I really think the career mode team should just put all their focus on FIFA 25/26. Ive heard the reason for the small updates each year is because the code is so old. They should just revamp the whole code and make career mode from scratch.

I played Fifa 16 a lot, you automatically understand when the long shot will be a goal, and these shots are purely by chance. A man with 79 overalls in the midfield scores his 5th goal in his career.
Seeing everyone share their Career Mode stories, I thought I'd share mine too (even if I'm a year late). I started a Career Mode with Cork City in FIFA 17. The team’s overall rating was pretty low-my highest-rated player was a 62, if I remember correctly. I focused on signing as many free agents as possible, brought in a young Irish wonderkid from the academy, and even managed to land Buffon’s regen from Italy, named Morra.Despite the odds, I took this team to incredible heights, winning both a Champions League and a Europa League within six years. That sense of achievement was unmatched! The following year, the team that won the league automatically qualified for the Champions League, which made the journey even sweeter. Man, the old FIFA games always hit me with a wave of nostalgia.
Requesting funds, u23 teams, stadium builder, manager sackings, increase board harshness (optional) and online career mode are some things that come to mind. I'd take 3 out of these in the next 5 FIFA's or EAFC games🥴 they're so slow and my expectations every year just get lower and lower
I stopped playing fifa after fifa 17 and only recently came back for fifa 23. i have to say, while the differences might feel small they make a HUGE difference in each match. I felt so much more immersed into the game than I ever have, but there are certainly some complaints. For starters the “news” menu sucks and needs some serious bulking, the bugs and glitches need to be addressed, and it feels like there are pieces missing in the “activities” window. Far better that 17, not the best they could be doing
While the gameplay is more smooth and fluid in the newer fifa's, the old ones felt more realistic. First touches and turning with the ball and things like that were harder if your player didn't have really high agility and ball control, defending was more physical, mechanics just seemed more realistic as the ball didn't just stick to every player like glue and there was much more of a discrepancy in players with good or poor ball skills, shooting, and high or low pace. On FIFA 23 I can score 20 goals in a season with a striker with 50-some finishing, but in the older fifa's like 19 and back I would be lucky to get a few goals with a player like that. More draws, more low scoring games, also more realistic. Feature wise the new ones have more, but to me the old ones feel more like a simulation and the new ones more like fantasy/arcade.
I just bought both 16 and 23 recently (16 in December 2022) and fifa 23 just a few weeks ago. I only play player career mode. Both on PS4. Maybe it was a gltich in 16, but I could not get out of my first club. I kept trying to accept offers but nothing. Gameplay is great, I found the difficulty harder (which is good cause i like the challenege) and I like the accomplishments to get attribute boosts to actually give games some meaning and score different kind of goals. You don't have to do training sessions but you are stuck with your attributes. You can get to 90 overall but unless you make your player around 5'6 your player wont every too fast (even with being 5'6 you can only be around 90 speed and 88 accerlation max). Overall tho it feels great fun graphics are good and it has a classic fifa feel to it. There's a few things that are annoying about fifa 23 career mode but overall I think it's great and much better improvement. Gameplay is defs smoother graphics is better more a modern feel to the game (cutscenes, arena etc). But even the way you can customise your player is much better. You can change your height and weight at any time to play aroound with different builds but also you get Skills points and you can use these skill points to upgrade any atrribute you want and you can always change it. you never stuck with just one set of attributes. You can make your player as balanced or as titled as you like. Also in 23 your personality points affect your attributes too and once your maxed out (its takes a while but I play A LOT) you can get a +5 attribute boost to speed accleration finishing etc and therefore you can customize your attributes even further. (this is on top of the skill points). You have to do the training modules to get these skills points but once you get an A on the best exercises you can simulate them super quickly and still get an A grade on all them and gain XP fairly quickly and rapidly. SO even this annoying part is not that bad. The other annoying thing is the manager rating. You have to accomplish certian benchmarks in game otherwise youll lose your starting position. You can score 5 goals in a game but still end up on the bench if you dont hit these goals. So this is defeinently annoying, but you if you stop playing like a piece of shit you can work around it. Also tranferring can be easy I tried to transfer my layer while he was 95 overall and I could only get offers from real madrid and barca. but once I took my attributes off temportaily made my player 85 overall, I got offers from way more clubs. So keep that in mind. Sorry this is so much, but I literally been playing both games religiously lately and felt like I really needed to share my experinece. I love fifa 16 and I would definitely recommend 23 as I believe it's a big upgrade. Thank you all, P.S Fifa 23 does not have Liga Mexico so that definitely is a downgrade.
There were a few good things in FIFA16 (squad ranking, pre-negotiations, and those predefined tactics were useful as well). Sadly, 60% -70% is the same stuff around...
There are some good things about fifa 23, but gameplay is absolutely awful, almost unplayable without sliders. Meanwhile the older fifas, whilst maybe not having the best animations etc., were a lot more fun to play
