- 5 famous music artists and youtubers who stole my music and ideas In the last 5 years, people stealing content & theft from famous youtubers has been a large part of my RUclips "career" and original music making career. From people who have used the same music samples in a song as me to peope who straight up stole my music here's a list of artists and youtubers who steal (or just have the same ideas as me...) I've had ideas taken by a lot of people from small lazy RUclips leeches to BIG HUGE famous RUclipsrs with 2 Million subscribers and Grammy Award nominated/winning artists. I will say, not all of these people are thieves. Some of them simply had the same ideas as me or used the same samples as me (although exact cover art is very questionable), while others are blatant thieves who don't bother to give music production credit where it is due.

Young man you need a lawyer because they owe you and I have shared your video's and definitely I'm inspired, not stealing from you lol. I was in the industry and had some music stolen and was told to leave it alone ....biggest mistake I ever made.. it will never happen again.

Best way to ‘fix’ this is to get more eyeballs (and ears) on your work. You have some amazing stuff, the MJ thing you did was sick and I really do think you deserve a bigger audience. Try to do some collabs with bigger YT people in the same space, it will help.

What ppl don't realize is that there is longevity with actually contacting a producer that you rock with. That producer more than likely cater tracks specifically for you... but cats outchea trying to make a quick buck or get views...

Copy writing is good but I just found out The woman who wrote the book “the third eye” which was copied and became the matrix and terminator she was never paid or giving credit and she has been speaking out her name is Sophia Stewart she got her work stollen too! The story goes that in 1986 African-American female writer Sophia Stewart submitted a manuscript titled, THE THIRD EYE, to a science fiction comic book contest that was sponsored by the Wachowski Brothers from an ad that was placed in a national magazine. She never heard from them and her manuscript was never returned. Years later, in 1999, when the first MATRIX film was released Stewart recognized that her work had been appropriated by the Wachowski Brothers and she filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement in 2003 against them, Warner Bros., Joel Silver, Village Roadshow Entertainment, James Cameron, Gale Ann Hurd and THE TERMINATOR franchise. Now every three or four years after she had filed the lawsuit contradictory stories are circulated on the internet about her either having won the lawsuit (in 2004) or that the lawsuit had been dismissed (in 2005). This should be breaking news around the world, but mainstream media outlets will not report on this story and Miss. Stewart gives a fascinating account as to why. Duke Dumont & Gorgon City had a track "Real Life" with emojis in the video.The chorus sounds inspired by my track G(IRL) which was based around social media. They must have been very uninspired in the studio that day. You eventually get over it. But if you can afford to, get a lawyer.

You have a case here. Same thing with me. In 2007 I did a song called “anytime anyplace” sampling Janet Jackson. A few years later... out come Kendrick Lamar with poetic justice sampled and chopped the same way.

I know where they got it from, I downloaded the original and looked it all up at the time. The point wasn’t always that someone was actually “stealing” rather came out with a song that had the same idea I had. That and the Jaden ones were just fun pokes at similar thought processes. I don't think you're paranoid at all. There are PLENTY of channels I've run across on this platform that use instrumentals from other channels but don't give credit. Especially for ones that all they request is a mention in the description box. A lot of people (myself included) have used Lakey Inspired instrumentals, but i've seen a lot of people that don't take the time out to give him credit (which probably explains why he stopped making new ones for free).
As for the industry stealing music or ideas for RUclips...not surprised at all. Especially when you hope that no one will notice or even think to see if someone smaller did it first.
I feel so paranoid at times but then I think of how many times it’s happened and how obvious the similarities are like on those album covers and I’m like nah.... that can’t be be paranoia. I do believe they are scouting RUclips not only for the next talent but the next ideas they can use. And as for other folks who don’t credit it’s just... sad man. I had literally all over the video in giant annotations and in the description: “CREDIT ME WHEN YOU USE THIS” so it’s not like he missed it. They just capitalized off of my generosity and my talent in making that beat fast. Sold the song, made money and got millions of subs. Kinda sucks but that’s how it goes...
That's the reason why I don't blame you for putting your tag lines on your beats (even if they are remakes of a popular beat). But be careful even with that lol. A producer I follow had his beat stolen and looped right before the tag line hit smh (they used it for an Instagram story). Fortunately some people who knew it was his told him, and he was able to promote himself in the comments of that video (instead of having it taken down).

It IS right for you to feel this way. They legit stole your ideas. I'm cautious to music and art making publicly for this reason. Yet, if they stole your ideas and never credited, couldn't you have sued, or at least something similar??
When it comes to remakes (Johnny Orlando) I cant sue because I don’t own the copyright to the original song. It’s more of a common decency thing to do. The sampled beats I can’t really either because they didn’t make the same song as me or steal my beat directly they just used the same sample as me which sucks because I came up with it first. :/

