11:50 You're right, too many people underestimate the importance of quality, which is really weird to me. I constantly get people asking me about their RUclips channel or to plug their channel and then I take a peek at it and I'm wondering... did this person AUDIT themselves at all? And that isn't an ego thing, it becomes very clear they didn't think about the quality of the people they are consuming and try to play at that level, but miraculously are surprised that they don't have a following yet. I see companies fall into this trap as well. It's something I have to steer clients away from on a regular basis. I think this plays into what you talk about with people not being self aware.
2:40 Love the question from Jean, and love your answer to this ***** since I'm going to have to think about that as I take people on over the next 2-5 years as my design biz scales. I'm approaching the limits of what a "solo player" can do, so its becoming time to slowly build up the team...
"You're always one piece of great content away from having your life change." WoW...that's a heavy statement. I love the insight into how Gary V thinks. It's a whole new way of looking at things. To think that every piece of content is historic raises my level of thinking when producing. Nothing has "throw away" value. Bring your BEST at-bat every single time.
QOTD - I would not spend any daily time on live streaming. I would check in for special events however. Winner! Excellent show. Your answer about your visions for live streaming were outstanding. Really great job! Thanks my dude. Yours, B.S.
#QOTD - I think bands should start using meerkat / periscope to broadcast the stage side view (musicians viewpoint) for live shows. I am going to start this with my band www.5amband.com immediately.
I really love the idea of a "television show" format live on Meerkat. It's so smart. I'm gonna try to implement that with my clients. Love this show! #AskGaryVee
QOTD Part 1 no t at the moment, Part 2 to be honest if there is something LIVE in any platform at this moment on line. It has to be something that I am into, which is live music. I'd spent 30 minutes - an hour even more.
QOTD: I would invest 0 time watching live streaming on any of these platforms. Why? Because I can either #hustle or watch TV, but doing both can be tough. While I'll flip on NetFlix and watch reruns of Star Trek while editing video's, doing photo shots for the online store or stocking inventory, it's not engaging like a live show would be to me. If anyone below writes more than 1 hour they're not working hard enough at the stuff you've tried to explain to them. Period.
***** Love this point. I think from an analysis standpoint though consumption may be essential to some biz models because of "context". Gary doesn't consume what other ppl are doing past a certain point, and I agree with that as well. But that take imagination beyond what some people may have, so based on that I think they can still consume and work hard to apply what Gary has explained. I think that from a production standpoint that I've seen things from your content that are going to help with the new "Show" I'm working on. ;) So I think there is value there especially for people starting anything new. There is also something to be said for spending time engaging.
***** On another note, same vein, I'd be very interested in seeing what you would do with Livestreaming and if you'd go more Meerkat or Google Hangouts, since on Google you could get a device to hookup the HD camera gear and stream in higher quality. What are your thoughts on this vs the ease of something like Meerkat?
Roberto Blake funny thing, I've been living streaming for years, maybe year 3? I started on uStream and have moved to the most benefitial for me: youtube live streaming. That means all the streams we tape on Friday nights are attended by 70+ people and then it's saved and we get 2500 additional views over the week. So, a live stream with "non live" re-broadcast has done great for us. Plus, the rebroadcast is monetized so we actually make money off it, which isn't true for most of those others. So, for me, live streaming was so 3 years ago :)
Roberto Blake yeah, I do browse shows for educational purposes (educational on ideas) but not really for entertainment value. Funny thing is, I've been doing this so long now that when I do sit down to relax in front of a youtube video once and awhile I end up picking apart the technical aspects more than enjoying it :)
***** i find myself doing the same thing. Even when I watch movies now I can see imperfect transitions, camera shake, grain... I have to mentally prepare to "enjoy" media without analyzing it now...
QOTD Part 1: I would use it to televise some of my workshops or specific sections of those workshops. I'd also do Q&A sessions as well Part 2: And depending on what it is, I'd spend 1 hour. Would probably be multitasking for a good portion of it.
QOTD Answer - well I dont have either meeerkat or periscope yet. But I usually have something live or recorded going on my second monitor or tablet as I work for background. i would say 40% of my time.
