Working with the new Unity Engine has really contributed to a much easier workflow for our testers, and has been instrumental in helping us to release fixes and new builds at a much faster pace than we have ever been able to in the past. one small inconvenience ive noticed is the dead zones for controller users. If the controller has the smallest amount of wear and tear, drift is near constant. not too big of a problem, but its noticable.
My personal headcanon for the trophy room dinosaurs, where bringing back tranquilized ones is concerned at the moment, is that the people back at base simply scan them, weigh and measure them, and then make a sort of realistic hologram (perhaps even with a force field for their solid feel, why not, it's sci-fi, and look how fast you can set up your trophies via your device xP), then re-release the creatures once they wake up. Feels better to think about it that way. x3 Definitely agree on only bringing back dead dinosaurs for trophies though.
I legit think that’s similar to the idea I had in my Modern Days showcase, except instead of releasing the dinosaurs, they sold them to the highest bidder 😅
That’s definitely not just a head canon. The fact they are solid and I can’t be walked through is more of a invisible wall situation since you can’t walk onto the pads that they appear on even if there isn’t one on there and they literally are like transparent and blue and have lines on them if you don’t turn on the option to keep them in one place so it’s pretty much just confirmed that they are holograms and then there’s no other explanation that has this much evidence.
@@goldenfrogstudios Indeed! I did just however find out that you can read the user manual for the game on their website. All In The Manual, as the trope goes, the trophies aren't actually holograms, but basically 3D-printed sculptures. The more you know! XD
The rifle bullet always in the chamber would not be good, pulling the bolt back, loading a bullet in, and closing the bolt could cause a double feed, which could cause a catastrophic malfunction, causing the gun to blow up.
@@SaurianTarget Eh, it wouldn’t blow up the gun, the gun would simply jam and you’d have to knock out the stuck case somehow if the extractor isn’t working.

