Excellent video, I'm old before I tried dcc, I had read up on it, and in a couple of the books they talked about snubbers at the wiring. I'm an N scaler I would guess the snubber would be the same values as HO. I run DCC++EX and pi-sprog. Mostly my. Pi sprog. My layout is small 4by 6.. but I don't think a snubber would hurt the layout, most certainly help it. 😂

Thank you for your kind words. Yes the same values would be fine. Im not sure you will need one. You could run some tests and can always fit them afterwards. Cheers Daz

Can the filter components fit between the feeder wires before they attach to the track?

Hi Wayne, I have installed mine at the end of the bus cable run and not to the feeder wires. Hope this helps?

Thanks for watching. A question or 3!!
    1. Would/Have you use a snubber?
    2. If so what sort of tweaks would you make to it??
    3. How could I make it better?

Just curious. Is it possible to install a snubber in the locomotive itself, before the track power reaches the decoder and would that be recommended or not?

That is a great question. Personally I have never seen being even suggested. I will research

@@ModelRailroadTechniques thanks for the quick response! I only have 2 dcc steam locomotives that run on their own separate track - my preservation society lol. The rest of the track is DC and will remain so due to cost considerations. 2 mobile snubbers sounds more appealing than crawling around installing them on the track work as my age starts with a 7 😅. Thanks for your channel. It helps me a lot.

@@ModelRailroadTechniques I'm guessing a half watt resistor might be an issue inside the loco due to heat?

@@ViewFromAfar yeah heat and space will the first issue.
