I love how Stephen doesn’t interrupt or talk over his guests! Sign of a true professional and someone who doesn’t feel the need to feed his ego at the expense of others!
Right on ! I can't stand hosts who won't shut up ! Stephen is VERY good at his job ! What a class act !
It s double the good cause she literally says nothing
Oh shut up
A lady who has faced her demons and been successful in movies as an adult as she was as a child.

@@YOLO-sp5bi what she means is ,Drew Barrymore has been through a lot of stuff keeping in mind she's been in the game since she was 7 years old. her whole lineage of Drew Barrymore's are actors and actresses her family battled with alcohol ,she battled with drugs and alcohol at the age of 11, she went to rehab 13 .she was going to nightclubs at 7 and 8 years old , she emancipated herself from her mother. she pretty much had to rebuild Her Image and clean herself up which is the reason why she's respected today
@@danielschwegler5220 If your still on. I would like a discussion with you. Thank you for your comment!
She has a wonderful positivity about her.

In some ways she hasn't really changed since she did the Johnny Carson interview in 1982 at the age of 7.

I heard she's not the brightest bulb in the drawer (just rumors of course), but she seems like a very sweet person. Glad she's had such a long and successful career. She's one of the few child actors that made it out without any major issues.
@@BrokenGodEnt sounds bright to me, she doesn’t have a shallow intelligence that’s for sure
She’s an interesting person. I’ve always thought of her as a bit quirky but she’s that plus smart, powerful and deep. And she done that for decades. Amazing.
I totally agree ! Not only a talented actress but an astute businesswoman, loving & devoted singer mother and gifted producer ! And of course one beautiful woman !!

