Collector Logic is something else. a complete set? As in trading cards, that only matters when each of those items individually hold significant value, trading cards,. A complete set of something mass produced five years ago? He knows what he has. A bunch of shitty purple guitars.
Steve, what you described in the shows on continuation is called a residency (like you said) or you become a House Band for a venue. Back in the Sixties the house band for the Whiskey A Go Go was The Doors. In the movie "Another State of Mind" Mike Ness said he could have a career just by playing So Cal and not touring. Actually when I got into Social Distortion they were not in a touring mood for years (not near me). So yeah, you can just be a local band or a house band for a long time.
I have no problem with strange or neon finishes, unusual shapes (provided they’re flairful) etc. I’m 63, and I ordered a Glarry Strat copy recently just because it’s retina-destroyingly, very severe orange. The numbers on my birth certificate are my bitches.
Ah, that old canard. Having played both I can speak to this a bit. If you look at where American football, "gridiron" whatever you want to call it, pads are, you'll quickly realize they are not so much as to protect you from damage, but to allow you to inflict damage. The hard plastic helmet doesn't protect you from concussion (some are slightly better at that now), but you can smash into someone much harder, because you won't hit your face, and can (though technically illegal) lead with your head. The hard plastic shoulder pads, and padding underneath allow you to deliver hits that would otherwise separate or dislocate your shoulder. The only other pads are really on your thighs, and most "skill position" players don't even wear those. Some of the hits you can line up in American football are for the most part not allowed in rugby union. My sense of the whole thing was that rugby hurts slightly more (especially your ears), but injures less in general. But the thing about AF is - odds are strong that you're going to get hit every single play. Without exception, whereas you spend a good bit of time chasing the action and not directly involved in rugby. Because of the stop/start nature of it, you train for maximum weight, burst and power, rather than endurance, like rugby. So again, the hits are generally harder because of this. Just my experience. Hope this helps!
We like to call that common sense. They also added more outer padding to helmets for practice. No game is worth brain damage or death...not even in a we're more macho than you contest...in which the winner is actually a loser
Purple Pain. It's not as overpriced as the six $500 KAPA Continental guitars for 15 grand! see *Kapa CO-IV Continental Various 1966* . The Continentals are great 1st guitars due to their insanely good action and decent pickups.

RIP Hardluck, you will not be missed. You can still buy the guitars from the china factory but the Hardluck kings went out of business a couple weeks ago which is why your seeing the high prices on the guitars everyone thinks they will become collectible now that the company is closed new they used to be $180-200 range strat i know for sure was the cheapest in the line up
I'm maybe someone in that "Hard Luck Kings" age range you talked about. But you wound me. I am affronted. I bought Sterling Stingray HH bass, and a Gretsch Junior Jet short scale. Affordabasses if you will. One's light blue, one is pink. #noteveryage50spersonisahardluckking
Doesn't have a valid opinion? Well that's the last damned straw, Captain Wigglestick. Nobody trash talks Kid Rock on my watch. That man is a certifiable genius and a national treasure, and anybody who says otherwise is a poopyfaced buttsniffer.
I have one of the custom run LP body style guitars. There were only 2 made in that run, and I swapped the stock pickups with EMG passives and it’s actually a good guitar. So I ordered one from a normal run and it was absolute trash.
I bought an HLK Southern Bell. (Tele) with HH pickups. It’s been solid. Never bought another only because everything else in stock just looks off. I must have gotten a good one though because my tele rocks.
Good cheap guitars? CNC machines and automation combined with low labor costs and competition drives prices down. I'm still shocked by the Leo Jaymz Tele I got off Amazon that Ryan did a show on. It was sub $200. Neck pick-up is a bit mellow for a Tele but the build, finish and fret work all punch well above what I paid for it. $500 and lower is what I can afford and you can now get USA made guitars that are good at that price point again if you forget Fender and Gibson. I'm passing by all the "lifestyle" brands that so many major makers of guitar and amps have become.
I bought a HLK Firebird style in gloss purple all gold hardware and IMO it's pretty dam good. A lot of people posted a lot of hate when I posted it on a couple forums but I found nothing wrong with it. I bought it preowned so it's possible the previous owner tweaked it I do not know. Guitar Center had no info aside from the listing claiming it was in excellent condition and it was. My HLK Firebird is a very heavy guitar heavier than my Epi Firebirds and my Gibson Explorer not 100% sure what it's made from looks like mahogany but feels heavier that that. The 7 is strange for sure and I like the odd and unusual when it comes to guitars but that is so far out there even for me!
im so glad you guys did the ad i sent from the jump. like dude, do you even want to sell these? xD i think this was my sign to hop on the patreon, i enjoyed this so much
The standard 4 chord system is 1 4 5 minor 6 , you can play it in any order 1456 4561 5641 1654 1456 1616 5141 5616 5145 1616 5414 5616 5414 5165 4154 1654 5616 5465 6154 6514 5616 5416
Eh. PureSalem has a lot more going on the original design front IMO. Also they’re priced a bit higher and the quality consistency seems to reflect that - steve
Just to say, I have three telecasters. Two American fenders (AmPro2 and Vintage2) and a $150 hard luck kings. And the hlk tele beats the AmPro2 tele all to hell. The v2 is better, but still. . . The ampro2 cost ELEVEN times what the HLK did, and it’s not as good. I DID have to do some initial fret and neck work of course, but that was all. Just saying, you guys. Just saying.
Just gotta say I found a used HLK Lady luck explorer and it looks, feels, and sounds fantastic! Can't speak about the company or it's other products, but if James Hatfield were poor( cuz it was super cheap for the quality), I think he would dig this guitar
Hey, I resent that! I'm a crappy guitarist and I go to Steve Vai concerts! I challenge you to a crap contest! I will defeat you on the stage of crap battle!
From what I've heard, NOBODY'S gonna end up buying ANY Hard Luck Kings guitars at all. It ended up being a pre-order scam.
"Three Chords and the Truth", an oft-quoted phrase coined by Harlan Howard in the 1950s which he used to describe country music. 1, 4, and 5 chords.
I love that you got email from Deathray Cat!!!! I have been into his band and channel for several years now.
Pat Finnerty is the goat of “this song” content. I am resisting answering “Beato” to all the music theory comments here.