QOTD #1 Yes I would as a freelance designer I sometimes feel like my clients don't understand the "work" it goes into creating their flier and / or dvd cover work. Meerkat isn't on android yet so i haven't looked into it as a opinion QOTD #2 As far as watching goes , like others im huge on behind the scenes stuff . I always have something playing in the background as I work 9 out of 10 its one of your interviews . would have to say i would allocate maybe 10 hrs depending on the right content
Derek Sharp Jr I'd say that livestreaming your personal work as a designer would be good to show off your process and just recording it in general. That has worked well for me actually. I would say livestreaming a clients project could be problematic unless they are interested in value added promotional wise. But many companies still whine about "secret sauce" and don't like the idea of a revealed process... which in some cases (but not most) is valid. But in 2015 process is a great jab.
Roberto Blake Thanks for the reply and insight. I used live stream in the past during my time doing play by play and never thought about using it since now . Its something i will keep in mind for a later time, right now im in catch up mode the clients and work started flowing in and im a bit behind in all the basic business aspects like a website and business cards and more of a social presents.
Derek Sharp Jr Always free to ask me your design questions or anything you think you need a refresher on any of it. I cover a lot of the personal branding stuff designers need to focus on to scale in today's noisy marketplace and how you standout and don't compete with things like Fiverr.
I'm thinking about getting on meerkat or periscope as a bit of a "behind the scenes" while I set up and record videos. I've also thought of maybe doing a chill little show while I go through my morning routine.
I have a travel channel on RUclips so it will be great for broadcasting live from different locations, maybe a special event like Burning Man or something similar, assuming I have a reliable data connection and that they make an Android version soon.
i haven't really become part of the live game yet. The thing I think about it is that it will have to be content that i value more than whatever i'm doing at the moment to remember to watch it at a certain time or to drop what i'm doing to watch it. if it's something i can watch on my own time then i would definitely consume it. I would also probably create live content but not really sure of anything beyond that
QOTD: 1. Live streaming is very different from video, and the time commitment to broadcasting (I believe if you want to achieve success on the platform instead of having a portal to more content from you), televising a consistent show (4-5 times a week) that is in-depth with quality on whatever topic you want to talk about would be necessary. It would take a ton of work, but if you just want a portal -- I'd say televising short q&a's like Tim Ferriss would be good. There is probably more innovative ways to go about it, but for a start that would be a good way to soak your feet into the water.. For unknowns who are talented at live on the spot content, a full time show would be worth the risk in my opinion. 2. I'd dedicate 30 minutes a day for seeing what is working for people and what isn't. It wouldn't necessarily mean watching live, but finding stats and seeing who is getting them, what content they are releasing, and then watching a bit of it to get an idea of where live content on this online platform is heading to. (Since there is Periscope and Meerkat, maybe dividing that time up in 15 minutes each). Great show Gary, that bit on "One Great Piece of Content" Really puts things into perspective.
#QOTD 1: Definitely. I've been thinking about it quite often, actually, how I could bring this into all the things I do. If it takes off as well as I'm hoping, I really can see this revolutionizing the journalism industry. There are too many big fish owning all the networks, and for a rogue journalist to go out there and broadcast things without the overhead "censorship" going on, that's going to be HUGE. #QOTD 2: If it was in my genre of interest OR someone I found interesting, I would start allocating maybe 30 minutes to an hour on it. If it was really big, maybe two hours in a day once a week.
Gary, we've been live-streaming our Vlogs on Meerkat. As filmmakers, I think it'd be a great way to give audiences a sneak peek to live-stream while on the set of making a movie.
#QOTD: Part 1: Absolutely televise something on Meerkat and or Periscope. Have already done some radio interview stuff on meerkat. Part 2: Watching something live is very valuable. When the Ferguson stuff was happening I remember ***** covering what was happening live. I can't imagine if Meerkat or Periscope was around then what he could have done. It's all about real-time and not overly produced. But storytelling has to be great for me to watch.
QOTD: I am considering doing a live show for massage on Snapchat, just feels very candid and personal. I would give an hour or two at most to watching live tv on periscope or meerkat. One piece of content away... I like that. Thanks for telling it like it is, talent matters.
#QOTD I would stream any live event like my speaking engagement at PePCon this june, and probably will have someone stream that for me, I would also consider streaming a realtime art session of me working in Photoshop. #QOTD2 Maybe 1-3 hours in that time, but not dedicated attention, I'd be multi-tasking I never just consume as it is I always work while consuming.
