The Fame Monster is an EP. it was an extension of The Fame where TFM is basically the “dark side” of fame.
On some leaked Gaga’s documents TFM is mentioned as an album, not an EP.

"So happy i could die" is gonna be one of your faves in a couple more listens...
I feel like So Happy I Could Die is such a great song for different reasons, but basically it’s because of its "sublime" or "elevated" sound. I mean, i find it to be like a spiritual experience that lifts me regardless of the dark lyrics. Definitely one of my faves from this album!

the greatest thing is even though gaga was still trying to penetrate the music industry during the fame era, the fame monster is still a very personal masterpiece that anyone can find a part of themselves at different periods of their lives. almost everyone i met has a different favorite song for various reasons.
each song represents a different fear that she has for example speechless about her dad represents her fear of death and losing people she’s close to

Speechless is one of the best songs she ever made I love it! The Fame Monster is such a good album !
The Fame speaks about the glamorization of fame, the idea of what people think it’s like VS The Fame Monster is more about her fears and darker side of fame. Each song in The Fame Monster speaks to one of the fears that Gaga encounters in her personal life attributed by her rise to fame. Some “fears” are: sex, men, truth, and death. She worked on this while she was in a dark mental space bc she had finally gotten fame, but didn’t know it came with such a high price. That’s why this EP is SUPER personal to her.

You should review A Star is Born! It’s a soundtrack album but to be honest it very much deserves to be next to Gaga’s studio albums. And it’s a better listen than Cheek to Cheek!

About So happy I could die, I totally understand you, I didn't liked this song either when I first listened to it but I painfully relate to it's lyrics n now it's one of my favorites. The meaning behind the lyrics it's her fear of addiction/alcohol n I also have this fear because for a time I persued this felling of "so happy I could die" through drinking you know.
At first I had the same ranking but after a week of listening to it over and over “so happy I could die” became my fav it’s a song that really get fit in any mood and it’s up to you to make it a song to dance or just be sad and wishing to be happy, also when it’s either after u best day of ur life or the worst one, that song is really about emotions
