you prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Phillip Darwin thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
My wife picked up the album up in my local thrift store recently . Pure luck . Someone donated it framed with the back showing . The wife read a few lines and thought I would like it . Ha ha ha I looked it up and it was about the first Chess blues album because at the time they were putting out singes for juke boxes and yes it is great as are many of Junior wells albums . Fantastic musician and the voice is to die for .
The 40 thumbs down are people who either didn't have a good connection or are deaf. Please God, let their hearing and strong connection be restored. :)
I knew Junior, one birthday of his at the Checkerboard he had to be helped to the stage, as he was celebrating heavily and he laid down some of the heaviest blues I've ever heard !!!
I’m jealous. You’re very lucky. Junior and Buddy Guy especially are two of the few artists that can make the hair on the back of my neck stand up immediately & bring tears immediately. Especially Buddy’s voice
I remember seeing Junior Wells at Rosas Lounge in Chicago 20+yrs ago. During intermission he went behind the bar and poured shots for himself and talked to the patrons. He had a liking for my girl friend and was hitting on her. The next set he started playing and was completely hammered. At the end he clonked one of the horn players in the head with his microphone. This started an argument on the stage. The band kept playing. At the end of the set he crashed into the drums set, out cold. The band carried him out the back door. That was the end of the show. It was one of my favorite shows I have ever seen!!!
A fantastic clip of the song. I have been listening to this album for over 40 years, is a must have for any blues fan. The album "Alone and Accoustic" with Buddy Guy is another must have.
I've had callouses on my left hand fingertips for over 50 years now, and it's all because of "It's my Life Baby" featuring Junior and Buddy. Otis is one thing, but Junior and Buddy, well that's a different story...................
My dad went to UChicago from ‘76-80 and some of his fondest memories were going to blues concerts around the city. He still has junior wells cds everywhere, not to mention the countless bob dylan, greatful dead and bruce springsteen cds scattered around our house. I get really jealous of his era sometimes.
Meanwhile somhere in Louisiana swamps. I'm an old polack and I don't necessarily get familiar with troubled history of the US, but this song brings me back, even that I've never been there.
What a treasure! Saw him when I was a kid - so drunk he couldn't play. But BG was great. Also saw Otis Rush, and was so drunk he could only get through 3 songs. So sad. But this??? This is incredible!!
Timothy S yeah that's kind of what I remember about Junior when he would play at Biddy Mulligans on the Northside. A few songs was all he was good for but as clips like this demonstrate, he was hugely talented and a Chi-town treasure.
Happy Birthday to the Late Junior Wells his Birth Card is Ten of Club Rest in Peace ✌️🕊️ Merry Christmas ⛄🎄 Blessings and Hugs 💖💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕!
Legends. Got to see a lot of great blues artists in San Francisco in the late 50's at the Fillmore and area clubs. Little Junior Parker, Bobby Blue Bland , etc.
Listen y'all, let's just lay back and have ourselves some fun with them good time blues that my brotha Junior be's playin. Show some Southern Hospitality to each other, y'all act like y'all ain't got no sense. Lovin' everybody is what it's all bout! Life is good! -Reverend Delta Slim
This looks like mid-50s, a fairly young Junior Wells, fantastic! I love the Wells album with songs from 1953-4 including this one, it's called "Blues Hit Big Town," recorded with the Aces and highly recommended. Different feel from the later work with Buddy Guy.
Hi Joey, I'm Jere Scruggs. Speaking of the attire, Junior once told me he didn't like the pimp clothes his managers were providing in the 70s for him to wear. So I think this might be early 70s late 60s. ]
Hoodoo Man Blues Junior Wells. Met Junior Wells in 1995 at the Red Lion bought this album in Amsterdam and listened a whole lot to this beautiful album on vinyl released in 1965: Junior Wells Hoodoo Man Blues. ao.with Buddy Guy. One Love.
This video is exceptional. Hodooman Blues is for me the best song by Junior Wells. Here with Otis Rush, guitar, Fred below, drums and I presume Jack Myers, bass.
+Hervé Desfontaines There's a story about this Sonny Boy Williamson song and Junior Wells' relation to it. My comment will give you the outline. I've seen this reported in a few places, pretty sure one of them was Buddy Guy's fantastic autobiography. It was 1953. "Hoodoo Man Blues" was Junior Wells' first record. He accompanied the record company owner to visit a DJ (don't remember the company, the exec's or the DJ's names at the moment), to ask the DJ to to play it on the air. As an enticement, the record company exec put $15 in the cover. The DJ got angry at the $15 (apparently $15 wasn't enough, because this couldn't have been the first time the DJ received a gift like that), smashed the record on the floor and told them to clean it up and get out. Junior Wells was traumatized by the experience and didn't want to play the tune again. Bob Koester (of Delmark) managed to get him to play it in 1965 with Buddy Guy's help. If it's one of your favorites, I'm pretty sure you know the version on the Delmark album that bears its name. What a tune, what an album!
Junior did well as a front man and played with a real blues feeling. No comparison with Little Walter who gave the harmonica it's electric sax-like sound.
I think it's from the "concert" film "The American Folk Blues Festival," shot in Europe in the mid-60s. Features an amazing lineup of blues giants, totally worth renting; it may be available for streaming on N**flix. I think I got it by mail back when I still subscribed to that service. Fred Below (in this clip), Sonny Boy Williamson, Willie Dixon, Sunnyland Slim, Otis Rush, Big Mama Willie Mae Thornton, John Lee Hooker, LITTLE EFFING WALTER, HOWLIN' WOLF . . . blues heaven!
Actually found this here Gem 💎,, because of that show “Daria” from the 90’s on mtv believe it or not lmao. Thank God I found it too,, absolutely fell in love with this specific version of this song.
Met him in the 70's i played harp. He told me Not bad for a white boy. Just need some tuning up. HA! I know. 60 now. Still do. 60 now. Might need viagra to.
For any of you who are not sure (duh!) who the guitar player is, go to Otis Rush on YouTuibe and look at "I Can't Quit You". It was clearly recorded at the same venue/show as this song was. Of course, those of you who don't know who Otis is also likely think "I Can't Quit You" was written by Page/Plant.
The head deacon would be junior wells, the congregation might as well put money in his plate then the other plates, bldg fund, blues tithing, church van and so on, thr remaining plates.
There was a good audience for Junior, for Otis, and for all the working bluesmen, but it was a tavern audience, not a huge concert one. As the streets got rougher, so did the taverns, and things were bad. But to say that these giants weren't appreciated, or had no audience here is foolish. They all did/do pretty well on personal appearances and record/tape/cd sales here in the Chi.
This should be put in a time capsule and shot into space so that future generations and aliens know we once had soul. RIP Amos Wells
RIP Junior Wells
fendermon I agree 100% with you!!!
This has already been added to the National Recording Registry's list of sound recordings that are culturally, historically or aesthetically important, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States.
Yes! But unfortunately, it would have shown an audience of squares.
For real!
Somebody should comment on the classic filming of this great video. If nobody else it’s me.
I met both Otis Rush and Junior Wells. This is real Black Chicago Blues. No need for over distortion. Its all about Soul.
you prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Ibrahim Alvin instablaster =)