She’s not as wild and crazy as she was on Letterman back in ‘95 but she has the same kind of enthusiastic energy.
oh she is..she just reralized later that it was bit too much..so she wont do it again
@@goranhrastovik5364 She won't do it again because it was the sort of thing that a 20 year old does, not a 44 year old.
'Love her energy then and now!
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for Drew. I love her candor and willingness to lay bare her feelings. 💗
How can a person stay so adorable for so many years? Here’s to many more adorable decades!
I love how she referred to her ex as the father of her children!
Baby dada.
I'm sure she calls him "baby daddy" to her friends 😂
She is so beautiful she still has the same look as when she was 7 year old!
@ no, she grew up too fast.
I love Drew Barrymore, she always seems so down-to-earth and genuine! She embraces her persona, with all the mistakes and errors with such charisma! A true artist :)
Drew is such a bright spark in a dark sky. Always sunny, always golden.
Drew Barrymore, thank you so much for talking about being a mom in such a normal, unapologetic way. I’m a mom & I love to sit here with my daughters & hear someone so accomplished be on a similar path to me & other parents.
I basically see her statement about anger as her trying to distance feminism away from the stereotype that its about hating men and replacing men with women. She wants women to continue to work hard to create opportunities but doesn't want it to be fueled by anger and distrust because that makes it hard for men and women to work together.
no
@Daniel Balter no, unwell said
ya mother
Another reason to love this beautiful spirit. Empower women yes, be angry at ALL men NO
Absolutely, she is preaching the right kind of feminism. But she isn't arguing against people stereotyping feminism. She is arguing against the movement of anger and entitlement within feminism itself.
@El Raton Umm, ask Phil Hartman about that one. Men have been killed by their spouses. Yes, in areas like the Middle East, women don't have equal rights. Feminists should focus their attention on those countries. Instead we're ludicrously told that "misogyny" exists in America, a word that wasn't even in common use until 5 years ago. Women have an innate physical disadvantage against men, which is why we have laws against rape and other forms of abuse. We also have child support laws. Yet, in the modern economy, women have incredible advantages. They're better at verbal skills, and are simply doing better in education across the board. Ultimately, it's very easy for women to get in a situation where a man is paying all their bills, while they don't have to work at all. It's extremely rare for a man to be in that privileged position. That's the only reason women aren't earning as much money as men, because they have so many opportunities to be supported by men rather than work. Ultimately, it's wrong to focus on any ideology like feminism which only looks at trying to help one group of people. We should always take society as a whole, and work on issues that help all people.
Drew is THE BEST at making others feel GREAT about THEMSELVES. She’s such a giver. I don’t see how anyone doesn’t completely ADORE everything about her. ✨🦋🌺🌻🌸🌈🌞💖💫✨
In other words, Drew didn't trade favors for roles. She proved herself. The best, smartest celebrity commentary on the metoo movement....
Just saw her interview with Johnny Carson. She was so adorable as a young child and yet so mature. She has a good personality.
Her cuteness is timeless ..she is adorable 💕
You speak the truth, Kemo Sabe !!
She’s gotta be one of my favorite people ever.
Jonny Rager she is great
Good job Drew... I love the fact you "just are what you are" and stay true to it... Fun to see you.
Drew is an inspiration after her horrible parents and i wish she was someone that helped people like me
All the comments below I don't think people are realizing that in 1995 when she was 19 I would think even with who she is and her family is she would have to work hard to be taken seriously. She was the coolest person of my teens but she wasn't serious. She was never serious. She flashed David Letterman...she was in rehab before 13 yrs old. She had a tough life. She had to work hard to stay relevant and she had her share of bad publicity. Even with her crazy childhood she grew to be such a successful, kind, intelligent gentle soul. She has amazing energy and heart...even her laugh is contagious. I met her once in 1999. Worked in Never Been Kissed with her for 3 months as a regular extra. She was the nicest most humble celebrity I had ever met. She is a class act. She may have been a wild child in her youth but she will always be one of my favorites.
That core of innocence is completely intact, even after all these years. Amazing. Wish there were more people like her in this world.
How can you not love this woman... seriously cool
I've loved watching her forever. She gets better with age, doesn't she?
I’m not really good at remembering actors’ names and matching them to faces, voices etc. But Drew’s different. She has an innocent sort of cuteness about her. Very memorable.
I love Drew Barrymore, she's a real FLOWER BEAUTY
I'll admit that poem she read made me cry. I'm still young, but I can relate to it.
When she read the poetry I instantly got “Never Been Kissed” vibes. Ugh, love her!
I LOVE drew Barrymore. Thank God she's still around.
just watched her interview with Carson when she fell....she was so sweet...still is.
As an old school fan I'm glad to see how you've progressed drew Barrymore.
Drew Barrymore's - Ever After: A Cinderella Story - changed young woman's lives IMHO.
We need more people like Drew in this world. She's always full of smiles and nice and genuine. Awwww bless her! She looks the same as she did twenty years ago lol...she doesn't age at all .
Wow.. Changed woman for the better. I have so much admiration. Very broad-minded. Intelligent. Brave. Beautiful person.
I loved drew in never been kissed. Kids called me josie grossy in school like in the movie, then i find out her birthday is the same day as mine wich made me love her even more. Drews awesome!!!
Feb 22nd gang!! Happy early birthday to all 3 of us!! 🥳💜
LOVE her Dirty Dancing T-Shirt!
I get it🤔...it's you but sometimes you watch replays of yourself and feel out of body experience 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 genius intellect... much respect and ❤
04:00 as a teenager who barely got the hang on the internet, back in 1990s, one of the earliest memories of really falling for her sweet, giggly charm was her David Letterman flash.
weird how decades pass by and people change (or appear to change).. and i meant on the internal level and one's mind.
Agree with Ms. Drew. I so much love her. Every show should have the responsibility to educate the viewing public not only to entertain. Stephen is a multi-talented host WHO is able to share not only politics but also elevate socio-Cultural aspects of human interests. I hope we have the same kind of show in our country!
Agree! John Oliver is also great in this department: education and entertainment at once
Although I like educational entertainment I disagree with it being a responsibility. If the format allows it sure, but I don't want to be force-fed morals and ideologies if I'm punching out and wants some mind numbing entertainment. Its a manipulative subversive way to get a message across and it puts me on the defense instantly.
At the very least, no one has any responsibility to provide "mind numbing entertainment" either, though.
She's adorable. I wanna be her BFF. 💚
Patiently awaiting the return of Santa Clarita Diet.
I love Drew Barrymore ❤️ I grew up watching her grow up in her movies❤️
She's still as cute and good hearted as when she was a teethless seven year old :)
I love her. She's very intelligent & personable.
Yes she is. And so fun to watch.
And she still looks like Drew. Not butchered by plastic surgery. Just for that she is an inspiration and role model.
Kinda seriously let herself go
Vee K. No she has not. She looks amazing. No one stays 20 forever!
Not Drew being a Berrymore and saying no doors were open for 😂
Of all actress she the only one I adore..I always love her she so cute .from E,T,,To now she still cute and beautiful.
Honest to God, I thought at 4:37 he was going to say "today's my birthday..."
Missed opportunity.
Not! He totally stared at the camera and she refused., she said I am a changed woman
“Little Girl Lost” thank the universe you found your way through that dark pit. For those of you saying “oh yeah, but she was was just a kid...” NO! She was a HOLLYWOOD kid-totally different unicorn. Compound what you already know about 70’s 80’s 90’s child actor’s abuse + plus growing hormones; it’s a miracle this lovely, intelligent, articulate creature is still alive. Think I’m talking smack??? Wiki search River Phoenix, Brad Renfro, Jonathan Brandis,Dana Plato, Corey Haim. She’s a blessing of positivity and I’m done. And goodness she quoted Bukowski-😱Full stop.❤️
I am gonna google their stories later but quick question.. how many of them worked with Steven Spielberg or was somehow related to him?
@@pinakijana9479 River Phoenix was in Spielberg's movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Wow. I don't remember the last time a poem really made me stop and think about myself.
Drew's was good too.
Fantastic message about "earning it". I appreciate that message
I love your interview 1982 oh my God as 7 years old little girl you did amazing interview I love you I love that little girl 😍😍 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I remember watching that moment when it originally aired. I was stunned.
I love her. She is clear and pure! And honest.♥️
She's a light being
Once you hear the constant dangling of her earrings, you can’t un-hear it
the fact that drew barrymore just read a hank poem just made my day!
When Stephen looked at the camera, it reminded me of Jim from The Office XD
Ah...my favorite moments from The Office, the Jim reaction shots. :)