The biggest difference is how frustrating the AI is when you actually play. Most people don’t even play the actual game and sim most of the season. It’s frustrating how every team you play against on fifa 16 is heavily tiki taka. Passing speed and accuracy is frustrating when even lower division players are lasering all over the pitch
What I’m seeing here is that changes to happen in FIFA, but they’re so incremental over such a long time. Like in the grand scheme of things, career mode hasn’t really changed in 7 years - so disappointing
For years now career mode players have been asking for EA changes in career mode to make it more realistic which EA are more than capable, even if they wanna drip feed a new feature every year. But no, they just gave us more time consuming cutscenes. They really have cornered the market.
I prefer career mode much more now from 21 onwards. I much prefer the new growth system, development plans and being able to change player position and upgrade skill moves and weak foot. Career mode has always had bugs or just general things that ruined the fun for me. Like in older fifas (I played fifa 13 onwards) 13 to 18 players would randomly ask cor a transfer request and there was nothing you could do to keep them, this was fixed in fifa 19, if a player asked to leave you could just negotiate a new contract. FIFA 20 had loads of bugs for me so around January 2020 i just went back to fifa 19, fifa 20 was too annoying. Fifa 20 would crash constantly, bugs with the menus, bugs with pre game screens of the line ups. For me at least 19, 21, 22 and 23 have been my favourite. Least amount of bugs/annoying features. If i want the old training system i load up fifa 19 and have some fun.
i miss the feature that you can have one of your players have a personal mark on another player and also you could point to where you wanted your player to make a run in the field i cant remember what fifa that was
The main thing i think taht made older fifas better can already be seen at 0:16, look what the striker does after you win the ball, he has the intelligence to run forward automatically, nowadays hed stand still untill you specifically press him forward. Also i dont get your tactics point, the old system was miles better as you had a lot more depth (the older versions were even better yet) and the signing system in fifa 23 while pretty, takes ages, sometimes i just wanna buy or sell a player without having to press skip 5 times for a cutscene ive seen thousands of times that isnt even that interesting
Not gonna lie, I completely disagree with fifa 23 having the best career mode.... the player progression is broken. It's annoying but I miss players being homesick or not wanting to stay after their contract is up, it adds unpredictability and stops you from having the same OP squad for 10 years. Also personally I really like the custom tactics system because to me it makes a huge difference gameplay wise. Been switching between 23 and 17 and I genuinely don't know which is better, pros and cons to both I guess
the last fifa i play is 17 after that move to pes 17 cause of mods and this year decide playing the last fifa name in series it feels great and refreshing
I’m struggling to keep my career modes going without them getting boring. LITTERALLY they last for a season at the most cause I get bored. Anyone have any advice to make them go on for longer
Ong, I can only bare to play career mode with clubs I support (3) but I feel there would be a lot of cool clubs to take over like Liverpool or Chelsea but I just get really bored really quick.
Fifa 16 CM is not the GOAT, but it's the GOAT in old players not declining until 37, but fifa 17 to fifa 20, it is 29 years old is where the players decline. Plus if anyone remembers the 11 star youth scouts from fifa 13 were a thing, then you're an OG
I only buy FIFAs every few years. I've bought FIFA 14, 15, 17, 18, 23, and some older ones I can't remember off the top of my head. Can say I'm definitely more satisfied than people I know who buy every year
How about managing International Team? I remember we have to qualify for a world cup and play a lot of games. For FIFA 23 all the international team is confirm word cup. I remember I use to sim the club game and only play international game. But I forgot on which FIFA. Do you know?
Hi Geografifa, I am American and recently bought & started a career mode at Watford. I currently play on World Class difficulty and 6 minute halves. I feel like my games always are very high scoring. I have the most GF and GA in the Championship, can you recommend any better settings? Thanks.
Try a shitter club, AI Watford usually get promoted regardless it would be more of a challenge to manage a club like Sunderland where the AI almost always gets relegated
@@indiekiddrugpatrol3117 As someone who is just now getting into Soccer (Football) I just picked a club based off of the sponsor. I didn't want to pick a prem league team so I just went with Watford since they've been sponsored by Football Manager and Stake
@@JaquiskiTarttNFL yea that's fair, tbh there's lots of teams in the championship that have their stadium in the game which is always a bonus but if you're looking for a challenge it's probably best not to choose one that's recently been relegated as due to the way career mode works they have a much higher chance at promotion and even when actually playing matches the game is somewhat scripted. So far I haven't had a save where Watford haven't got automatically promoted in the 1st season and I haven't had one where Sunderland haven't got relegated so in my opinion it's more of a challenge plus they're historically a huge club ( they have as many league titles as Chelsea) and have a decent looking stadium.
on switch fifa 18 and 23 have like 1 major change(champions league(which you could do with a tournament anyway)) but 23 has no world cup, less national teams, less leagues, looks worse, has worse commentary, and the gameplay feels worse.
How do you use development and trainings? Do you get your developments done with A sharpness to all trainings? Leave it untouched? What would you say is the most realistic way to use these 2 features of the game?
Imo the best career mode was FIFA 17, training was a lot better than it is now and it didn’t have the broken press conferences or half arsed manager creator.