Hey Gary, if you're wondering who that guy was at the end of your video giving you love at SXSW in the red jacket, that's me. thanks for the inspiration, keep pushing.
meerkat and periscope - have not looked into either been kicking around the idea of spreecast just becuase I know others on that platform which gives me a leg up on how it works so I could integrate in less time than researching these two outlets. Confession: even when I am on RUclips I am usually not watching, just listening but I like the option of clicking over from time to time. So I probably "listen" about an hour a day depending on the topic
I am trying to start a food blog so I would film myself cooking, but not a fancy cooking show style, just straight real life. I would only do this once every two weeks or so. I would only watch for no longer than an hour a day
I used to stream videogames daily until my phone tripod adapter broke. As far as consuming streaming, I pop on yours and Mark Bell's (from SuperTraining dat tv) from time to time, but not sure if I'd like to schedule in consumption of a daily stream lol
#QOTD P1 hell yeah! I can think of hundreds of great ways to use the platform. P2 I would devote as much time as traditional TV if the content was good. However, I would still need the ability to use some kind of second screen because I'm always Hustling!!
***** dude, that beard is going crazy damn it! ... I LIKE IT! Kick ass episode man! Loved the Periscope-Meerkat segment. #QOTD, PART1: I would televise, my companys products for @Joburgbrew and then events, talks, awesome stuff, maybe some live reviews of tech or geek stuff. I mean, how long is a piece of string, possibilities are unlimited now. PART2: I wouldn't, I record everything! Talk soon Gary! Keep kicking ass!
#QOTD part 1: No #QOTD part 2: I wouldn't allocate any time in my day to day. However, every year I take two weeks off of work to watch Wimbledon and if there were Q&As, training sessions, commentary from the coaches taking place on Meerkat or Periscope, then I'd watch.
Qotd I've streamed meerkat of our coffee biz during rush hour. Kind of fun but I see opportunity to link to an immediate purchase with a sense of urgency.
1. Yes, for sure, in the trench of the kitchen, showing recipes, craft cocktail recipes, all content driven to the end user with the direction back to where they can find my books and products 2. 3o-60 min a day but in my time cause im to busy 5am-1am...so it better be worth it 3. your boy still hasnt reached out to me to meet...its all good cause im to busy hustling son...haha fire it up!
#QOTD Part 1: The only televising I would do is BTS of a photo shoot, but that requires more consistent work. #QOTD Part 2: I do most of my watching in the evening, which is probably after live event stuff would occur that I'm interested in. So probably less than 1 hour at this time.
#QOTD #Part1 I would televise things on Meerkat, almost in the same way that I send things on Snapchat. But Meerkat feels like a platform, as least now, built for ppl/businesses with a large following. #Part2 I would spend a lot of time (an hour, maybe more) watching live streaming as long as the content was as good or better than where my attention would go otherwise (TV, internet surfing).
***** great episode again! Your fly higher and hustle harder than ever! Thabk you for that motivation! #QOTD1+2: I recently thought about streaming some sort of fitness/ workout videos live would be a cool thing so maybe I'm gonna get into that. I'd probably dedicate 1 hour to those formats but on the expense of youtube vids, so it shift my attention more away from youtube and more into live streaming content.:)
***** I would love to televise workouts and martial arts seminars on meerkat I believe it would extend the reach and benefit these types of events bring to people (meerkat would be a more personal platform then those home workout she's, especially being a live event). Depending on the value the meerkat event brings to me would depend on the time I spent watching it. For example wine (no offense) doesn't interest me so I wouldn't watch it. But anything to do with martial arts, fitness or business development. I would probably set aside 30 minutes for.
***** in a couple of months you will be looking like the white James Harden. Fear the Beard in Social! Has the beard helped you're b-ball game? The last 3 minutes when you are talking about Meerkat and Periscope were brilliant and it reminded me of the last couple pages in Crush It where you talk about future opportunities.
#QOTD, PART 1: Yes. A live version of our Printing education blog posts we have started this year #QOTD, PART 2: maybe an hour Great video, keep going! #safetyfirstwhat #AskGaryVee
#QOTD, PART 1: Yes, televise live educational experiences. #QOTD, PART 2: None right now, super focused on work, Its rare that I'm even on You Tube right now. That's why I value podcasts because I can do work and listen.
