    Hi nice vid👍I'm looking for a 4 season tent for 2 and this tent ticks the box but was wondering if it's worth shelling out more for a hilleberg tent that looks similar another words is hilleberg a much more superior tent than terra novas? many thanks your feed back would be much appreciated.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  4 года назад +1

      I'm afraid we don't stock and Hilleberg so I couldn't give you an unbiased opinion, but I can say that all of our tents are handpicked as something we would use ourselves. It may also be worth looking at Fjallraven tents, as most are also 4 season. I'll pop a link below. Kind regards, Harry.

    Could you double-up on the blue pole if you were heading out in really wonky weather? It looks like there are two eyelets and room in the pole sleeve...

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 года назад

      Two poles may fit through the one sleeve, but there wouldn't be anywhere for the second pole to attach to. The tent is 4-season rated without doubling up on the poles, so theoretically you shouldn't need to. Harry

    • @bergo2519
      @bergo2519 3 года назад

      @@trekitt Thanks Harry. I've not seen the back of the tent, so I'm not sure if the blue pole is clipped in somewhere, but it looks like there are two eyelets in the tab on the front where two poles could be seated...

    • @imaybesometime
      @imaybesometime 6 месяцев назад

      I know you asked this question a while ago, but in the interests of completeness, @@bergo2519 you could probably double pole the blue pole but that isn't the main attack vector for wind. You could also double pole the red pole, which is the likely main attack vector, but then you would have to jerry rig some form of connection between the pole attached to the tent and the second pole. Up to you whether you think the game is worth the candle at this point.

    what sleeping bag would you suggest for a 188 cm big guy - plus a non inflating mat to go with it for Wales in Oct

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 года назад

      I'm 6ft 3" (190cm) and weigh just under 90kg and use a Rab Ascent 700 Extra Long for winter months - will pop a link below. In regards to a mat, the majority of our range involves inflating it; the only options we have that are non-inflatable are made by Exped and Therm-A-Rest; I'll pop a link to those below as well. I'm looking for a solid 3 season ten that fits 2 25" mats and is upto 2.5kg. You guys got any suggestions? Cheers 👍

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  6 месяцев назад

      Do you have any budget in mind for the tent?
      We'd recommend a 3-person tent for your mat requirements, there aren't many 2-person tents that will comfortably fit 2 wide mats, and the extra space of the 3-person will be a more comfortable experience all-round when there are two of you sharing.
      A few options to consider:
      MSR Elixir 3 (technically just over the 2.5kg)
      Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3
      MSR Mutha Hubba

    • @brianinnes3778
      @brianinnes3778 6 месяцев назад

      Around the 800 mark, I had the elixir 2 but I don't like the inner pitch first, I have the abisko lite 1 now for summit camping etc but my son is now coming camping so I need more space. I think I'm asking too much as I can't find anything haha

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  6 месяцев назад

      @@brianinnes3778 That is definitely a tricky one! We would have suggested the Abisko Lite 3 or shape 3, but they still taper towards the foot of the tent so would be a tight fit to get the wide mats in. The Abisko Dome 3 comes in too heavy. (We do have a 10% code on Fjallraven at the moment which would bring them close to budget)
      Alternative suggestion - The Bach Wickiup 3 or 4. Teepee style with plenty of floor space and right on your weight limit.
