Lara Fabian is the perfect example for a music teacher. It's so inspiring a singer like her.

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar.
The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.
It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti).
But for many, Lara's version is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla.
I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it.
For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian.

Lara is known to have the most resonant and sustained mixed voice on earth, nicknamed The Ring due to this.
She is known as well for her beautiful rich, warm and velvet tone in her upper register.
But what blows me away in addition to this are her interpretation skills, her phrasing, diction, and her ability to switch from speaking to singing in many different languages. This is nuts!

Hi Eric, that doesn’t surprise me at all! I totally agree with you on all accounts and her many language skills are equally impressive!🔥🔥🎤

@@youcansing2vanessae.vocalcoach and on the language side, she is so gifted rhat she even masters the reguonal accent and dialects!
When she speaks french, she completely modulates depending of if she is in Quebec, France or Belgium. You think she is native from each (she is only from belgium).
When she sings Caruso, she uses the napolitan dialect and accent. Because the song was written and the story is located in this area.
      Mindblowing !

Incredible. Best rendition of Caruso, period. Please react to “You’re not from here” and “Adagio” from the same concert.

    Hi, Vanessa.
Everything that this woman does is linked to her perfect interpretation of a song. So many processes happen in quick succession whilst singing. (i) Choices when to use chest voice, head voice, mixed voice, vocal fry often confused with "breathiness"; (ii) phrasing; (iii) crescendo and decrescendo; (iv) diction in both sung and spoken parts. All of these involves more than one part of the voice as a musical instrument - from the diaphragm to through larynx to the teeth! Together all of these help create emotions of different kinds,...depending on the mood required, some to a lesser or greater degree.
In a live performance, appropriate body language will further enhance the vocally created emotions.
Lara uses everything mentioned here perfectly simply because she has perfected the connection of part of her instrument to the relevant part of the story!
This is also why during rehearsals, communication between the singer and the instrumentalists is vital to sort out and agree on how things are to be interpreted in order to get the best result. Every aspect, every detail needs to be covered.
    Enough said!
Thank you for a splendid reaction.

I heard Luciano's version of Caruso; I like Lara's version better. She puts more, feeling into her version. PS, I love your reactions to Lara, songs

Vanessa, I love your reactions to Lara's live performances. You must be a talented singer yourself to so uniquely see and analyze what she's doing. You're also a beautiful woman who just by speaking shows that your vocal control is up there too. It's a pleasure seeing your reactions to her. How I never knew Lara existed until a year ago is a shame. I am a great music lover, instrumental and vocal, and it is truly a universal language all of it's own. There is something so magical about good music, even animals are attracted and mesmerized by it, explain that. Lara is one of the best at tapping into the emotion of musical and vocal sound. She says in many interviews she practices almost daily and exercises her "vocal instrument", so like you have said, she knows what she's doing. Seeing her in person would be on my bucket list. Thanks for your videos. Preston

TY great reaction, great song, done perfectly. Imagine the heart ache of the dying Caruso saying goodbye to his young wife and leaving a child behind. Lara makes this tragedy come home. I am old enough to have seen the maestro, Luciano, live. My friends and I adored him. It is hard to put into words how great he was so it is with great respect, molto rispetto, to the maestro when I say I like Lara's version better.

Loved watching your face, watching her. This is the primary reason I watch reaction videos - to relive that amazing experience of hearing and seeing Ms. Fabian's interpretations for the first time. Or even for the hundredth time, frankly - because I've watched this countless times and am transported every single time.

Some songs are just naturally associated with a particular singer ........in this case, for example, I always thought of Pavorati when I heard this ............UNTIL NOW ! Lara Fabian sings this as the composer intended - she LIVES the story and somehow invites each audience member to LIVE the story WITH her - truly a master class when she sings - she magically seems to sing to each member alone _ the Ultimate Artist !

As a vocal couach can you explain HOW ?
she's THE ONE who can sing and really sing in every positions
even in her phrasing she is able to phrase all on that and she's still able to produce an absurd amount of resonance on every single note

Hello, could I request a reaction please ? The song is called If I can dream by Elvis Presley. For me it is one of the greatest performances in history. I request it because you enjoyed the emotion of the way Lara sings this song. If you do react to it is the one of him wearing the white suit in 1968. Thank you.

Can I make a request for a song? Could you react to Sissel Kyrkjebø? She is the national treasure of Norway and has an amazing voice. She did the background music of the 1997 Titanic movie, so you probably have heard her voice before. Could you react to Sissel performing "Pie Jesu"? ( ruclips.net/video/7QVDoYghauo/видео.html )