@Phillip Darwin It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
@Ibrahim Alvin You are welcome :)
Junior's Hoodoo Man Blues album may be the best blues album ever. If not, it's damn close.
Yeah man
Así es ..!
No argument here.
My wife picked up the album up in my local thrift store recently . Pure luck . Someone donated it framed with the back showing . The wife read a few lines and thought I would like it . Brilliant for sure.👍
Doesn't hurt to have Otis Rush playing guitar with you...... wow !
Really doesnt
thanks, i was trying to find who was the guitar man
The licks being laid down by Otis Rush are incredible . . .
I thought that looked like Otis Rush
If you truly love Rock’n roll you got to love the blues
the blues can't die or have a specific time. this song is just as good and valid as the day it was first performed
Rest assured Louie, the Blues will never die as long as I'm still alive.
The 40 thumbs down are people who either didn't have a good connection or are deaf. Please God, let their hearing and strong connection be restored. :)
Amen!!🥳
HAAAAA , preach for the hard of hearing ! loved that comment !! gave me a 🤭 chuckle..this is a blues man blues !!...dang excellent !
Amen 😆
They were Hoodoo'ed.
Junior has always been a major influence on my life. He was truly one of the Greatest Bluesmen of all time. Period!
Heard this song on Idiocracy and it led me down a rabbit hole of discovering Blues music. Still one of my favorites in 2023.
Chicago blues is a combination of pain and beauty
I knew Junior, one birthday of his at the Checkerboard he had to be helped to the stage, as he was celebrating heavily and he laid down some of the heaviest blues I've ever heard !!!
Sometimes it be's that way! Wish I was there to be touched by the magic!
I’m jealous. You’re very lucky. Junior and Buddy Guy especially are two of the few artists that can make the hair on the back of my neck stand up immediately & bring tears immediately. Especially Buddy’s voice
JUNIOR WELLS GENIUSZ GENIUSZ GENIUSZ nad GENIUSZAMI KOSMOS KOCHANI na zawsze dziękuję BARDZO i MIŁOŚĆ ☮️ POKÓJ MUZYKA tak
started listen to Junior Wells today September 30th 2023 after his hit messin‘ with the kid i want to hear more of him Long live Rock’n’Roll