Wisdom: "You're always one great piece of content away from having your life change." #QOTD Response, PART 1: I can't see doing that in my situation, but I definitely think it has tremendous potential for a lot of businesses. #QOTD, PART 2: I would probably happily allocate two to three hours each day. But timing would be a major factor. For instance, your meerkat broadcasts normally hit during the peak of my business day, so I usually miss them because of other commitments. I had some major computer issues that took me 3 days to resolve, *****, so I'm late getting around to episodes 88,89 & 90. But the plus side is, I get to watch THREE today instead of only one! That takes a lot of the sting out of losing so much time.
#QOTD, part 1: I might, sounds intriguing, esp. scheduling type shows. #QOTD, part 2: I barely watch TV now so unless there's a must watch Meercat show, not much spontaneous watching. Still warming up to live broadcasting overall.
#QOTD I think local musicians with large regional followings could greatly benefit off live streaming concerts on Meerkat. People who couldn't make the drive to the show can watch it there!
Hey guys. QOTD1: Yes! I think "behind the scenes", new product showcases and even for my real estate clients "first look" type of thing. It just has to be well executed. QOTD2: 10-15 min. a day. I feel it demands your attention since you cant pause or teak a break without missing something, so not to long. That being said, it would be cool to pop in and out of a live stream from a car race or all day event that is on TV to get a behind the scenes look at things. Meerkat/periscope logo pops up with an "exclusive interview with a driver or musician for the next 5 min". I pretty much watch live sports with my phone in front of my face as it is. Formula 1 are you listening!!!
Mark Alousis Behind the scenes and first looks can be very good in that market. But I think you shouldn't limit that to live streaming. But I think a live stream and recording of an Open House could be very good to do in that market.
Is real estate a big market for you as a designer, and are you solo or do you have a small studio? I'm solo but I know I'm going to be building a small team over 2-5 years because I'm going to have to as things continue to scale.
+Roberto Blake, just checked out your stuff, nice! As for me, I'm solo. I've had the print/design/photo biz for about 10 years. Although I am at a crossroad as to what I want to do moving forward. I want out of the printing game but not sure of next steps. The research of social for my company has really got me interested in helping my current printing clients with some of their social media. Also, my sister is getting her real estate license soon and I want to be able to help her. There are so many agents that are not doing a very good job at the social aspect of things. That is why i am so excited for the live streaming angle.
Mark Alousis What I found is it's not so much getting out of the Print Game as much as getting your clients into the Branding Game. I oddly started win Web before Print believe it or not, but was technically doing Photo and Video and Illustration first and used Web to share that back when I was 14... that was 17 years ago in the age of AOL and dial up. I started making money at that by age 15-16. Went to college and got into the Print Game. Got hired as Web Designer, then went Print on the Agency side. Then went Marketing, then went solo all in on the Visual Branding game across, Web, Print, Video, Mobile and Social. I'd suggest that you just go deeper with their clients and shift them to less focus on print aside from what they need for Boomer and GenX demo, and get them to put focus on digital Visual Branding that scales.
#QOTD - Yes I think that is totally possible - I photograph MMA (the guys you like to see beating each other up) and see massive upside for this both free and paid. Granted the quility wont be super awesome, but certainly watchable. How much time would i spend watching- totally depends on the content. I think the challenge is keeping the subject either trending or at the top of peoples timelines to drive viewers.
Golf could be a very interesting experience on meerkat. Rather than curation of everyone on the course, I'd enjoy staying with one pair throughout their whole round.
QOTD: If I could find the right opportunity, I might televise consistently. With watching something live it would definitely be when I'm bored in the evening with nothing better to do.
#QOTD, PART 1: Yes. #QOTD, PART 2: It all depends on the value of the content. If it's a GV show, I will watch it (regardless of the length of the show). There's so much value to it that I will consider it as an investment of my time.
QOTD: Don't know if I would. I have to get over being self conscious about my looks. But I am recommending it to my client who is in entertainment. If the content is on point, at least 1.5 hours a day.
Victoria J It's one of the things I have constantly coach people on, the importance of putting themselves out there. I may need to do a video on it and on building confidence.
Roberto Blake I think you should and I think it's more about fear of rejection and being criticized. Maybe include tips for dealing with negativity and trolls. I've seen people's pics/videos be turned into cruel memes. So you need more than.confidence you also need thick skin lol. No one is exempt.
