So glad to see Genesis corner grow after our contributions to this lovely tradition of growing your Genesis collection! So glad you have a complete collection now! Good luck with those box sets! It's a struggle only Doctor Who fans and DVD collectors know.
Thanks, yes, I think you pretty much doubled the size of genesis corner, with these new shelves conveniently dividing my collection up into equal sized boxes we can see that Genesis is now about 2/13 of my collection, or roughly 15%. What a turn of events.
It kind of made me glad in a way that I hadn't really focussed on getting the new series stuff, because the 2014 rerelease boxsets were so nice, and look so tidy together, it's just a shame there isn't a matching option for the 2013 specials and s8 onward.
@@matthewlamont4111 you are right, there is still spin off material to be collected, some of the animated stuff, but in terms ofvtge series itself my collection is complete, it's just the more peripheral odds and ends I need to pick up, there are also things like downtime, all that bbv stuff, I don't know if a collection is ever truly done because there's always something you could think that isn't there yet
I bought all that lovely shelving after I had all the dvds, all the time I was building the collection up it was stacked up on makeshift shelves propped up by old video cassette boxes, it was very aesthetically displeasing.
I had it and the War Games before I got any of the dvds, and most of the davros stories were ones I put off getting since I already had decent copies, so the older of those two sets got played quite a lot over the years.
I mean I could do that, I don't think I'd really want to though, I quite like having the boxes in there, they just make things complicated from time to time.
Yeah, I can kin d of see the logic of packaging thematically linked stories together but it makes it a hassle for displaying them in sequence. My friend just displays boxed stories in the boxes they come in, wit the set being placed in the position of the earliest story in the set, it's a good way to display them in a shop where the packaging needs to be sealed, I often go into my nearest HMV and sort the DW dvds into chronological order and position the box sets in that way, but once they're opened the idea of keeping stories out of their broadcast sequence just makes no sense to me. Obviously with the new bluray range that's not going to be an issue, since they're releasing everything by season.

My modern series section of my shelf is a mess because I have all the original boxes which differ widely in style.

Can’t you just take the DVDs out of the box set and put the box sets somewhere else

THEY SHOULD BOXSET THEM IN THE RIGHT ORDER IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY

Oooo this is pretty nice :)
Thanks, it's great to be able to just watch any story whenever I feel like it, after all the years collecting it up finishing it was pretty rewarding.
