go. In launch control mode you never feel that but in dynamic plus mode it’s definitely there👌

The I30N is just annoyingly loud, which you people compare to "sportiness". VW cars will never scream and shout from factory. I think the S3 has a nice, mature sound. The I30N is a good car for young people. The S3 costs almost twice as much.
Do not forget that this is a MY2025 car and they will stop building the i30N this year, no successor. So again, those are different regulations they are coping with….and as @t3chn0m0 said, two different customer target groups😉

Add a simple stage 1 tune and both your Golf R or S3 will go towards 400hp real quick. Stage 2 with some bits and bobs and you're pushing 450.

It's not 0-60 and it's different measured. On same conditions you will struggle to see a 4.xx with your S3.
