I might upload more awesome cool aquarium videos for you guys and etc during my free time. *To those that gave me a thumbs up, THANK YOU!! :) Glad you liked the video*
It finally happened. My baby datnoid is officially going for pellets now. Woooo!! He is cuurently in a 10 gallon quarantine tank, no worries, he ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT be living in a such a small tank in the future. He will soon be in my main 250 gallon display tank once he doubles in size to about 4 inches, or a little bigger, trained to eat many different foods, checked and diagnosed for any illnesses, sickness, or diseases. Don't want to send him right in, you know? Or I'd potentially get my other healthy fish sick in the main tank with this little guy, and plus, he's a baby.. it's risky, because I have a lot of medium-big-sized fish in the 250 and he might get bit and it'd be over. Anyway yeah, just a heads-up before you guys accuse me why I'm putting him/her in such a small tank ;)
Hope you guys enjoyed this video of my baby indo dat I just recently got. It's my first ever datnoid and it is already the coolest fish to me among other fish I have. I still love my Silver Dollars and my red hooks, cichlids, clown loaches though LOL, but wow, datnoids are right up there on the cool fish list... it's a pretty tough and an awesome looking fish that gets to a monster size. SO BEWARE, they WILL get HUGE!! A baby indonesian datnoid fish like I have in the video and all datnoids in general, will reach about 18 inches or even a little more!! So do your homework and research if you want to really have one, because like I said, they will get big; they are really cool fish to keep if you have the room for some. If you can get some, you must have a huge tank to accommodate it's full grown size, period. It will not be happy in small tanks.
    Cheers.
    PEACE!

Yeah, I'm planning to update with a new video in a few months later on his growth, size, behavior, etc and how he/she is doing. I might be moving him/her to the main tank by then. d:^)

+jomac tire Sorry for the delayed response man. Been busy. Anyway actually mine just took them first time the pellets hit the tank after a few minutes. I think it was because of the other dither fish in the quarantine tank chowing down on the pellets.. Basically the tiger noticed that the other fish are eating the pellets, and so he's like okay, I'm going to have them too; so bam, started taking them. He might've been trained to take pellets previously when it was smaller. Other methods are to stuff raw shrimp with pellets or something and give it to them.
Check out MonsterFishKeepers.com they got all the info you need on Datnoids and other large fish.
      Have a good one.