Victoria J This is absolutely true. I think sense of purpose is a big part of it. I think that knowing that the value you create is something that you feel is worth any crap you might have to take, really plays a role in the ability to take that risk. It's indexing on EMPATHY. Every time I put out a video (which is everyday) I'm setting myself up to get punched. Not everyone will agree with what I say, not everyone will like it, especially when I talk about things like education or passive income, the LinkedIn community interesting can be very harsh when you challenge "establishment" mentality where those things are concerned. So you have to decide if you have honestly have the capacity to create value for other people, and do you want to do so badly enough, do you care enough, to get punched in the face everyday for the next 5 or 10 years. Its a tough question, and for some people the answer will honestly be NO. I think of ways to help people get from NO, to YES.
#QOTD Part 1 - We would do a solid Q&A for anyone that wants to ask anoynymous questions about Real Estate. Also we'd consider live streaming develpment deals and building for our forward thinking clients that want the potential customers to feel like they have some insight to the process. #2 For fan interaction .The first tie we merekatted you you gave us a shoutout within the first 10 seconds and made me a believer for life. There's some more dilution with the amount of users- so mabye it'll go to a limited number of fans or subscription service?
***** Livestreaming is killing it for Q&A sessions and I think this is where things are heading. I also think realtime vlogging will become a thing! Especially if people like the VlogBrothers hop into it.
We are absolutely planning on making weekly streams on Meerkat and Perscope! As a lifestyle media company we have so much content we could produce and promote....exciting times indeed. ~ Nick T
#QOTD, PART 1: I'm thinking of 'Scoping my interviews over my shoulder while I mirror it on screen to monitor the chat in case someone has a good comment for the guest. #QOTD, PART 2: Right now? 7 minutes. There's nothing happening on either platform that's "must see" programming. I expect that eventually the 'scopes will be in-the-moment trivial asides like tweets are now. That you'll jump in if you can but it becomes a video tweet after the moment has past.
#QOTD : Can't think of anything I would want to "televise" off hand. But I could totally see myself spending 2-4 hours a day watching something interesting on these platforms.
i think yoga and other exercise would be good to livestream, with all the fitness celebrities popping up, working out "with them" would be cool. not sure about the mobile side tho, if you have to hold your phone the whole time like with snapchat. i'd allocate an hour
I would meerkat a photoshoot. Where i would take suggestions and explain what I'm doing. Also for the time i would pit for watching something live would be about an hour or and hour and a half.
In hindsight I can say that this is very true. It was one piece of content that lead to Creative Pro being interested in me writing for them, it was a RUclips video I did about Adobe InDesign. That lead to our relationship, and me being a paid writer for weekly content for their sites. That lead to other writing deals with Design Publications, Webinars and now some speaking engagements. Putting myself out there is something that has altered the course of my life and career tremendously over the last 18 months. Its' why I use my channel as a platform to encourage other people to Create Something Awesome and share it with the world, and give them ways to execute, whether its a tutorial video or a strategy or what to buy as a tool. I know it is that important because of the impact it has had on my life and the success stories I've gotten back from my subscribers and readers. I want to see a video dedicated to this topic! Then again maybe I should make one...
Its been at least a year and the I watch isn't as popular at scale. I feel its going to to take at least another 2-3 years before the "wow" factor of it comes in.
I like your idea about retail and Meerkat ***** as a local marketing professional I have thought about web shows, just like you mentioned in your show. You mentioned a QVC show. I have thought about, the weekend home showcase show with Realtors and Car shows with local dealerships. I really could see that kind of thing working. However, just like you mention, it seems to me it would work a lot better if it was more a RUclips platform vs a live Meerkat thing. I guess if my job was to create an auto show to do on the weekend live. I could still do that by showcasing one dealership. Where if it were RUclips I could showcase specific inventory the all dealerships are looking to move. Same with Realtors. I have also thought from a video standpoint creating a video "shopper" Instead of getting a newspaper that shows these few things that are for sale this week, creating a video where you are actually in the store with a sales person. I can see it with a live platform but it would be easier and look more "finished" if it were a RUclips channel There is such huge dynamic in video over print advertising. I mean I saw your TBT video on Facebook too, where you cold called the business about advertising on Wine Library. I think many people when they think advertising. They are thinking banner ads of some sort. A picture that drives traffic from a link. How much more power is in video... and I am sorry newspapers but there are just some things you just can't do. It is an awesome time to be a live Gary!
