OMG this means I've been following you for well over a decade. You, Shumi and Kartik were responsibe for my choice of first ever motorcycle and a decade later, still shaping my choices. Great journey Sarge. Not regretted then and m pretty sure I won't regret in future too. Cheers brother you held yourself to highest of standards possible in entire automotive journalism with such a grace. Lots of love.
For all the enthusiasts crying, you'll should have bought the original Daytona and given Triumph money, now they will only make bikes that actually sell.
I did buy the original daytona. So it hurts to see it reduced to this. I'm sure this is a great bike. Like sagar said, they could have called it the trident sport or the sprint or whatever. And kept the daytona badge for a racing special. The name has done more damage to this bike than the bike itself.
Such uninformed comments can only come from someone naive to the industry. Race specials very rarely earn the manufacturers much money. They are a showcase of what that brand can do. KTM RC8, DAYTONA 675, etc were all in that breed of muscle flex sportsbikes. And it's not that they won't sell in okay numbers. Daytona 675 was supposed to be a 4000 unit limited run model. The bike was so good (taking the fight to the Japanese 600s and all that) that not only did it put triumph right in the middle of the map for fast bikes to buy (the street based street 675 and Daytona practically did a resurgence of the triumph brand in the sportsbike world). So yeah. It was a roaring success for triumph. The lack of buyers didn't kill the Daytona. The amount of R and D needed to stick to emission norms not being worth the profit did. Tiger advs were the new hot selling cakes. And triumph is a for profit organisation. It saw more profit in tigers and street triples. Daytona never was a loss making product. If triumph cared about enthusiasts it would have easily kept the original Daytona alive. Especially because their 765 are being run in all moto 2 bikes. It would have easily sustained the whole effort with some profit, if not minted them money Like tigers do, coz they can be sold at a premium to 40 year olds who have a much higher spending capacity but can't ride daytonas. So your logic that Daytona didn't sell well or enthusiasts didn't buy it (there was always a waiting list for it in fact) is a premise that can be conjured up by someone who has only 2 active brain cells who are fighting ober who gets the Friday night shift.
I could tell you what i would prefer Daytona 660 if budget is a constraint but, you need to fulfill that superbike dream And, *let me clear my throat Zx6r the 👑 if you can afford the 20000 approx service cost along with insurance and fuel@@souravroy3259

It's only a matter of chance that I too was looking for my first big bike almost 10 years ago at the same time :). I test-rode a couple of HD bikes and Triumphs as well... Both the Daytona and Street Triple. I still remember how trigger-happy both were, and just felt way way out my league. So like a noob, I bought the Iron. Been looking to get a "good" bike for some time now, and have been consistently divided between the Trident and RS... Until I found out that the Daytona was back. You're a moto journalism legend in my eyes. Although I think the new Daytona 660 is a downgrade from it's predecessor, both in terms of power and looks, & the instead should've shared herself as a twin to Street Triple 765 instead of the Trident 660, it's still a great bike. Much love, may you have a better year up next.

Hi Sagar ! Your verdict is out of the box ❤ That's why I always recommend Bike Enthusiasts to watch your video. In maximum cases I realized that the Older Version of many Iconic Bikes were way more aggressive and well connected with the Rider. The absence of Analog Rev Counter has broken many hearts, the heart which used to match it's beat with increasing RPM.....
U r still rhe best sagar sir.. Be it the hair is white or black❤ Those hair shows u more experienced n u r gettin better by every day.... Can't express how big a fan I am of u SIR....
Sweet memories of sarge riding the daytona 675 makes me feel nostalgic 😢❤😊and want to go and see that video again. Our feelings are the same about the current Daytona 660 , Sarge 😅🤌🙌.
Each time i see you reviewing a bike i see myself 10 years ago and sometimes it birngs tears like tonight,,i was and still am a good respectable rider at my time,,and now i dont have to ride all my 4 bikes are just standing in my garage,,for the professional lifes work load and with personal lifes responsibilities i am not able make any time to ride to live life once again like i did like a free bird.
Fundamental problem now a days is that top decision makers are not enthusiastic or even bikers, they are from marketing and for them profits are more important then making a good bike. How can a non biker even understand the meaning behind these names and their legacies.

Hi Sagar ! Your verdict is out of the box ❤
That's why I always recommend Bike Enthusiasts to watch your video.
In maximum cases I realized that the Older Version of many Iconic Bikes were way more aggressive and well connected with the Rider.
The absence of Analog Rev Counter has broken many hearts, the heart which used to match it's beat with increasing RPM.....

Hi Sarge, awesome review as always. Could I ask what hoodie it is you are wearing in the video? It looks to be an armored one. It looks really good.
That’s the Icon Basehawk 2 jacket
@SagarSheldekarOfficial Thanks Sarge🙌
Given a choice, I'll always choose the 675R hands down!! The old video is still one of my favorites.
We all will.

Hope you can change that and make time to live a little with your motorcycles
This video reminds me of why i fell in love with bikes 16 years ago

Not regretting getting the 2024 street triple 765rs.
Was expecting a lot from this one
That’s the next best thing
3:33 add in the full system arrow and hear it sing! 🤘
Fundamental problem now a days is that top decision makers are not enthusiastic or even bikers, they are from marketing and for them profits are more important then making a good bike.
How can a non biker even understand the meaning behind these names and their legacies.
Expected better from a racing brand like triumph