The way I figured it was working with bringing back tranquilized dinosaurs is similar to what some trophy makers would do for sports fishermen? Especially for those who catch & release, the fishermen can take their photos of their catch before they release it, bring the photos to a professional who specializes in sculpting, modeling and painting, and they will reproduce a lifelike fiberglass replica of the fishermen's catches. So I kinda figured that might have been what was going on with adding tranqued dinos to the trophy room - a sort of catch & release, where the "trophy" dinosaurs may have been returned to their preserves after they were scanned and studied to recreate their likeness for the hunter's trophy room?
You're right on target with the glitched for the rifle, and I would love a sniper reload animation. I do wish there would be ammunition differences between tranq and lethal. Like changing the rounds to darts. As for additional weapons: I'd like an M1 style semi auto rifle, a Spas style shotgun, and a new magnum style pistol.
Walst so.e rifles are unique, you seem right about the rifle. (Only example of a strange reload would be the lebel 1889, its is a strange rifle but it's the first smokeless bolt action.)
These are all great suggestions. One thing in particular I have a hard time with is the deadzone of the camera pan, or right analog on controller. It is very sensitive and hard to control so if a deadzone option to adjust could be added to the menu next to the updated sensitivities, that would help improve gameplay significantly
To go with the “hold to ads” I think it would be nice to add button layout options. like either completely custom button binds, or preset layouts. I think to have the original HD controls would be awesome
Now this is something that has never been in one of these games before (to my knowledge), but could add some immersion. If you shoot an animal with a tranquilizer directly into the heart, realistically, it would just die. I'm not saying that should be added, but what I am saying is that tranquilizer darts should have different weak points to aim for that would result in cleaner or faster takedowns, instead of right for the vitals, since tranquilizer darts aren't designed to punch through targets like regular bullets are. Places with lots of bloodflow like the neck or thigh could replace the heart and lungs as weak points for tranquilizers, and for taking out charging carnivores, the mouth still fits perfectly as a good place to aim for KOs.
What i would personally suggest that is added on the game is more realistic aspects that would help immersion. For example, when pulling the bolt on the rifle, you would pull the bolt by your other hand and cover the chamber so that the round inside the chamber wont come out. Or, having to reload using the magazine rather than the usual one by one reload. What i would really like implemented to the game is different ammunition types and different scopes for every weapon. For example, you can either use 50 bmg on your sniper rifle or 338 lapua magnum, either 7.62 on your rifle or 300 winchester magnum, so on and so forth. For scopes, there would be option to equip either a TA64 Acog rifle scope or a PM II sniper scope for the rifle, so on and so forth. Or, when hunting at night, rain or fog, there would be a option to add a thermal scope to your rifle. For weapons that i would like to be added to the game, i would like it to have a variety. So, i would write down my personal suggestions down below. M16A4 • Standard 5.56 rifle with a plethora of attachment options. HK 433 • Similar to the M16A4 but with with the option to fire in full auto rather than semi auto or burst. AS VAL • Fires 9×39mm sub-sonic rounds that can pierce almost all dinosaur armor. AK 103 • Modern 7.62 rifle fitted for the russian special forces. Capable of downing most dinosaurs in a well placed burst to the chest or the head. Mossberg 500 • Fires 12-gauge buckshot shells with minimal penetration value at 30 to 40 yards. Saiga 12k • Semi auto shotgun with more attachment options compared to your usual pump-action shotgun. MP7 • Compact PDW for special forces use. Now with 4.6×30mm AP rounds that can be somewhat effective at range. Scorpion EVO 3 • This almost futuristic PDW fires 9×19 ammo at 1150 rounds per minute. Almost like a bullet hose rather than a hunting weapon. Good for cqc though. SKS • The standard Tapco SKS that fires 7.62×39 ammo. Semi auto gives you more chances to hit something rather than bolting. FN FAL • Fires 7.62×51 Nato rounds at 650 rounds per minute. Now used for hunting, its suggested that you use this weapon at semi auto. Remington 700 • Standard sniper rifle. (I dont wanna give these weapons a description anymore...) SV-98 • A rather rare sniper rifle made by the russians. The power of the 7.62 that it fires is perfectly implemented when it comes to ranged shots. M82A1 • Do i even need a explanation? So yeah, thats all the weapons... I would love to see more come out from this game and i hope this comment would help them improve the game juuuust a tad bit. Of course there aplenty of stuff i can think of when it comes to realism but this is all for now.
@@jacktheomnithere2127 Escape From Tarkov is a game where you have realistic loadouts, weapon mechanics and stuff. So, for example, you can customize the handguard of your M4A1 from a heatsheild to a railed one. Or change the ammunition of your MP7 from FMJ to AP rounds. What im saying here is that this game is "too realistic". It's either you would like to have your HK416 railed handguard to have 10+ lasers, add a literal CCTV (Thermal sight) camera to yout P90, or even worse, saw off the barrel of your Mosin Nagant, add a 50× scope on it and add a shit-ton of MRO's (Miniature Rifle Sight). It's basically nightmare fuel for people who loves guns.
I would love to see more dinosaurs/unlockable variation for the hunting roster or at minimum give choices to pick which dinosaurs we wanted. The old weapons touched up pertaining down sight speed and reloading . I agree on getting a bigger variety of weapons, camouflage skins , weapon upgrades possibly thermal for the more foggy /night visions ,stock ,barrel..ect. What if instead of a constant scent cover we get spray cans that mask scent or is an attractant for 5mins . The scent could also be washed off by water / rain. Maps need player accessible mountains ,lava,water areas ,old runes , pyrimaids . A few boxes here and there is meh. Instead of differnt times of day on separate maps more maps with time rotation. This would be great for the sky changing time and color weather. Trophy room ABSOLUTELY NEEDS a sorting system during the replacement of trophies. You click on the placement area for the trophy then select the dinosaurs and/or variation then you can sort by weight, distance killed, size thus allowing the player to select easily delete and keep the room updated . The videos are fantastic keep it up!!
I understand that you’re talking about Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt, but I think a good future video is what you & others think would be a good remake for Primal Prey, such as what needs to change, what should be kept, what would some good or needed dlc content be. I think that for future dinosaur dlcs we should look at the paleoartist that inspired the designs, & see the other dinos he made.
Reminder: The Carnivores games takes place sometime after the year 2190, so there could be some crazy technology at play when it comes to the sniper rifle's magazine size.
Well I pretty much have to agree with everything you said in this video (excellent work). I would like to see a bit more options in the weapons, different scopes and different loads like in COTW. Polymer tips to punch through or lead to do more damage. Different bolts for the different dinosaurs, a lighter one for the Para and a heavier one for the Anky. Please, please fix the animals running into a cliff and killing you on top..
Idk bout you but we really need more weapons especially in the shotgun category and we don't even have a single shotgun, a weapon mostly used for hunting. A double barrel would be a good alternative for the revolver. High stopping power but low ammo capacity. A pump action shotgun can be used for Self-defence. A semi auto rifle and pistol would be a good addition. They would have a higher capacity but have weaker bullets.
It would be nice to see an stripper clip upgrade for the starter rifle and I would like to think this sniper rifle is actually an anti-material rifle (but you wouldn't want to be shouldering it while standing irl) with an semi-fixed magazine to answer the lack of an reload animation except for the double ammo which in that case it would add an long reload animation as the hunter/player would be messing around with screws and stuff to replace it.
They should add challenges with cool rewards, like dinosaur or weapon skins, to encourage players to keep playing the game. The better the reward, the harder the challenge gets. I can imagine people showing off their blue firedragon crossbow, only obtained by killing 1000 rexes with a crossbow
I just started playing Carnivores. I forgot it even existed until I saw it in Steam. In the short time, I've been playing it, (About 2 hours) from what I remember, it is much more fun to play.
This is technically for new weapons but if we choose the tranq rifle(If it's a whole new weapons instead of a perk) Then it would be recommended to add a tranq pistol for emergencies instead of the revolver to keep in line with the humain aspect of tranq weapons and adds an additional challenge to give a sightly higher boost than the rifle due to it being the weaker of the two weapons, that might however make it not the best weapon to use in an emergency but I'm no game dev so the professionals may be able to iron out the finer details. Any comments? Agreements or disagreements?
Hadn’t really thought of using a tranq pistol. I always imagined you’d still take the revolver with the tranq rifle, since if you’re in an emergency, you might not have time to wait for the sedative to take effect and need to just put a dinosaur down.
@@SaurianTarget Fair point, just remembering your comment of Tranquilizing bullets being dumb in your Carnivores Genieis ideas video. Also, the OG Carnivores described Tranquilizers as fast acting so I'm not sure if time for the sedative to kick is the issue.
I have 2 ideas, of how the player ranking system would perhaps work. The first one is quite simple, the idea you proposed, just with a experience bar below the rank. To show how far you are from the next rank. The other idea is kinda technical. On the screen where you pick the dinosaurs, items, etc (at 6:32) for your hunt, where you placed the ranking level in the top right, there could possibly be a player information icon with a badge (of the current rank) or just a button that says "More Information" under the rank text, that you could click to enter the players rank and information screen. This screen would include the player's rank with perhaps a experience bar below it, that shows you how far you are from the next rank. Other Information could be added here as well, like total dinosaurs hunted (this could be a simple number or have a pie chart with dinosaur percentage like "23% of hunted dinosaurs were Triceratops"), Best dinosaur trophy could be included and perhaps achievements could be added which when completed could possibly reward the player with extra trophies towards leveling up to the next rank. I’ve covered how the weapons work pretty extensively in other videos, but for a quick overview: The rifle is a good all-around weapon for medium-to-close distances The crossbow is silent and powerful, but you’ll have to account for the bolt drop at long range The sniper rifle is loud and powerful and shoots exactly where the crosshair is, just point and click, but it’s not good for close-range shots The revolver is a decent backup weapon, but make sure your target is close or you’ll never hit it
I want sawn off db shotgun. It would be nice to have a weapon that reloads quickly after every few shot, It just feels good. Also I REALLY like the retriever bot chime.
Can they introduce a stand for the sniper rifile? Cause the hunter always move the weapon by a little when you’re aiming,making you sometime aiming the wrong place....
(Its suggestion don't take it seriously) I have idea that some indie modder (like murttheburt and tormer) can make weapons for carnivores dinosaur hunt and also maps,dinosaurs and release it in dlc! That would be a great idea for carnivores dinosaur hunt
While a Deagle would be really cool, I think the sidearm revolver already fits the role that a Deagle would, so I don't think it's necessary. Personally I'd like a shotgun or a semi automatic rifle to be added, since both of those would be more unique.
For a weapon feature id really like a scope for the regular rifle and maby even a silencer for the sniper and maby for the crossbow we cud maby have the ability to remove the scope or add more damaging bolts that are however maby heavier so you can only shoot 200 meters with them
I always wanted to know what was kill spot for the trex? my shots are always random in the head like I shot him in nostrils and that immediately took him down while other times it has no effect? Or I shot him directly in the mouth at full charge with a pistol and he goes down?
9:22 hello dev, I don’t agree with the video here, bringing back tranquilized dinos has been a cool feature included in the PS3 version. But it’s not like it matters considering this game only allows to kill with tranquilizing animations
i agree with speeding up the rifle's reload animation. it's fun, but reloading is a problem. for a new weapon, i vote for the shotgun. ever heard of slug shots? as Jacksepticeye described them in one of his The Hunter Primal videos, they're "big balls of lead". better ammo for the shotgun compared to buck shots. i wish that we could carry more than one weapon (not counting the revolver). you could in HD and Reborn, but not in Dinosaur Hunt. as much as i like the sniper rifle, i'd like to mix up my hunting strategy instead of going back and forth to switch weapon. so the ability to carry multiple weapons would be great.
I asked on Facebook and the answer is as follows: Thanks for feedback Until this point, we did not have plans to add AK style and m249 like weapons, but if majority of community will ask for this content we'll definitely make sure to alter our plans to introduce it to the game. ngl I want there to be more movement mechanics for the hunter. like sliding or even a dodge where he throws himself to the side. especially so if raptors get added in the future.
I would like to see a better trophy room similar to the original game. We currently have a metal platform out in the middle of the ocean. This is very silly and pointless. Also give us the option to delete unwanted trophies.