QOTD, Part 1: I would televise on meerkats or periscope depending on what content I'm putting out is desired most. QOTD, Part 2: The time I spend on them depends on who's streaming.
Question: I have recently started a Facebook thread with other people that have Facebook pages. I sell AVON and they sell other things like Tupperware, Essential oils ect. We go on each other's page and like/comment on post daily to help get our post seen without having to pay. The more action on a post the more Facebook will show it to people correct? Is this a good idea? Will it help gain exposure or just wasting time?
#QOTD Part 1: I think doing a live broadcast for service would be a good thing to try. Take orders for your business for delivery within the hour live... While putting out good content during the broadcast. #QOTD Part 2... We watch THIS show, right?
#QOTD Part 1 - Likely a stream on leadership or customer experience with live interaction #QOTD Part 2 - For watching, probably an hour Have fun at the draft - will be fun for part of it, but could see it turnng into a drool fest after that first series of picks. Side note ***** - time to trim that beard up! lol
#QOTD, PART 1: Would you "televise" anything on Meerkat or Periscope consistently? Could see doing a live podcast on something like this, as long as we could interact with the audience and they could interact with each other. #QOTD, PART 2: How much time in a 24-hour day would you allocate to watching something live on one of those platforms? Likely nothing live, I generally doing something more important and need to schedule my time. If I knew something amazing was coming up live I would watch it. Maybe 1-2 hours a week maximum.
I'd be willing to live stream things I do everyday like driving to and from work maybe share with the world opinions on daily events idont know that is a challenging question.
Happy Tax Day ***** . I would not televise anything consistently on Meerkat, although would watch good programming less than 1 hour a day watching Have a great day!
whose voice is that at 0:37... oh it's D-Rock... Yo, D-Rock! India is better? Welcome back India. #QOTD, PART 1: Would you "televise" anything on Meerkat or Periscope consistently? Define consistently.... Weekly sure.... I am a cub scout leader and a Scout Master and have weekly meetings. I might be willing to televise that (if I got the parental units permission to do so). I do Scratch programming with my son... I may be willign to televise that.... basically anything that I do that has a fairly good repetition Id televise. On the up side televising my boy scout stuff would get me to up my game since its being televised. #QOTD, PART 2: How much time in a 24-hour day would you allocate to watching something live on one of those platforms? Now? 0% of my time. I choose what I do when (other than the honey-do list I get from the wife) and think I wont make time for something unless it was something that was at a consistent time that I can plan for. ATM those seem random in their timing.... I am not down with that. So unless these random shows can be pulled by me on demand.... my demand... I have no interest.
#QOTD PART 1: Would you "televise" anything on Meerkat or Periscope consistently? Not at the moment. Main reason... South Africa's Data costs aren't there yet, so it's very difficult to get my head around live streaming regularly. But if I DID have good amazing internet, I am sure I would stream a good couple of things. #QOTD, PART 2: How much time in a 24-hour day would you allocate to watching something live on one of those platforms? No more than 10 mins. I watch very little TV and RUclips videos these days. And when I do, I schedule it. Be it for playback in the car or at gym etc. Life's too hectic to try and squeeze live stuff in right now. Having said that... it does depend on WHAT is being streamed. At the moment, the only live stuff I watch is sport. Golf, Rugby, Soccer, Cricket. That's it. And most certainly not all of them! Only for my teams & players that I support.
***** #QOTD, PART 1: Would you "televise" anything on Meerkat or Periscope consistently? Highly unlikely. #QOTD, PART 2: How much time in a 24-hour day would you allocate to watching something live on one of those platforms? Like all time investment; it would have to interest me greatly (ie. your London keynote a couple of weeks ago).
I started using Meerkat to promote Dylan Dunlaps street performance in Burbank and when I showed him that 12 ppl on the internet watched him he freaked out. Now we're working together streaming him perform and do Q&A's and we average 350 people total a stream.I also put on brazil superstar Claudia Leitte on to Meerkat who has 10.9million followers. Meerkat will be soon taken over by Brazil. All of this because I heard about Meerkat through #AskGaryVee lol FOLLOW US ON MEERKAT @DylanJDunlap KEEP UP THE AWESOME CONTENT AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!

QOTD - I would not spend any daily time on live streaming. I would check in for special events however.
Winner! Excellent show. Your answer about your visions for live streaming were outstanding. Really great job! Thanks my dude.