The office invented that. TROO STORIE
Shut up

"She's some kind of wonderful, yes she is"!
So that's why Charlie's Angels was so good. I watched that shit almost every day as a kid.
A national treasure, Love her poetry
Drew is a national treasure.
I think the problem with sexism is that many women DO work hard and ARE deserving, and still because of sexism aren't given the same opportunities, or paid as much. Some women have to work even harder than their male counter parts. I think thats something to be justifiably angry about.
I am glad she is such a hard working person and a good example, but I wish she wouldn't use her success as a way to make it seem as if other women havent worked as hard as her.
Yes, agreed! And in no way do I think she _intends_ to come off that way, but she does. Her words here about tone stink of privilege. She was riding on the back of her family’s financial security and success when she started up her own business at 19. No one’s going to say she didn’t work hard or didn’t deserve that, but we also can’t sit back and say she would have gotten the same recognition if she had come from an unknown family without some hefty financial backing. She didn’t have to work as hard for it as other women do.
Love Drew, but she’s really disappointed me here.
I agree with some of what you say, but not about the backing she got when she was 19. She was selected by Speilburg for ET when she was 7. And, I don't think he offered her the role because she was a Barrymore. So, she'd been working since she was 7 when she started her own company at 19. I have no doubt but that it was her OWN money that she used to start her company.
arx754 I’m sure she used her own money as well, but that doesn’t change the fact that if she had any financial setbacks, she had her family to lean against. Whether or not that happened isn’t the point, it’s the fact that she had that financial privilege that not everyone has that makes the difference. Drew had a hard life in many unique ways, but money wasn’t among those hardships. And, unfortunately, it is money that often makes or breaks it where opportunity is concerned.
arx754 Like I said, though, I have little doubt Drew only means the best, but her words here really miss the mark. She’s speaking as someone who hasn’t experienced the same amount of resistance as the other women speaking up in Hollywood have, you know? She fought back and moved a mile, while others fought back and only moved an inch.
I’m, of course, not an expert on Drew’s entire life history, but knowing what I do know, I feel it’s her time to sit back and let other voices be heard.
Mackenzie H Cry me a river. You want to be equal with men? then toughen up and overcome
Drew Barrymore a true charming beauty..our lucky charm..love drew😍😍
Drew never stop acting. You are perfect the way you are.

I have a notion to second that emotion !! :-)
Al Jourgensen: "I remember the first time I got drunk, I was 8 years old and my parents had some kind of 60s cocktail party..."
Bill Burr: "This sounds like Drew Barrymore's childhood. Somebody gives you an 8 ball 'See, ya turned 8! Let's get em an 8 ball!'"
I was 4 and half years old and E.T. was the very first movie I saw in a movie theater, and drew was my very first crush and is a beautiful woman, and a beautiful human being.

Drew Barrymore... What's not to LOVE?😘😙😍
She's exactly as cute at 40-something as she was at 7 and her grand-uncle was Mr. Potter from _It's a Wonderful Life_ and Ebenezer Scrooge. #TeamDrew
Luv how Drew maintains being a free spirit although she is definitely more mature!

She's great lol hilarious and awesome ever since I was a kid 😂
I remember what she did on Letterman... 😀
I remember that too and not from youtube videos.
And all these responses aren't judgemental? Can't her opinion also be her opinion, only that she has a larger platform to express it than we do? I don't see where she told others to act like her. Anyways, everyone have a nice day. It's the vernal equinox, and the first day of Spring.

It was truly an iconic moment in 90's history. lol

Drew's so naturally beautiful. I wish she STILL looked this good! Since her talk show-seems like she doesn't care about her appearance anymore. Please go back to making films Drew! We all miss u!
Literally just watched the carson interview yesterday on youtube...now my feed is all Drew Barrymore XD but I'm not even upset after seeing that first interview it's great
I paused the video when she was talking about being on the Johnny Carson show at age 7 and looked it up. You should do it too, she's soooo cute on that occasion.

So Now? By Charles Bukowski
The words have come and gone,
I sit ill.
The phone rings, the cats sleep.
Linda vacuums.
I am waiting to live,
Waiting to die.
I wish I could ring in some bravery.
It’s a lousy fix
But the tree outside doesn’t know:
I watch it moving with the wind
In the late afternoon sun.
There’s nothing to declare here,
Just a waiting.
Each faces it alone.
Oh, I was once young.
Oh, I was once unbelievably young.