@@jacktheomnithere2127 Escape From Tarkov is a game where you have realistic loadouts, weapon mechanics and stuff.
So, for example, you can customize the handguard of your M4A1 from a heatsheild to a railed one. Or change the ammunition of your MP7 from FMJ to AP rounds.
What im saying here is that this game is "too realistic".
It's either you would like to have your HK416 railed handguard to have 10+ lasers, add a literal CCTV (Thermal sight) camera to yout P90, or even worse, saw off the barrel of your Mosin Nagant, add a 50× scope on it and add a shit-ton of MRO's (Miniature Rifle Sight).
It's basically nightmare fuel for people who loves guns.
I would love to see more dinosaurs/unlockable variation for the hunting roster or at minimum give choices to pick which dinosaurs we wanted. The old weapons touched up pertaining down sight speed and reloading . I agree on getting a bigger variety of weapons, camouflage skins , weapon upgrades possibly thermal for the more foggy /night visions ,stock ,barrel..ect. What if instead of a constant scent cover we get spray cans that mask scent or is an attractant for 5mins . The scent could also be washed off by water / rain. Maps need player accessible mountains ,lava,water areas ,old runes , pyrimaids . A few boxes here and there is meh. Instead of differnt times of day on separate maps more maps with time rotation. This would be great for the sky changing time and color weather. Trophy room ABSOLUTELY NEEDS a sorting system during the replacement of trophies. You click on the placement area for the trophy then select the dinosaurs and/or variation then you can sort by weight, distance killed, size thus allowing the player to select easily delete and keep the room updated . The videos are fantastic keep it up!!
I understand that you’re talking about Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt, but I think a good future video is what you & others think would be a good remake for Primal Prey,
such as what needs to change, what should be kept, what would some good or needed dlc content be.
I think that for future dinosaur dlcs we should look at the paleoartist that inspired the designs, & see the other dinos he made.
Reminder: The Carnivores games takes place sometime after the year 2190, so there could be some crazy technology at play when it comes to the sniper rifle's magazine size.

