That part was funny
The rant was funny, but we remember when Skip leaving put ESPN on life support. SAS was on every ESPN channel, flew everywhere, and looked exhausted. When Charles Barkley joked he didn’t want to work crazy hours at ESPN, he was referencing Stephen A Smith. So, all fun and jokes about “he does nothing.” However the man over there, with the George Jefferson haircut and the corny jokes, is the reason we can enjoy First Take and ESPN on a daily. Give that man his flowers. He deserves them.

Im not gonna bash FSU because i understand why they did it. But let's be honest. If FSU had gotten in, none of those players would've opted out to "get ready for the draft" or to "prevent an injury from occurring". So stop using that as an excuse as to why they opted out vs UGA. The real reason they didnt wanna play was because of being shafted by the playoff committee (some of whom are ACC Alums) and wanted to send a message without making it look like a boycott. Which honestly, they might shouldve done anyway.

Bad Take. Georgia had their chance to prove they were one of the best 4 in the SEC championship. But they lost to Alabama. This was game was always about Florida St proving they deserved to be in playoff by beating a playoff caliber team. Which they did not. Love SA and Mad Dog, but the FSU take is wrong. These kids were heartbroken and the game meant nothing. Why play in a "Consolation Bowl" with absolutely nothing to gain and risk injury. The message was clear from the CFP: "play your guts out and win every game and we will still not reward you." The anger should be directed at the insane powers that be in the NCAA that won't set any logical guiedlines for NIL caps, portal dates, transfer caps... The sport has been decimated.

i think FSU players not playing is completely validated. The committee already told them their perfect season/conference championship didnt matter....so the players told the committee their bowl game didnt matter. And a win against Georgia wouldn't have changed a single thing. Their season still would've been over this weekend regardless. There was nothing for them to "prove"

ESPN is a disgrace. They thought that Alabama and Texas would win their games. They had Georgia play all their players against FSUs backups because they as a network want Florida State to suck. ESPN is FSUs network partner. A network that only wants to promote the SEC. Florida State fielded a bowl team that couldn't live up to the hype of it's undefeated regular season team. And now ESPN is mad? Georgia played the bowl team. Georgia didn't play the undefeated regular season team. The rigged playoff committee ended Florida States season with their decision. Georgia lost a game. Sure, if FSU would've lost a game most of the players would've played. But, they didn't lose. Its a backwoods mentality to think that Florida State, a team thats undefeated should have to beat Georgia to prove they need to be in the final four? Why? You'd have to be mentally inept to think such a thing but this network ESPN pushes that derelect narrative. They just want to promote the SEC and promote the teams they want to promote. Georgia lost a game and was not in the final four. So the masses need to think that Florida State should have to play and beat Georgia in a bowl scrimmage to prove they belonged? ESPN thought Alabama and Texas would win their games and in order to put them in the final 4 they'd have to launch a propaganda campaign against Florida State. Thats how trash this network is. And with so many people droping them because they have to pay for their channel now instead of it being included in a package, there's no doubt ESPN will fail. ESPN is trash.
