    Doing it already on my bike. What is the lube for the piston sealing or is it the brake fluid?

    • @DeathProofProductions
      @DeathProofProductions  3 месяца назад +2

      Thats just oil helps to get the o ring to slide into the master cylinder

  • @Ash-gb8ey

    I have to do this exact job once the parts come in.
    But don’t have a flexhone that small. Have a 3 blade style for wheel cylinders, otherwise SS , nylon or brass wire brushes.
    Thinking possibly the brass one would work?
    Great info/video, helped me out again 😎

    I have a question about your parts cleaner.... I use kerosene in mine. What do you use?

      I buy the 5 gallon can parts washer stuff from tractor supply. it probably is kerosene.

    I got a 2013 ultra glide with dual front calipers. Was in process with rebuild kit in hand, when pulling the old piston out found a need to figure out the best way to get the boot out without tearing it up (this one is a little different than yours in the video). I may try to punch it out from the other end? The rubber boot had a short plunger from the handle through the boot. The piston looks similar enough, but it's that rubber boot.

    Just tore my caliper apart, then watched your video, ..... and now it is time to do the master cylinder ....... just because. Thanks, outstanding content, and quality production showing details of each fix.

    Hey man good video have a question you might know the answer to. Long story short brakes were dragging, tried to bleed them had no movment in the lines. Fluid was nasty so replaced the line and tried to vacuum bleed down to the caliper, still no movement. Went to the master cylinder took it apart cleaned it good, (did not get the rebuild kit yet) and i still cant get any fluid to come out of the master even if i try to vacuum from where the banjo goes. Kind of lost at this point. Thanks for any info. 2000 soft tail

      What shape was the o ring a primary cup in.

    • @haffbaked7
      @haffbaked7 6 месяцев назад

      Seemed fine but that is coming from an untrained eye. Once I installed everything the first time dry the rings wouldn't really allow the spring to push back out, so took them out and put a little brake fluid on them and they were good. I also don't get any bubbles from the little return hole, obviously made sure that was not clogged. I am going to order the kit tonight just wasn't sure if there was something obvious I was missing.

    • @DeathProofProductions
      @DeathProofProductions  6 месяцев назад

      You can bleed the front brake with just the bubbles, I've don it for 30 years if it's not getting bubbles rebuild it then try again. If that doesn't work we go from there.

      @@DeathProofProductions ....sure man, thanks for sharing your time with the videos man, I get alot out of watching your videos. Are the new M8's worth all that money?...27grand for road king special....makes my head spin, but I sure do love that new road king. And are they rubber mounted like the older kings?....I have an 04 that shakes like crazy man!....lol

    • @DeathProofProductions
      @DeathProofProductions  Год назад +1

      it's mounted basically the same. is it worth the money that's up to you if you like the styling then yes. if you don't like the shakes look at the twincam b motor. less vibration at low r.p.m.

    I've got stuck pistons! How did you get them out? I saw you blow one side out with air, how did you get the other ones out?

    • @DeathProofProductions
      @DeathProofProductions  7 месяцев назад

      Put a piece of wood on one half covering the piston's then use a smaller piece to keep one from coming out on the side your working on. apply air to pop out the one that's not covered up repair it than swap it to get the other one out.
