    the reason for the difference in grenades in WW1-WW2 was for the Allies especially for Amarica baseball was a favorite pastime Cricket for the British hence the spherical design of our grenades for the Axis namely Germany & Italy were Ax throwing was a normal pastime for them hence the Stalgrenade or stick grenade so a little history lesson for everyone 😊

    • @apollohateshisdayjob9606
      @apollohateshisdayjob9606 2 года назад +6

      There is also a distinction between what are casually called "offensive" vs "defensive" grenades.
      Offensive are meant to be used when attacking/charging so the stick gives extra range, and they typically have a thin jacket so there isn't too much shrapnel. Basically, you are charging in the open, so you want to a grenade you can throw far enough ahead of you that you aren't going to be hit with it. These tapered off after WW1, though they still were used by Germany in WW2, likely because of the intended rush/blitz tactics.
      Defensive grenades on the other hand are what we are mostly used to today, where they throw out a lot of shrapnel in a wide radius, and they are intended to be used from behind cover, such as when defending a trench or other position from an enemy charge.

    When using a suppressor on a weapon; you are also meant to equip what's known as "sub-sonic" ammunition to allow the suppressor to do its job completely. In the Silenced or Un-Silenced section; it sounds like they were firing regular ammunition. You'll notice a distinct "crack" noise everytime he fires. This is the sound of the bullet breaking the sound barrier. Sub-sonic ammunition travels at a speed below the speed of sound to not make the loud cracking noise you hear when firing a firearm. That's how you get your classic video game suppressor sounds, and why everyone is upset when they hear an actual "suppressed" firearm in action; because its technically not all the way there yet.

    • @apollohateshisdayjob9606
      @apollohateshisdayjob9606 2 года назад

      Not wrong, but also not entirely accurate. A super sonic round will put out around 140db on its own, and is not hearing safe.
      Sub sonic ammo is required for your ears to not ring after every shot, but it is still decently loud.
      For comparison, consider how much movies love the sound of racking a slide on a firearm, and how loud even that action is. Then remember that is happening faster and louder than when a person does it literally every time the trigger is pulled.
      Suppressor makers don't bother to make a suppressor more effective than that because there is no point making it quieter than the mechanism. The only time those are made is for small caliber manual operating firearms, like bolt action carbines

    • @ntfoperative9432
      @ntfoperative9432 2 года назад

      Also, what a actually makes the most noise is the action, the slide and the hammer

  • @MegaMrMinecraft1
    @MegaMrMinecraft1 2 года назад +1

    My opinion on guns is that i do think we need better gun control laws, but we also need to make sure those laws are designed so that responsible gun owners can get what they need to protect themselves just in case a crazy person ever slips past any tight regulations we could have in place to keep guns in the hands of responsible people as opposed to you know... In the hands of a mass shooter.
    Unfortunately, with todays politicians it is incredibly difficult to find middle ground. Those far enough left want guns banned period, not a good idea, but those far enough right seem to really not give a shit about whose hands a gun gets into.
    I think that a complete ban on guns goes too far, but just letting people buy guns all willy-nilly like the right wants is probably why we have so many mass shooting nowadays, we are just not doing enough to vet potential gun owners so that a psychopath does not get a hold of one and murder a bunch of people. We need to strike a PERFECT balance in regards to gun policy, you should be able to get them but only if there are guardrails meant to keep any lunatics from getting a hold of them.

    Oh no, the RPG-7 can definitely blow up on you. Old Soviet export weapons were often cheapened. Combine that with neglect and an untold number of rounds fired downrange, and you're setting yourself up for a kaboom. That's why the military ordered PSRL-1s and GS-777s some years back- lighter than the RPG-7, same functionality, more modular, and far less likely to have a catastrophic failure during training or allied usage.

Bullet shape and material it is made out of will also affect penetration, but in general it's the powder to bullet weight ratio (as far as I can tell).

Drill Sergeants in the Army will take the rifle, put it right on their junk and fire the the thing on full auto. To show to show the recruits that they have no reason to fear the recoil. (I'm sure if they were allowed to the DS would have the privates do that too. But recent times have been limiting what the DSs are allowed to do.)

    Even better is how you described bringing the shotgun out just for a bit. You checked and checked again, and your friend checked once it was in his possession. That's gun control right there.
    Though the whole 5.56 vs the 7.62 and .45 thing was a bit off. It really depends on what you classify as "power". In terms of hitting a person and going through armor, lighter, faster, more dense rounds are good like specific 5.56 loads. Standard 9mm goes through armor better than .45ACP does because of it's smaller surface area and higher velocity. Unless someone gets AP rounds, .45ACP is a non issue for pretty much any armor.

Like guns, we do need them - especially if you live somewhere out in the country we're helping less likely to get to you. But imo you don't need an automatic rifle in a densely populated urban area unless you plan to kill bystanders, and the only reason you would need a silencer in an urban population is if you want to be a gas station sniper.
    Gun should have the minimal amount of testing and control that you need in order to drive a car, even moreso you need to be psychologically evaluated to make sure that you're not prone to shoot up a school anytime soon. Teenagers should not be able to get their hands on a gun easily.
    Different states should have different regulations on what can and cannot be allowed, but naturally there should be a standardized bar that you need to have in order to get your hands on a weapon that is only meant to take a life.

      @@trocoplaytv1254 I agree my issue with them was stopping what feels like every minute or so ruining the flow and impact of what was happening in the video. You don’t need to react to every statement said but rather the each topic as a whole it’s a balance.