Well I pretty much have to agree with everything you said in this video (excellent work). I would like to see a bit more options in the weapons, different scopes and different loads like in COTW. Polymer tips to punch through or lead to do more damage. Different bolts for the different dinosaurs, a lighter one for the Para and a heavier one for the Anky. Please, please fix the animals running into a cliff and killing you on top..

Idk bout you but we really need more weapons especially in the shotgun category and we don't even have a single shotgun, a weapon mostly used for hunting. A double barrel would be a good alternative for the revolver. High stopping power but low ammo capacity. A pump action shotgun can be used for Self-defence. A semi auto rifle and pistol would be a good addition. They would have a higher capacity but have weaker bullets.
It would be nice to see an stripper clip upgrade for the starter rifle and I would like to think this sniper rifle is actually an anti-material rifle (but you wouldn't want to be shouldering it while standing irl) with an semi-fixed magazine to answer the lack of an reload animation except for the double ammo which in that case it would add an long reload animation as the hunter/player would be messing around with screws and stuff to replace it.
They should add challenges with cool rewards, like dinosaur or weapon skins, to encourage players to keep playing the game. The better the reward, the harder the challenge gets. I can imagine people showing off their blue firedragon crossbow, only obtained by killing 1000 rexes with a crossbow

I just started playing Carnivores. I forgot it even existed until I saw it in Steam. In the short time, I've been playing it, (About 2 hours) from what I remember, it is much more fun to play.

