This is another excellent trip report. I cant understand why it hasn't got 100X more views. The narrative is spot on, the camera work is brilliant and the music is amazing. Keep going dude 👌
Estoy de acuerdo. Estoy aquí en CDMX ahora. Es mi segundo viaje porque me encanta tanto esta ciudad. Esta vez traje a mis niños para que pudrieran entender como es la gente de esta gran ciudad.
Great vlog Mark I always love to go on cable cars when on a trip but I did not know about that one , My next one will be Tbilisi always love seeing your trips all the best.
Hi Rws, thanks for the comment. Yep, I love taking these cable car trips though they don’t do particularly well on the channel! I’ll continue to seek them out where I can and maybe one day I’ll get over to Tbilisi- I’ve never been. Have a great trip over there and enjoy the ride! All the best, Mark
Having done a real quick google search, it looks as if the plane has been converted into a Library in one of the poorest areas in Mexico City! Apparently the kids and locals really benefit from it being there! If true, that's pretty incredible! 😁
I'm mexican from Mexico City and actually living and one of those neighborhoods. There are quite a few other planes in some other parks like the one you all saw there. These parks are called "Utopias" and they promote different social and cultural activities and some of then actually have nice swimming pools. The planes were turned into places for reading scientific book for children and adults and for using computers also for scientific purposes.
Excellent video and effort. It’s great a new line has opened as I can see the advantages for locals over other forms of available transportation having seen the previous line on a tv doc. I guess there is virtually no other city you can do this in and see so much, certainly puts London’s short effort to shame. The only time I have gone over a whole City like that was a 40 min helicopter ride in LA.
I didn’t know there was a tv doc tbh, I picked this up from another RUclips video and thought it worth trying. Such a cheap way of seeing the area too. Didn’t see one other tourist!
This is amazing Mark. I consider myself a bit of a transport aficionado and I had no idea about this cable car. Great video as always, fabulous content.

Hi VV, thanks for the info and great to hear from another native of this lovely city. I wish I’d had more time to explore some of these utopias. Looked great from above and the cablebus itself - absolutely fantastic.
Cheers David, I hope you have a good trip! I had no worries about my stuff at all. My fellow passengers were interested in what I was doing and were very friendly. I really enjoyed it 😊👍
Hi there, just updated son pointers, the cable bus is been working out perfectly, everyone agrees that this is the most important thing ever happened to us for public transportation!!, greetings from alcaldía GAM, right by the Ticomán station of this great and awesome cable bus, everyone come over and enjoy the ride, cheers 🔥🔥🤙
Hi Pedro, great to hear from you, sounds like it’s going well down there! I really enjoyed the ride but the best bit - the people (locals) I met on the ride. Really friendly, I had a great time and hope to come back one day. Cheers mate 😊👍
Very good video! When I read "cable car" first I thought of a transportation system like in San Francisco. This system is really helpful. In some German cities systems like this have been proposed. In Koblenz, it has been established for a gardening exhibition, and it is well accepted by the public.
Hi Dirk, yes they’re proposing two more lines in Mexico City but I don’t really see this kind of thing anywhere else? Which is a shame really as it’s seems a great way of commuting providing you don’t have to wait too long for the gondolas at busy times. Maybe it’s to do with getting planning consent? Would you want people flying over your garden in one of these for like 16 hours a day?! 😂
Haha, yes very similar to the ski resort type aren’t they. Totally agree, if you could get the towers (or whatever they’re called) in without too much fuss from the residents, it’s a fairly cheap solution I would’ve thought?
An impressive piece of civic engineering. I wonder what safety systems are in place. Let’s face it for all intents and purposes it is riding on a very long piece of cotton thread. Great video as ever.
Cheers Phil, not sure about safety though they don’t feel that high off the ground. Tbh, I’d rather be on one of these than one that’s up in the mountains 1,000’s of feet above the trees!
Interesting! Maybe they’re beginning to get too many tourists as it is supposed to be a commuter thing. It won’t be due to this video through - hardly anyone watches it! 😂
Hello Cheltenham BS, I’m definitely going to try some others. What’s the big draw with this one in your opinion? What sort of coaches do they use? Is there an alternative? Cheers 👍
@@LetsMakeaTrip And definitely try it out because if you go to Cheltenham you can get on a bus from town to the rail station which is The D or E at the High Street on the third stop

It’s an amazing place mate, too much to do in the time I was there!

What an amazing public transportation system and I’m always touched by how friendly and willing to help people can be. Lovely video.
Cheers Tim, yep I didn’t have one bad experience in Mexico with people - all really nice 👍

Very good idea for hilly cities with chronically jammed streets. Until now i only knew cable cars going up to the mountains.
Yes Roger, same here. When you think about it, it’s a good solution though getting it through planning in somewhere like the UK would be a nightmare!
Excellent Mark! I'd love to try that soon, and such great value 😊🙏🏻
Cheers mate, yep, little-known I reckon but we’ll worth it if you’re into that kind of thing 👍

There's one in Quinto,Equador which is a proper form of public transport. Most cable 🚠 cars are really for tourists.
Yep, these ‘commuter cable cars’ though are really useful. I’m not even sure many tourists know about them.
Great video
Cheers Luis 😊
You forgot your skis in that gondola!!! Jokes apart, cable cars could be a perfect solution for public transportation in many cities.

Would like to meet the pilot who landed that plane, very interesting journey thanks for taking me along, cheers and stay safe.
Haha, yep! Wish I’d have gone back and had a look round once I’d got to Santa Marta tbh. Looked like you could go inside it.
I've been on the one in La Paz which has the longest network in the world
I’d love to get down to all Paz and try that! Cheers Dave 👍