Yours,
B.S.
This may be my new favorite episode so far. Chocked full of valuable content...and challenges! Well done!
Great episode ***** - love the one piece of content stream of consciousness - well done :)
#AskGaryVee
Dude...
I'm totally feeling what you're talking about at 9:46 about that one piece of content.
I think that from a production standpoint that I've seen things from your content that are going to help with the new "Show" I'm working on. ;)
So I think there is value there especially for people starting anything new.
I'd also do Q&A sessions as well
Part 2: And depending on what it is, I'd spend 1 hour. Would probably be multitasking for a good portion of it.
QOTD Answer - well I dont have either meeerkat or periscope yet. But I usually have something live or recorded going on my second monitor or tablet as I work for background. i would say 40% of my time.
Caught this on #Meerkat yesterday but seeing the edited version reinforces the messages. (and then the podcast for the city walks..) Great show again!
QOTD #1 Yes I would as a freelance designer I sometimes feel like my clients don't understand the "work" it goes into creating their flier and / or dvd cover work. Meerkat isn't on android yet so i haven't looked into it as a opinion
QOTD #2 As far as watching goes , like others im huge on behind the scenes stuff .
Derek Sharp Jr
Always free to ask me your design questions or anything you think you need a refresher on any of it. I cover a lot of the personal branding stuff designers need to focus on to scale in today's noisy marketplace and how you standout and don't compete with things like Fiverr.
Roberto Blake Will do good Sir Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to reply back.
I'm thinking about getting on meerkat or periscope as a bit of a "behind the scenes" while I set up and record videos. I've also thought of maybe doing a chill little show while I go through my morning routine.
Duff The Psych ASMR Great idea! I would be interested in watching it. Hope you can make that happen.
I have a travel channel on RUclips so it will be great for broadcasting live from different locations, maybe a special event like Burning Man or something similar, assuming I have a reliable data connection and that they make an Android version soon.
TravelingRobert I think that livestreaming can be tremendous for you!
TravelingRobert You have a very great channel. Very Unique. Good luck brother.
GrowthTV Thanks!
TravelingRobert yea that sounds good to me
TravelingRobert Oh that would be cool!
I would televise myself preparing my meals. I would spend anywhere from 10 to an hour depending on the content.
i haven't really become part of the live game yet.
Great episode Gary loved it! , loving the beard too ;) haha, finished reading Crush it a couple days ago, made a start on Jab... !
Carl Stacey It's a really great book.
Roberto Blake qotd1... I like the instances you provided as televised options... those are ones I may try to watch
*****
Thanks Paul!
Roberto Blake Have a great event too in June ;)
Roberto Blake A speaking event would be cool.
***** thanks Evan!
Love the idea of selling on Meerkat! #QOTD 2 I'd spend 1-2 hours if thought provoking and useful content. Love the wine idea, Gary:)
So I probably "listen" about an hour a day depending on the topic
that cut from black and white to color at the start was hot!
Yes I would do live stuff, did a couple of tests.
I would watch a couple of hours, but not necessarily 1 live event.
QOTD Yep, I want to periscope while doing game design. 1-3 if it's something I can watch and I it's not something that I have to watch every week.
#QOTD P1 hell yeah! I can think of hundreds of great ways to use the platform. P2 I would devote as much time as traditional TV if the content was good. However, I would still need the ability to use some kind of second screen because I'm always Hustling!!
I would televise occasionally and most likely consume on a sporadic basis depending on what was on.
#QOTD part 1: No
#QOTD part 2: I wouldn't allocate any time in my day to day.
1. Yes, for sure, in the trench of the kitchen, showing recipes, craft cocktail recipes, all content driven to the end user with the direction back to where they can find my books and products
2. 3o-60 min a day but in my time cause im to busy 5am-1am...so it better be worth it
3. your boy still hasnt reached out to me to meet...its all good cause im to busy hustling son...haha fire it up!
A live version of our Printing education blog posts we have started this year
#QOTD, PART 2: maybe an hour
Great video, keep going!
Wisdom: "You're always one great piece of content away from having your life change."
#QOTD Response, PART 1: I can't see doing that in my situation, but I definitely think it has tremendous potential for a lot of businesses.
Absolutely Roberto. Live streaming in addition to all of the other good stuff would be killer.
Great show Gary!
#QOTD Part 1: I would like to stream pre-game warmups at athletic events.
