  • A client wanted me to strip off the paint of an old storage chest she got from a thrift store. Little did we know that it's an old US Army footlocker, which I suspect dates back to the 40's. This video shows how I restored this old trunk.

    This is not a foot locker but more a transportation box for unit or personal gear. It appears to have a “tac mark”. I have one from my late father in law and WW2 vet

    It reminds me of my grandfather. He owns one like that and inside was a Philippine map and other items.

    What type of paint did you use on the metal parts? I just inherited two of my grandads army trunks and lookin to paint them.

      Epoxy primer and then black house paint. I used acrylic, but enamel is better. The gold effect is metallic acrylic.
