2023 Toyota Camry LE 2.5 4cyl 8 Speed Auto 0-100 mph. Note - I kept the accelerator pedal 100% depressed the entire pull. Not sure why there is a bog after the 3rd gear shift at 60 mph.
I got 7.0 -> 7.1 seconds. Trying to be somewhat liberal since I own a '24 Camry SE. These have n/a motors that are built to last. I played the video ten times and averaged out the sprints to 60 mph. Nice job!
a thing I've noticed, the hotter the transmission becomes, the snappier the shifts become and it shifts at a higher rpm. I remember I had a 2023 Toyota RAV4 that I test drove (it was a rental) and I'd notice the same thing. After a few spirited runs, I noticed the transmission become much more crisp, its almost like the operational temp is too low for the transmission and acts rather lazy as a result. Samething for even the Lexus ISF, RCF, any Toyota that has the 8 speed has this 'issue'
@alexanderkennedy2969 overheating a transmission is wat kills them... they have oil so they clearly have to be at a hot enough temperature for it to operate well... in this case operating temp.
@alexanderkennedy2969 drive one bro and then you wull see wat im talking about. the rav4 does this, the camry does this, even the 8 speed rcf does this too
Was this down hill? Because if it wasn't, toyota should be ashamed of the v6's performance 😂 Sadly the 0-60 time and pick up is almost exactly identical😂
@@JD-hk7oeOooh. Sorry. I completely misunderstood. I agree. The 4cyl is an awesome engine. Has plenty of get up and go. Also, Yes! It was done on a completely flat road @ sea level. Regular gas.
@@belizetj no it wouldn’t lol, the top end, i would outrun your slow ass 😂 Just watch my short. Many races with wrx. Dead even until 80 and then I just pull.

remember when we had the 89 and 90 camry about 13 or 14 years ago commenting on each others vids? wow man times past fast! hope youre doing well
Heck yeah man. That was quite a while ago. I'm surprised to see you are still active after so many years.
I've been great. And yourself?
haha still hanging around! Feeling MUCH older than those good times LOL@@belizetj

as the transmission reaches the right temperature it quickens things up, that’s pretty standard!
My sienna 8spd shifted deeper in redline when it was cooler butnif cold it could limit the rpm
Not bad for a NA 2.5. Gear spacing seems far like most Toyota 8 speeds but shifts well
All 8 speeds are the same from Toyota and Lexus when they come in FWD/AWD models except for longitudinal mounted engines like in the LS and GS
Honestly needs a shorter final drive because the camries barely use 8th
the gears look extremely tall
@@dimmacommunication They are
Was this done in manual mode or fully automatic?
That bog at 3rd gear probably was the TCC locking up. Very normal behavior with modern automatic transmission.
Very sporty sounding engine
Not bad, 7.2 seconds
The camry transmission does change from 4gear to 6gear without the 5th with no issues, that is the bug you mentioned
6.95 nice
It sounds From K24A
What is ocatane of the petrol u put in the car
It would be cool if second gear was shorter.
Yeah. It's too long. Same with my Tacoma. The first gear is sluggish. Guess its a newer Toyota thing.
Switch to gears. 2..3.4.5..it's way faster.
no it's not faster. 7 seconds 0-60 is already best case scenario for this 2.5.
nice! ima do a 0-60 in my 2021 2.5 SE to compare
Nice man. Lmk when you do.

Heck no wayyy slower

Yes

I don’t feel like my 2015 V6 Avalon would pull away until after 60😅
@alexanderkennedy2969Frr
@alexanderkennedy2969I think the point is its power band is higher up.
Must be non hybrid hybrid 2023 does zero to 100 in 7.8 seconds bit slower but uses half the fuel as this crap
And in 10 years from now when this is running strong. Your hybrid will be crap. 🤷🏻♂️

Non-CVT. 8 speed Auto.