The shotgun is for sure missing. The original carnivores game pictured a Mossberg 590 with a heatshield.
I don't hate the drone chime, but the sound design overall could use an overhaul.
This is technically for new weapons but if we choose the tranq rifle(If it's a whole new weapons instead of a perk) Then it would be recommended to add a tranq pistol for emergencies instead of the revolver to keep in line with the humain aspect of tranq weapons and adds an additional challenge to give a sightly higher boost than the rifle due to it being the weaker of the two weapons, that might however make it not the best weapon to use in an emergency but I'm no game dev so the professionals may be able to iron out the finer details. Any comments? Agreements or disagreements?
Hadn’t really thought of using a tranq pistol. I always imagined you’d still take the revolver with the tranq rifle, since if you’re in an emergency, you might not have time to wait for the sedative to take effect and need to just put a dinosaur down.
@@SaurianTarget Fair point, just remembering your comment of Tranquilizing bullets being dumb in your Carnivores Genieis ideas video. Also, the OG Carnivores described Tranquilizers as fast acting so I'm not sure if time for the sedative to kick is the issue.
I have 2 ideas, of how the player ranking system would perhaps work. The first one is quite simple, the idea you proposed, just with a experience bar below the rank. To show how far you are from the next rank. The other idea is kinda technical. On the screen where you pick the dinosaurs, items, etc (at 6:32) for your hunt, where you placed the ranking level in the top right, there could possibly be a player information icon with a badge (of the current rank) or just a button that says "More Information" under the rank text, that you could click to enter the players rank and information screen. This screen would include the player's rank with perhaps a experience bar below it, that shows you how far you are from the next rank. Other Information could be added here as well, like total dinosaurs hunted (this could be a simple number or have a pie chart with dinosaur percentage like "23% of hunted dinosaurs were Triceratops"), Best dinosaur trophy could be included and perhaps achievements could be added which when completed could possibly reward the player with extra trophies towards leveling up to the next rank. I’ve covered how the weapons work pretty extensively in other videos, but for a quick overview:
The rifle is a good all-around weapon for medium-to-close distances
The crossbow is silent and powerful, but you’ll have to account for the bolt drop at long range
The sniper rifle is loud and powerful and shoots exactly where the crosshair is, just point and click, but it’s not good for close-range shots
The revolver is a decent backup weapon, but make sure your target is close or you’ll never hit it
I want sawn off db shotgun. It would be nice to have a weapon that reloads quickly after every few shot, It just feels good. Also I REALLY like the retriever bot chime.

No I think hunter can prone for *perfect* shot and a biopod on sniper is not a bad idea!

A gun I want would be a deagle
While a Deagle would be really cool, I think the sidearm revolver already fits the role that a Deagle would, so I don't think it's necessary. Personally I'd like a shotgun or a semi automatic rifle to be added, since both of those would be more unique.

For a weapon feature id really like a scope for the regular rifle and maby even a silencer for the sniper and maby for the crossbow we cud maby have the ability to remove the scope or add more damaging bolts that are however maby heavier so you can only shoot 200 meters with them
Customizable weapons with skins and attachments are high priority for the community!

I always wanted to know what was kill spot for the trex? my shots are always random in the head like I shot him in nostrils and that immediately took him down while other times it has no effect? Or I shot him directly in the mouth at full charge with a pistol and he goes down?

ever heard of slug shots? as Jacksepticeye described them in one of his The Hunter Primal videos, they're "big balls of lead". better ammo for the shotgun compared to buck shots.
i wish that we could carry more than one weapon (not counting the revolver). you could in HD and Reborn, but not in Dinosaur Hunt.
as much as i like the sniper rifle, i'd like to mix up my hunting strategy instead of going back and forth to switch weapon. so the ability to carry multiple weapons would be great.
