🙂 I try to keep it down to maximum three boards and four sails. One of my favourites is a Starboard Aero from 2006, and it s still going strong. From 1998 to 2010 development was extreme. Now it's mostly for the fun of it, if you buy new gear - unless you are in the PWA. It was windy today 🙂All the best - Per
@@surferkaspert4679 My dad got me into windsurfing when i was younger (this was about 30yrs ago now, and it seemed much more popular back then also, anyway...), we bumped into a guy while we we're all just setting up on the beach. and he said something like "i got into windsurfing because i thought it would be a cheep sport, ...3 boards, 4 masts and 7 sails later...". Made us all laugh. Good times. Still, i have to agree with the OP though. it ain't cheep. Additionally, not sure how these wave guys can do it, broken masts, sails...etc.. that would set me back a fortune! love new sails but tbh all my gear is 10 years old or older simply for the price of it all and there's no second hand market for it where i live.

So right 😂 Respect to you and your lovely forgiving wife! But really it’s why I virtually stopped as, with kids I couldn’t keep up. I just rent now 😢😂😂🤙🏻
Yeah-Midlifecrisis 🤗 and total messy! I constantly tried to optimize my gear: 4 sails, 2 mast, 1 boom, 2 boards (4,0-5,5 and 86+95ltrs) and wingfoil for light winds (10-25knts)- 1 board, 2 Foils 2 Wings. I am happy and relieved😎🤙🏄🏻♂️🌊
That was good fun. If I may "challenge" your video a little bit (and please take this in a good hearted way :-) ) - I guess you're a pro, and then what you are presenting is the tools of your trade and what brings money on the table. And I assume much of it is sponsored. However, I think that one of the main culprits in killing windsurfing - or at least making it much less popular - over the past 20 years is the notion that in order to be a windsurfer you're gonna need a sh*tload of gear for different conditions - wave, slalom, foil etc. And this makes it very expensive and it can give aspiring windsurfers the idea that this sport is just waaaaay to expensive and complicated for them. That is so sad! While it makes completely sense that a pro like you has all this gear; for 80 % of the average amateur windsurfers out there, we can get away with much less gear and much less advanced gear. A 115-120 liter freewave or FSW board; 2-3 sails, one, boom, a couple masts and a couple fins - then the majority of us happy amateur - weekend warrior windsurfers have all we need. That's an important message, that the industry - with its focus on extreme specialization - unfortunately hasn't promoted enough if you ask me.
Hi Torsten Thanks for your comment. I am not a pro windsurfer, would be nice. Instead I have focussed on building a life that allows me a lot of freedom in more ways then one. I am a team rider for different brands, but that doesn’t give me stuff for free but at a discount. For this year I’m on some new brands but more on that in a later video. Also this video is just made for fun. Before I got into racing 8 years ago, I was one waveboard , one freestyle board and 4 sails kind of guy. And I still think that if you a lighter person you can do most conditions with a 4,5 a 5,7 and a board around 100l. As you can see my wave boards are over 10 years old and I think the freestyle board is from 2008, never change something that works. But getting into racing have really given me many more days on the water so when I go wave sailing now I can do 5 hour sessions. Also I have met many great people thru windsurfing more and more and also had great experiences doing Defi and other races. And I will say that I am very passionate about my windsurfing so for me having more gear means more time windsurfing, and that is very important for me.
@@surferkaspert4679 Thx for your answer. As for your own WS journey: That's awesome - more power to you :-) And I agree - anything that can give one more time on the water is good. We're only here once, so the more time we spent surfing, the better ;-) I am nowhere near your level - so for me, freeriding + bump n' jump is as good as it gets. And then I combine it with kiting as well. So even if I only have two WS boards and two sails - I have kite equipment too...
