Awesome Video, really fun hot take of a beautiful snare. I worked at Hoshino back in the 90’s and we had one kicking around the warehouse. I begged them to let me buy it but got shot down. Then Dave Grohl came through and fell in love with it and got to take it home. I’m still salty
Hi I'm Bobby Bingis I was sent here by my friend Barnaby Bornaboy, I was told you're a cool drummer with goofy shirts. I can certainly confirm you are indeed, a cool drummer with goofy shirts. Also I dig your drums with the coated resonant heads, I've recently done the same with mine, they punch in quick and get out quick. Have you ever tried an Evans Emad on a 16" floor tom yet? Tune her low for some thumpy fun especially when you mic it with a compressor.
lol Bobby Bingus! Hi Dan. Thanks for stopping by. I haven't tried the EMAND on the kick yet. Are you talking about using that on the batter or the resonant side? Either way, I'm intrigued!
So Evans makes their traditional Emad head with a built in adjustable dampening ring for kick drums. You can also get one for a 16" floor tom batter which is fun to use as a secondary kick but keep in mind if you look for one online in has to be a tom hoop instead of a kick drum hoop. If you google it type in Evans EMAD Clear Drumhead - 16 inch - Tom Hoop. There's also some videos here of it being played. I used one for a few months and the sound engineers at venues loved my floor tom due to it's punch but lack of nasty overtones. @@timbofromkeno
I appreciate the kind words AND the feedback. It’s a balance, right? I don’t do sound replacement or quantizing because it feels too fake to me, but I want my production to sound modern enough that folks understand what these things can do in a studio setting. Maybe one day, when I have way more time on my hands, I’ll make even more demo videos that feature very simple miking and very little processing. Say a little prayer that this channel grows and allows me to do so, and we’ll both get what we want! 😂❤️👊
That's a holy grail, and you possess it. This drum has moved to the top of my bucket list.
It’s a super bucket list drum for sure. Worth picking up if you can find one!
Is your superb playing what makes this brutal sound. I enjoy your videos a lot.
Gracias Joan! I truly appreciate the kind words. I will post more fun videos soon! : )
so you're telling me I need to get a 14x8!
That's EXACTLY what I'm telling you. hahahaha
Who doesn't own a 14x8? Are you even a drummer?!

That is a WILD story. Thanks for sharing that! I think I’d be salty after all these years too. No shame in that! 😂👊
Love that Tama Rosewood
It’s a super fun drum!
Thanks for the tip on the uv2. I love the open sound of a single ply head but hate having to replace them so often
I love that head. Let me know if you dig it once you get hands on one!!
This drum is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you got a kick out of it, Louis. More fun stuff to come! 😁👊
That’s a good, beefy lookin snare! Killer tone from the rosewood too!
100%! Thanks Austin! 😁👊

That snare is a Monster! Wow so cool!

Another reason rosewood is the best!
Yes! 😁👊
THIS BE LOUD WITH THAT DRUM is how I read the title of this video 😂 very nice drum
That title is basically how I talk, so it's on brand. LOL
It's monosyllabic. Me Tarzan! I have a 14" X 12" Premier HTS 800. Maybe I should use that drum be so loud go boom.

Great drum, great video 👊
Thanks Ferg! ❤️👊
The Japanese surely can craft artisan-level musical instruments....
Between Yamaha, Pearl, AND Tama-they’ve got some of the best builders in the world!
…as well as Sonor (SQ2 and their One of a Kind snares).
@@si1995gtnupe1997 Germany certainly has its fair share of incredible builders too!
There ain't nothing wrong with being short and thicc.
100%! 😂❤️👊
Stop it, I can't afford one 😅
Same! 😂❤️👊
I wish your recordings were more, true to the room sound. Less effects and processing. Nonetheless, your videos are entertaining.
