  • This is a test run TAS of Pocky & Rocky 2. Apparently, I've discovered a lot more strategies and techniques that can be used in a RTS.
So here is a base run to know some important tricks of the game, and a route that could be correct to be as fast as possible.
Using Rocky instead of Little Ninja CAN BE a mistake in Level 5, and could reduce a lot of lag depending on when you throw the partner. It's an optimisation I need to figure it out.
If you need any question, you ask either ask in the comments, or to @Ch0wW7 on Twitter. But yeah, seeing this game truly TAS is a dream I'd love to contribute a bit.

A bit of advice: When you throw Rocky, you can actually throw a few more cards before Rocky starts attacking the boss.
Also, why do you sometimes use reversion in random places and then possess the partner again? Like, I understand if it's because you want to get Charm or Rabbit Ears, but otherwise it's just confusing.
Edit: 26:24 The Magic Wand missed.
2nd edit: You got way to many wand whiffs against Dynagon.

Hello! I don't use Rocky any longer in any part of my newest runs. I fully use Ninja, as the magical throwing is immediate, and doesn't have the super long waiting times Rocky or Bomber Bob have.
I use and abuse reversion to revert the internal damage counter (which is 4HP). However, it's subject to a lot of lag frames, so it's good to use and reuse them in places where there are no more enemies. However it also manages to double the speed of your character (with 2 controlers). Yet, you could even achieve even more stupid things with a second control, in transformation or in normal form.
I also abuse the wand, since Dynagon has 2048HP. A card only deals 1HP regardless of its form. The wand always does 4HP by frame hit.
I admit it was only a test run through a TAS, just to see how quick it could be when you're agressive. However, given how unstable the game is in NTSC-J (which would be quicker with less dialogues), I gave up in redoing a real, fully TAS, as it softlocks in so many many places or do unusual behaviour.

    This is easy difficulty

Yep. But it doesn't differ much : only 2 or 3 enemies are impacted by the difficulty, leaving bullets upon their death. So it has to be the better choice for TASing (since it's a lag nightmare game).