Fifa 12 is better then 16 because it had player manager mode it was both saves in one but you could play your player as many times as you want a season. Transfer negotiations in these older games there is some challenge some teams would be like we don't want your player or we want the player + some more money teams could still say no to paying your price also who cares about realism it's fun at the end of the day and on these older games the board are very strict you do poor they will sack you I was the Sheffield united manager got sacked while I was at the bottom of the premier league then took Birmingham back to Europe season after sacked after finishing 8th in the premier league then had glory with valencia winning it all.

I really think the career mode team should just put all their focus on FIFA 25/26. Ive heard the reason for the small updates each year is because the code is so old. They should just revamp the whole code and make career mode from scratch.
There won’t be a fifa 25

I miss the stadium background, and due to heavy nostalgia I also miss the only training mode. It was just alot of fun improving literally anyone by many ratings, especially if I had a favorite player I wanted to grow higher.
Fifa 16 is the best career mode, I'm still going back to play fifa 16, yeah the fact that there are no real faces, numbers and badges don't update and issues with champions leauge qualifications are annoying, but for some reason the Gameplay and transfer system just make the game so fun, criminally underrated and I'm glad u made a video on it
Fifa 13 to Fifa 15 was lit for career mode
Fifa 12 aswell
FIFA 14 sucked, you couldn’t even know the ratings of other players until you buy them, also 30+ year olds started declining massively. Fifa 15 and 16 were the best fifas on career mode
Well the old fifa career modes were lit, however if you try to play older fifa than 12 the gameplay feels horrible.
14-17 was probably prime fifa
@@camerondevaneydevers5473 for me 14-19, after that is quite boring, i remember in FIFA 19 doing a run with Real Betis and men, that was beautiful i remember the Europa League screen, the first time that appears license in the Champions League and Europa League, the training system, the style of the simulation (for me the better, and that was the last time we see it).
idk i remember quite funny, Ajax was also funny to play lot of youngstars like: De Jong, De Ligt, Mazraoui, Neres, etc... But also a few very good players that can lead your squad to the top of the top: Ziyech and Tadic.
was super fun.
FIFA 18 wasn't the best for me i don't have remembers of that mode career, maybe because i play all the day the world cup gamemode.
FIFA 17 WAS DOPE, the first time we see the motor graphic changing, i remember a run with Independiente de Avellaneda my lord was beautiful, a guy who i don't know at these days (at the day i don't know who it is) Albertengo score only banger, and a few youngstars help me a lot like: Rigoni, Barco, Tagliafico.
FIFA 16 is the better for me, if i have to talk about the game im gonna talk all the day.
FIFA 14 AND 15 was my first FIFA'S ever, not counting the World Cup 2010 game (the GOTY of the FIFA'S).