Junior Wells is the definition of cool
"Cool recognize Cool in the back main"
backstretch! about Otis Rush for years and just recently became acquainted with Junior Wells. Damn! What a special cat!
Doesnt matter how much i hear i could just cry for these old players
I saw Mr. Wells much later in his life. He was a skilled musician and a dynamic performer. He and Buddy Guy together.
Damn what combo!! Just got into blues about 5 or 6 years ago. I'm 42, can't believe all classic music I was missing!!
Listen to John Lee Sonny boy Williamson's original
...and his hair was perfect...
A fantastic clip of the song. I have been listening to this album for over 40 years, is a must have for any blues fan. The album "Alone and Accoustic" with Buddy Guy is another must have.
I actually prefer this version over that one. more soul
I've had callouses on my left hand fingertips for over 50 years now, and it's all because of "It's my Life Baby" featuring Junior and Buddy. Otis is one thing, but Junior and Buddy, well that's a different story...................

Odds are pretty good that we spent a lot of time in the same clubs.
He made Sonny Boy Williamson ( the original) smile down from the heavens
awsome, otis and junior............, thanks for posting
This was recorded when the blues was The Blues. this is goooooooood~
Superb performance by a master. His singing is so unique. He RAPS those words together so easily..... wowee.
Junior Wells is fantastic, WONDERFUL VOCAL.
Just discovered and fell in love with this song and singer after watching 60's music weekend, he's a bad, bad man!😇💗🥳
WOWOOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!! Otis & Junior together!!! Does it get much better than this?!>>......Pure heaven....!
Meanwhile somhere in Louisiana swamps. I'm an old polack and I don't necessarily get familiar with troubled history of the US, but this song brings me back, even that I've never been there.
YOU CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS.....at all.
What counts here is voice and inner talent! No technology!!!
Junior was a God in the Olympus of R'n'R and in the Paradise of Blues as well
What a treasure! Saw him when I was a kid - so drunk he couldn't play. But BG was great. Also saw Otis Rush, and was so drunk he could only get through 3 songs. So sad. But this??? This is incredible!!

When off of the road in the 70's, Junior led the incredible house band at Theresa's Lounge. The cover was $1
Awesome video, thanks for posting it and sharing!
I had the pleasure of seeing this man on numerous occasions, all I can say is WOW!
The epitome of raw musical perfection - regardless of genre - a flawless gem, its lustre will never fade.
Your entire statement is insulting.
He is amazing!
@@ririhope2672 why ?
Sweeeet! Junior Wells and Otis Rush. Can't get any better!
I love Junior Well, I love Buddy Guy and I love Otis Rush!!!
JWells is one of the great blues musicians. A wonderfull song. Also Otis Rush gave another taste to this song.

early 60s berlin germany i am thinking on this cut
Junior Wells aged so fast. Such a haunting voice. I saw him with Ronnie Earl in Boston. But he spoke from a certain place.
Junior was magic, man!

Quite possibly my favorite thing on RUclips going on 4years now. 🎶🖤
That's what's up! It is the most powerfully soulful blues song I ever heard. I still get goosebumps when I hear it.
Otis Rush is laying down some great rhythm guitar of this one...
Ricky Muse it’s BUDDY
got to meet junior wells when he played with buddy guy. we were at a blues show in providence, rhode island.......and we were backstage.
One Love.

Junior can be aa very subtle singer. Very nice.
Junior did well as a front man and played with a real blues feeling. No comparison with Little Walter who gave the harmonica it's electric sax-like sound.
May God bless you Junior, you were so kind and soulful!!!
far beyond cool.
Junior was a gangsta pure and simple look at his rendition at the Montreax Jazz festival in 1974 I think that may have been his best performance
Real awesome his music will be go on!