Damn I’m sorry, Lxgend. When I found your channel the other day, I was like “that’s all the views he has???” You definitely deserve a lot more recognition. (The people who do follow you are real people who support you and it may help you mentally to not get too caught up in a number) And wow I love “trey songz” can’t be friends but I lost respect for him a little bit now that I know that is yours. (Best part of the song was yours in my opinion). You’re not wrong to feel that way at all. From what I see you put a lot your energy and life into your craft. (Which I really appreciate when you share your creative process and how to videos since I have wanted to create music but more of a singer songwriter stand point and I’ve felt so lost. You make it easier to understand. I’m primarily a visual artist so I paint and I also dance, singing has always been a love of mine but I’m tired of covering other artists songs) But anyway, One thing that may help you is an idea I live by as an artist. There is no such thing as originality. Artists are constantly absorbing and receiving inspiration from daily life, (even subconsciously) whether it be a song we’ve heard, nature, visual art, life experiences, etc. Even when we feel like we completely made an original piece of art, it is inevitable to take inspiration from many sources and redo it. This is what creativity is. “Creativity is taking ideas and adding your own unique perspective and twist on our memories, experiences, dreams, etc.” if we are honestly working through our own creative process, this is what makes it rightfully ours. Another interesting idea/quote: “ An amateur artist copies, a great artist steals.” I know its frustrating to not get the recognition we deserve, and in your case, you at least deserve credit on your name!! It’s a little annoying though how similar these examples were. Taking inspiration is one thing and stealing and crediting your own name is another. Like dang at least change it up a little bit! I’m sure this happens a lot, especially with these big name artists because they can essentially get away with it because their platform is reaching a wider audience than some artists (like you) who have the same level (if not more) skill level and passion. I will say expect others to want to do the same exact thing as you. You are evidently blessed and hardworking. Your work inspires us all and apparently even the most renowned and well known artists alive today. Keep up the good work!
I mean I get that but o don’t entirely agree. There IS a such thing as originality. But everyone is inspired by who came before them. That’s all it is. Doesn’t mean they took something from someone else. Just means they were influenced. I have a video out tomorrow about this.
IAMLXGEND hmm I would say originality as in UNIQUENESS and being a CREATOR then yes. Being original as in claiming to never have been influenced by other artists or just life experiences in general, I would need convincing. Take only what serves you from those ideas. Of course everybody is their own person and has their own soul. It helped me take some pressure off myself and create art from what inspires me but making my own creative decisions and listening to my own spirit as well and yes, understanding the difference from inspiration and stealing/copying. 😊 I’ll watch the video to hear you more. Ruby Hill I don’t think anyone ever uses the word “original” to mean they were never inspired by anything or anyone before them. That would be impossible. Everyone is inspired by what came before. We wouldn’t have 99% of our current music genres without them being inspired by something else.

It's not even mentors for me, it's random strangers and super famous folks taking my work and my ideas which to me sucks even more. And yea man that's actually what I was thinking myself. For people to steal from you, you have to be dope enough for them to even want to steal. So I take it as a backhanded compliment. Still sucks but its true. Really appreciate that comment man.

That UGK track was referenced from Project Pat`s Choose U song which was released on the Layin the Smack Down album that came out in 2002. Pimp C said, in interviews, that was one of his favorite Pat songs and that is why they redone it. Not from yours. Love your channel and musical skills my brother. Also the UGK song was released in 2007, Pimp C died the same year December
Well my point wasn’t that they took it from me its that they used the same idea and sample I had which originally came from Willie Hutch’s “I Choose You” from 1973 and I sampled and made my beat in 2007 and released the song in 2008. Didn’t know that album came out in 2007 though so my mistake on that part! I only heard the song in 09 when the video was just released. That one is probably the least viable scenario to me because the sample flip was basically exactly the same and we both made these songs in the same year (2007). So I don’t mean to say that particular case is thievery. Just someone who sampled the same song as me but got more exposure for it. Same as ICON. But THAT one im a bit more upset about because I actually did make that beat 12 years before them hahahah. Thanks for the info though!
Get what you saying but when you said in the video that yours came before UGK`s was off. I say that because their beat is the same beat as Project Pat`s song (same drums, etc.) because it was produced by the same people, Juicy J and DJ Paul in 2002. With Willie Hutch himself on the song. As for those other examples...SMH feel for you bruh, especially that Johnny Orlando situation.

This happens all the time it’s best to create your own songs you can’t sue them over samples but the orignal artists can go after them if they didn’t get the rights from those artists and there publishers.
That sucks that you didn't get a mention. I am putting out a mixtape this summer and there has been no doubt in my mind that the producers will be listed on it. Copyright your shit bro. It's $35 to copyright one or more than one pieces of work. At this point in the game, you should be prepared. Lawyers are cheap when they know they will win the case. I already know what Intellectual property theft and infringing on copyright is... lol I’ve been making music for 2 decades now so I’m well versed. And yea my label is registered. I’ve already spoken to my lawyer about some of the people who’ve actually stolen from me. We’ve already sent out cease and desists. In some cases I’m not allowed to though. Remixes or songs including the same sample. In other cases, which were neither of the 2, I just do not have the money to register all of my work. I have around 500+ works of music that need to be protected. That’s nearly $20,000 that I certainly don’t currently have.

I already do and have been distributing through proper distribution services for the last 11 years. People still steal. And the recognition systems are wonky. August Alsina is sitting on 3,000,000+ views of a beat he stole from me. A beat which is in RUclips’s content ID System and has yet to be recognized.