I completely forgot about squad ranking, a small thing that should come back
I personally like buying fifa a bit after the last fifa, cheaper if you can find a discount and it can also be really fun resimulating the prior year
While the gameplay is more smooth and fluid in the newer fifa's, the old ones felt more realistic.
I bought Fifa 16 for 2$ instead of ea fc 24 and it was the best decision
Nice, I still play fifa 18 CM till this day, more leagues in Europe but has more to offer compared to 19 or 20 ?
Thank you all,
P.S Fifa 23 does not have Liga Mexico so that definitely is a downgrade.
There were a few good things in FIFA16 (squad ranking, pre-negotiations, and those predefined tactics were useful as well). Sadly, 60% -70% is the same stuff around...
There are some good things about fifa 23, but gameplay is absolutely awful, almost unplayable without sliders. Meanwhile the older fifas, whilst maybe not having the best animations etc., were a lot more fun to play
and this isn't just a nostalgia thing, I do play fifa 18 from time to time and is so much fun to play compared to fifa 23
I’ve bored myself for years saying Fifa and PES should’ve made the perfect game together instead of being rivals. Doesn’t matter now obvs
How exactly is the gameplay awful and unplayable?
This is a honest question I'm curious to see your reasons for this
@@y0Diitz nostalgia merchant.. thats what he is clearly
Do what happens in the next 12 years in fifa
What I’m seeing here is that changes to happen in FIFA, but they’re so incremental over such a long time. Like in the grand scheme of things, career mode hasn’t really changed in 7 years - so disappointing
Gameplay was definitely better then but no dynamic potential is a pain. Quite torn when it comes to career as to what was better.
I have one of Dortmund and I’m loving my Werner/Reus, Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan attack
Do players still ask to leave now? I never really got one, while in older fifas it would happen more often.
i miss the feature that you can have one of your players have a personal mark on another player and also you could point to where you wanted your player to make a run in the field i cant remember what fifa that was
The main thing i think taht made older fifas better can already be seen at 0:16, look what the striker does after you win the ball, he has the intelligence to run forward automatically, nowadays hed stand still untill you specifically press him forward.
You guys really don't care about the gameplay do you?
Finally, a review of FIFA 23 Legacy Edition for Switch
Not gonna lie, I completely disagree with fifa 23 having the best career mode.... the player progression is broken. It's annoying but I miss players being homesick or not wanting to stay after their contract is up, it adds unpredictability and stops you from having the same OP squad for 10 years. Also personally I really like the custom tactics system because to me it makes a huge difference gameplay wise. Been switching between 23 and 17 and I genuinely don't know which is better, pros and cons to both I guess
Fifa 16 had a beautiful aesthetic
the last fifa i play is 17 after that move to pes 17 cause of mods and this year decide playing the last fifa name in series it feels great and refreshing
Also the catalogue. Loved playing in the classic kits and buying scout special player or whatever it was
Fifa 16 CM is not the GOAT, but it's the GOAT in old players not declining until 37, but fifa 17 to fifa 20, it is 29 years old is where the players decline. Plus if anyone remembers the 11 star youth scouts from fifa 13 were a thing, then you're an OG
I only buy FIFAs every few years. I've bought FIFA 14, 15, 17, 18, 23, and some older ones I can't remember off the top of my head. Can say I'm definitely more satisfied than people I know who buy every year
Do the same for fifa 2004, barely anything changed in that decade
How about managing International Team? I remember we have to qualify for a world cup and play a lot of games. For FIFA 23 all the international team is confirm word cup. I remember I use to sim the club game and only play international game. But I forgot on which FIFA. Do you know?
Do this with every game
If you play Nintendo switch the game is basically the same.
imo fifa 18 is better than 23 on switch
The problem is not the content. the problem is the price
on switch fifa 18 and 23 have like 1 major change(champions league(which you could do with a tournament anyway)) but 23 has no world cup, less national teams, less leagues, looks worse, has worse commentary, and the gameplay feels worse.

How do you use development and trainings? Do you get your developments done with A sharpness to all trainings? Leave it untouched? What would you say is the most realistic way to use these 2 features of the game?
EA just does the bare minimum each year to avoid video's like 2016 better than 2023
The transfers are the same as nintendo and the tactics as well and in nintendo you can request funds.

I would compare Fifa 19 to 20, because that was the fully new gen
I genuinely believe career mode was better on fifa13 than more recent games
Imo the best career mode was FIFA 17, training was a lot better than it is now and it didn’t have the broken press conferences or half arsed manager creator.
I have good idea for player career you make yourself brazilian and then you go to europe like vini or gabriel jesus

FIFA 23 gameplay on the pitch is way to arcade like and ruins my immersion. Every game it is at least 5 goals across the two sides. I had to play around with sliders to make it a bit better.
