It must have taken great courage for these other Seekers girls to have stepped into Judith's shoes. It's like the James Bond actors after Sean Connery. I think Judith would be the first to say to appreciate each of them for their own unique gifts.
I like Karen as a solo performer. The thing about the Seekers sound is the harmony where the total is greater than the sum of each part. This was achieved with Judith and Louisa.
Judith is as sweet as a Georgia peach, but her reputation is brutally intimidating for those engaged in attempting to replace her. Karen Knowles had a beautiful voice, but she was charged with a daunting task and she did a marvelous job of dealing with it.
Judith left the Seekers to pursue a solo career - a good number of years later of course she re-joined The Seekers ~ Karen Knowles was a replacement singer, and she was very vocally proficient, but of course her sound wasn't as recognizable or as distinctive as Judith's.
It's deffinately noticeably missing something with out Judith's smooth clear voice! of all the replacements I like Julie Anthony best but even she doesn't hold a candle to Judith! Karen Knowles voice is kinda harsh
Its Karen Knowles, she did it her way and with her stile.
One of Australias best artists.....
Karen is excellent, but Judith has redefined the word excellent.

In Norway we say jump after Wirkola!

Wheres Judith?
@rHiaNNon210 - See if you can find the proper recording of the Seekers' version of this song, instead of a live version without Judith Durham.
Karen Knowles was a very good singer but Judith Durham she aint
I loved Karen! I thought she was great!
