  • An Anchor Windlass is a machine that restrains and manipulates the anchor chain on a Boat/Vessels, allowing the anchor to be raised and lowered by means of chain cable.
    *Hawsepipe- A pipe passing through the bow section of a ship that the anchor chain passes through.
    *Riding Chock-A metal fairlead for the anchor chain. It prevents the chain from fowling on deck
    *Chain- Refers to the component that attaches the anchor to the boat/vessels and is usually referred to as the anchor rode (or anchor cable)
    *Chain Guide-Served as the guide of the chain in an fix position to maintain the diagonal position of chains going up to the anchor gypsy.
    *Chain Stopper-serve as an emergency lock when break looses, Bites the chain.
    *Clutch Dog- used to separately engage or disengage from the anchor gypsy and mooring drums.
    *Brake Band-Consisting of a band of friction material that tightens concentrically around a cylindrical piece of equipment to either prevent it from rotating, or to slow it. This application is common on winch drums
    *Brake Lever-Served as an holder connected to the Brake Band clock wise for breaking/slowing and counter clock wise for open break.
    *Gear Box-Served as a cover/protection for the gears and to prevent necessary accident
    *Clutch Lever-Served as an holder connected to the clutch dog for engaged/dis-engaged
    *Spurling Pipe-A pipe from main deck to chain locker where the anchor chains passes through when heaving-up anchor.
    *Trottle/Control Lever-Bar/Rod used to control the movement of the mooring drums and the anchor gypsy when mooring operation and heaving-up/walk-out anchor.
