Saronic Quartet

The Saronic Gulf is a warm and wonderful area in Greece, south-east of Athens, the countryside of which inspired me to write this quartet for mallets in 2015. The vibraphone theme with the underlying marimba accompaniment, reflects the mood and atmosphere of summer in this magical place and develops to introduce a presto symbolizing the enthusiasm and energy of the local people.