#QOTD Part 2: Maybe 30 minutes
Golf could be a very interesting experience on meerkat. Rather than curation of everyone on the course, I'd enjoy staying with one pair throughout their whole round.
QOTD: If I could find the right opportunity, I might televise consistently. With watching something live it would definitely be when I'm bored in the evening with nothing better to do.
All about this episode!
Victoria J It's something most people struggle with!
Roberto Blake good to know I'm not alone.
Victoria J
It's one of the things I have constantly coach people on, the importance of putting themselves out there.
Victoria J
This is absolutely true.
Roberto Blake I agree!
***** yea dude that sounds good, you could Fb dark post the announcement to ppl that are looking for real estate in certain areas. would watch
We are absolutely planning on making weekly streams on Meerkat and Perscope! As a lifestyle media company we have so much content we could produce and promote....exciting times indeed. ~ Nick T
DudeMeUp That makes perfect sense for the space you guys are playing in! Also consider simultaneously doing a Twitter chat to up the engagement level!
#QOTD 1 Yes, me painting. 2 I´m not really allocating any time.
im all in on #neckbeard , always have been.
Allan Cordon Terry White recently did one on Periscope and it was very cool to watch! It wasn't long maybe 20 minutes, but it was awesome!
Allan Cordon yup that sounds good. espcially if the subject had lots of fans you could get some real traction
*****
Agreed! marketing in advance is definitely the way to go on something like that
1 piece of content away from changing your life forever.....nuff said GaryVee, Gracias Amigo! #the50yroldman
Can the Vaynernation get a clip from approx. 09:48 to 12:13 about how one piece of content can change your life? super #shareable thanks!
Nicole Huska Nice request!
Nicole Huska I agree...very quotable
Nicole Huska Yes!
Nicole Huska I totally agree with you on the shareablity of that clip. It struck me like a bolt of lightning when he said it.
Ya, as a chef, I'd love to do like a daily segment.... be cool to get the same time going every day, and get a following thstvway.....
I can see it with a live platform but it would be easier and look more "finished" if it were a RUclips channel
There is such huge dynamic in video over print advertising.
#QOTD: Sports yes, entertainment maybe.
#SOTD "You're always one great piece of content away from having your life change." 9:53
#QOTD Part 1: I think doing a live broadcast for service would be a good thing to try. Take orders for your business for delivery within the hour live... While putting out good content during the broadcast.
#QOTD Part 2... We watch THIS show, right?
he look badass with the beard
#QOTD Part 1 - Likely a stream on leadership or customer experience with live interaction
#QOTD Part 2 - For watching, probably an hour
Have fun at the draft - will be fun for part of it, but could see it turnng into a drool fest after that first series of picks.
#QOTD Part 1: Yes Part 2: Five to ten minutes at the most.
I'd be willing to live stream things I do everyday like driving to and from work maybe share with the world opinions on daily events idont know that is a challenging question.
Happy Tax Day ***** .
I would not televise anything consistently on Meerkat, although would watch good programming
less than 1 hour a day watching
Have a great day!
Everything smart- phones, TV, watch, fridge but the people hmm not so smart lol
#BeardMan Love it.
whose voice is that at 0:37... oh it's D-Rock...
30 - 60 if it was useful information

QOTD: More a consumer than a producer. About 3 hours. Yeah, I need a life.
#QOTD, PART 1: Last minute sales on an event.
#QOTD, PART 2: None at this point, I need to see the value first.
#QOTD Personally I don't think so, I just want to focus more on the moment.
#QOTD I think I would spend 15 ~ 20 min a day for really good content.
I'am not a fan of meerkat and/or periscope not as practioner neither as listening/wachting.
Please don't be the guy who boos the Jet's pick, I hate when people boo draft picks.
Meerkat is only for iphones ...

#QOTD, PART 1: Would you "televise" anything on Meerkat or Periscope consistently?
Highly unlikely.
#QOTD, PART 2: How much time in a 24-hour day would you allocate to watching something live on one of those platforms?
Like all time investment; it would have to interest me greatly (ie. your London keynote a couple of weeks ago).
QOTD: Nothing. None.
All of this because I heard about Meerkat through #AskGaryVee lol FOLLOW US ON MEERKAT @DylanJDunlap
KEEP UP THE AWESOME CONTENT AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!
Part 1: No