Picked up a used Schecter 7 string at a thrift store for $170. Great bargain.
SCORE!!!!
Punk is really about arguing online if something is punk or not
A proud tradition of annoyance
I bought one. It was junk. Everything about it was cheep AF. Very poor customer support.
Harley riders are the only ones buying Hard Luck guitars

The g/b bender is also on Sweetwater. 🤷♂️
It's so freaking tempting

Ah, that old canard.

I had one of each HLK model due to uncontrollable gas. I also had no idea what I was doing. All long gone now.
I definatly wouldn't be buying anything from Hard Luck Kings...already have to deal with enough Richards in life.
Songwriter Harlan Howard was the origin of the quote "three chords and the truth".

The customer is always wrong business model never works out for the company 😂😂😂
ioi
Yeah I had a 💩 experience with Hard Luck Kings
“Deathraycat” is a rip off of xray cat, an idea for a cartoon in Tom greens movie “Freddy got fingered”. I can’t respect them because of this.
Did you hear if Solar guitars are still having fretboard/ finish problems?
Thanks for voting for me, Steve, even if you can't pronounce my name!
Hard Luck Kings are for the parents of Firefly owners.
I dont want to hang out in your man cave if you guys are in there bumping helmets! . . . not that there's anything wrong with that. Lmao

The junior jet basses are a lot of fun - steve

The man wants to be a baby cowboy. Hard to take him seriously when that’s his greatest aspiration.
Transformer hard luck guitars❤😊
I got two HLK Southern Belle's . I love both of them.
But if it's d-G-C then it's suddenly **jazz**
A Rolling Bender would work on a half bridge.
I have one of the custom run LP body style guitars. There were only 2 made in that run, and I swapped the stock pickups with EMG passives and it’s actually a good guitar. So I ordered one from a normal run and it was absolute trash.
Custom run around 2014 second order around 2017
Classic
Ah, Ryan goes political and loses a subscriber. Bye.
Uh oh. Someone’s sensitive.
Eleanore Rigby - 2 chords
Sometimes it’s just the song

RAIDERS!!!
GET THE CERTANO BRIDGE MISTER
I wanna see you do a video on the Centano Bridge.
I would need a video of that 7 string to decide if it's worth that money... but I'd much rather have a regular, boring 6 string guitar in this shape.
I bought an HLK Southern Bell. (Tele) with HH pickups.
It’s been solid. Never bought another only because everything else in stock just looks off. I must have gotten a good one though because my tele rocks.
Now THAT'S the kind of jam that you would cook up in Finland. Soundtrack to a country. Epic. Frigid. Stark. Ominous. Vanishing.

I dig the Picasso guitar.
I bought an HLK tele like 8 years ago when they had a 99 dollar sale. Wish i had just bought an affinity squier instead lol.
I bought a HLK Firebird style in gloss purple all gold hardware and IMO it's pretty dam good. Guitars for mafiosos...
Recently came across a thread on Reddit where someone said their HLK "Firebird" weighed 16lbs. lol
Wth I JUST saw 4 of those helmet guitars in a little pawnshop in Philly. $50 each.
Not a Kid Rock fan. Former Nashville resident hearing bad things.
As I recall, “Sabotage” by Beastie Boys is only one chord, but then again, you’re listening primarily for rhythm, lyrics, and the flow of the vocals.
No one cares about Kid Rocks opinion, about Bud Light.
yes
Some people did. Dunno why, but they did.
I've stopped getting constant Hard Luck King Instagram ads.
im so glad you guys did the ad i sent from the jump. like dude, do you even want to sell these? xD i think this was my sign to hop on the patreon, i enjoyed this so much
G C D is 1, 4, 5, in the key of G. the use of a kapo will make this possible chord progression in all 12 keys
yes
So where do I send a song through?
Love the B's music t shirt.
The standard 4 chord system is 1 4 5 minor 6 , you can play it in any order 1456 4561 5641 1654 1456 1616 5141 5616 5145 1616 5414 5616 5414 5165 4154 1654 5616 5465 6154 6514 5616 5416

isnt puresalem sorta in the same boat as hlk?

@@plantain.1739kind of, but better pickups and unique aesthetics.
I have an orange “Southern Belle” tele, sounds like a tele but bright orange. Gets the job done.
The tour I was interested in but probably missed out on tickets is Belew, Levin, Carey, and Vai doing King Crimson.
