Another day at the office. GoPro's CEO gets behind the wheel of the company car to do development work on the HD Motorsports HERO. Last lap of qualifying. SCCA National race at Thunderhill Raceway, Willows, CA.

If you look carefully at the bottom of the video there is a waving (like in the case the filmed object is underwater). What causes that? Besides that the image is very clear!
excellent driver, obviously had done that track many times before.
I have a question : So, can I mount the camera to a roll-bar if I buy the motorsport kit? Or do I have to buy the roll-bar mount additionally? If I have to buy it, can I just get off with the HD Hero 960.
I see, however how do you know the conditions of the track? It looked quite damp to me. And, how do you how this car handles?
@CostasAthan That's known as Jello effect. It's in the very nature of the CMOS sensor that is used in the camera. CCD sensors don't have that but suffer from other defects.
Why are the majority of Go Pro HD videos on youtube in 4:3 format? Shouldn't HD video be in 16:9 or 16:10?
I bought the same gopro and mounted it on my side window.
my problem is with the sound.It's not good and the wind noise is a bit high and i did not go above 100mph.
engine sounds are poor as well.it's nothing compared to this video sound.
you might have an idea why that is?

@odracirseraoseia1999 those light tell you when to shift and the rpm. Do you know of any that do that on a plane?

then why dont you convert the 3:3 video in to a 16:9 vidoe with your editing software. it works for me

Is this a STOHR chassis?
Would love to get this cam... but with no support for external michrophone... I'll have to find something else. As with most orther cameras in this segment.. sound quality is really shit compared to say a regulare DV-camera.
What formula car is that?
Are you driving for a team? or is this a self-bought competition?
Dylan Vuille I created the car and engine myself. the car is completely constructed from carbon fiber and the engine is a two stroke based on the Mazda RX7 engine with a single rotor.

For those of you wondering why the driver didn't push harder it was his first time on that race track and that car is purely carbon fiber experimental version with no roll cage a crash at over 220 miles an hour would result in death as far as the engine goes it a purely experimental new form of rotary engine both the car and the engine were completely handbuilt for the purpose of making this video and shattering a track record
