Just wanna say about the middle part there: Ed Sheeran's documentary the sum of it all made me cry so hard he just had a really rough time with his pregnant wife being diagnosed with cancer, a week later his best friend dies, a week later he's in a court case he eventually won but was dragged to hell by the press, and another friend died whist in the court case.. thats horrific and i felt so much sympathy for him 😢 i think everyone whether a fan or not should watch that documentary because essentially it wasn't about a musician but it was about grief.. hard recommend. He also said he had like hour long conversations with taylor all the time and i adore their friendship🥺

I’ve been thinking lately as a sociology student that Swifties would be such a fascinating subject for studies, and I’m right
I‘m not studying sociology but I feel exactly the same. Over the last few years I found myself when I watch a movie or observe online „drama“ I’m way more interested in the human behavior and relationships than in the actual topic. In moments like this I wish I had continued my philosophy degree and combined it with sociology. Well now it’s my hobby 😂

imo it's not just Swifties, it's the idol stanning phenomenon in general. The age of the internet has made it ever possible for those with massive platforms to play into the parasocial nature of their fans and lead them on, make them think they know their idol. It's a distasteful side effect of capitalism that that sort of behavior sells more albums and tickets than genuinely writing great music, but then again, it's just one of many.

I was getting my master’s in translation and linguistics, so I did an analysis of why context is important when translating songs, they must not only rhyme or be singable in the new language, they must also maintain their context. To test my theory I used theories of rap and poetry translation. I translated the rep and folklore albums. I studied her writing style, the decisions to use capital or lowercase letters, the literary figures she prefers to use, the references she makes to her own discography, the literary work of other arrists or to pop culture. It goes deep into my field of study, but I this is a good overview, I think.

JFK was decently progressive for a super rich white dude who was born in the 1910s. His main achievements are not going to nuclear war with the soviet union, proposing the legislation that became the civil rights act, and starting the moon program. He also tried for some decent social programs, but they were all blocked. On the negative column, he tried to invade cuba which was a big part of why there was almost a nuclear war in the first place, he continued and escalated the war in vietnam, and he took action on civil rights slowly and reluctantly. Definitely in the top half of 20th century presidents, but, y'know, that's faint praise.

Realistically, Taylor cannot ever even CONSIDER flying commercial. Just look at what happens whenever she’s spotted in NYC for a second. Or what happened at Jack’s wedding. Fans, paparazzi, randoms flock to get a glimpse. It would be a risk to her personal safety as well as general public safety if she were to fly commercial. And it’s not like she can just - not fly. Celebrities in their prime are incredibly mobile. If I was that famous - that vulnerable to physical and mental threats from all sides and with that much money to afford precautions- I would probably be flying private more than her 🤷🏻♀️
I was going to say this too. Taylor flying commercial just isn't feasible in terms of her safety and peace of mind, nor her schedule. Besides, she's better than most considering she purchased double the necessary carbon credits to offset emissions ahead of the eras tour.

Really enjoying the video and as a Taylor fan always am ready to embrace the music and mess, yet find it hypocritical that the age difference for both the jake g and john m relationships was mentioned but not the that of an adult taylor with a 17-18 year old conor kennedy, plus how unhinged it was to buy that house right next to him when he was dealing with the death of his mother

Taylor has always caused me so much mental turmoil of hate and love. She constantly throws me back to feeling like I'm watching high school drama. Where's the therapy and just letting go? Why does one have to publically own everything, I get it as someone whose not been able to control the narrative of my own life and those around me. But then I've also let that go in about 10 yrs less time. If I was that well known for that long and loved still by a huge audience, I wouldn't be concerned about proving how 'right' I am or who my friends are. I'd just be living my life.
