Good video Bandit, I'm sure glad you could grabbed another load, gidder done... Beautiful scenery as usual. Your so lucky most of the time. Just love your videos, be safe, take care, i even eatch your old videos all the time.
This is very true about not getting some pay even minimum wage for your 8 hours sleep if you are company driver. Im a retired firefighter (also drove truck on the side) i got paid overnight even if we didnt get a call which was rare. Bottom line if your required to be there working you should be paid. Have great day except for gorden food.😊
Hundred percent should be getting paid every minute you spend inside or around the truck. I am not sure how some of this stuff is legal to be honest with you.
Yes sir, get R done, Hey Buddy, Thanx for the ride from Gordon shit show services, down into S. Carolina, for sure some beautiful scenery to watch.. Bbrrrttttt.. Appreciate the work and time you put in for us, to record, upload the videos that you do !! Is your drone out of service, hopefully not to long. Always got awesome footage from it.. I just came across this video 35 minutes ago, so I'm behind the 8 ball. Enjoy home time, stay safe out there, keep big blue between the mayo & the mustard... Looking forward to the next ride..
We have some grocery distribution centres here in Ontario Canada: 1. Sobeys Distribution in Whitby 2. Loblaws in Cambridge & Ajax 3. Metro in Etobicoke BRUTAL!
Seems like every grocery warehouse sucks. But unfortunately, we have to go there. If I put all of them on, do not go there list I won’t have any places left to go. So I guess we’ll just have to roll with the punches.
I pulled a load for Walmart with 3 drops at the stores & when I called the 1st store they told me they would take it off so I got their & checked in I was dead tired so I laid down I did feel someone get on the trailer before I fell asleep I woke up 3 hours later & looked in the trailer nothing had been done they said I would have to bring it to the door then they would get it & no lumpers so I took the trailer to a drop yard hooked to an empty & called dispatch for another load let someone else worry about it 🙃
I hear what you saying about shifting. Not using the clutch definitely saves wear on the cluth linkage and pressure plate. Another thing I do is not to use the clutch brake unless I'm setting still and just putting truck into gear to start from being completely still. Protect that clutch brake and the way you do that is know where to stop the depth when depressing the clutch.
Definitely gotta do everything in your power to make things last for you for a long time. Buddy of mine had a clutch go out Friday in Springfield, Illinois and it’s gonna be about $5000 to repair. A lot of money.
Yeah, that 2 or more hours is an option for companies to use for the sleeper birth split too, you could end up potentially working a 24 hour shift, regardless it does happen, especially with companies whom utilize employees for the sole purpose of babysitting your ELD.
Nice to see some backroads of SC. My auntie lifes there, not far from ur deliveryn´ point. Man, I gotta get over there and visit her and all other members....33 years not seen them 😢
Hello Bandit "" another great ride ' sucks that you lost that load , but before you left Gordon's you had another load booked " way to getter her done ' Buddy. Keep on Trucking 👍
I had to load booked day earlier but they could not load because they ran out of power. So as soon as they said, they ran out of power. I got on the board and I found another one.
Yup, long haul company drivers with some of the companies I drove for, you only start getting paid to load/unload after 2 hours and no pay for sleeping in the truck, UNLESS the shipper is telling you the load is not ready and you need to do a layover, and even then it has to be approved by the company. You get screwed regardless. That's why I love being local and getting paid by the hour. I can lazy around all day in my truck getting to places and I still get paid for the amount of hours I work. I never even switch my duty status for off duty while getting/loaded and unloaded to save my hours. I stay On duty and driving till my 10-12 hrs is up then I log off
I don't know where you're heading this week but this week I'm heading to Indiana I'm on the east of Kansas City Missouri and probably be in Indiana Tuesday night hopefully brother Wednesday delivery😊
Thanks for mentioning that you float cuz I've been wondering and seeing if your left leg moves 😂 I drove a straight 10 freightliner and actually learned how to float by sheer accident 😂 never done a 13sp tho
I totally learned by accident as well. 13 speed is just like 10 except you have that splitter on the side. I like 13 speed better, especially going up hill.
Hey bandit question i notice you haul a lot of loads to the south east part of the country with your new reefer do ever go to the southwest or northwest? Or you prefer down south?
I don’t go west of Denver. But I might if I ever get a good load. Would love to go through Wyoming and up to Washington state. I live in Missouri so I like to stay close to home as much as possible.
I’ve got a 2000 Volvo VLN. I’m going to put “I have no flip flops” above fire extinguisher inside. It is all I could afford. Not what I wanted, but what I needed.
That is a great truck, buddy. I wish I never bought this thing either. Should’ve kept my Coronado. Older trucks are a lot better than newer trucks.. What kind of engine is in it?
@@GimpyExpressIt’s more important to make money than look good my friend. You have a good track right there especially if it’s got Detroit or Cummins n14
I understand your issues through my son with the system. My son has been a broker for years and takes care of his truckers & understands. He now works for a corporate shipper & is trying to teach them the realities. I think a broker should ride with people like you for a week or two to understand reality on the road.
There are definitely some good honest brokers out there. But some of these other ones are just nasty people to work with. Your son seems to be one of the good ones and that’s definitely appreciated.
North Carolina is beautiful even the women!!!!! I was with heartland express in 2000 an broke down in Fayetteville nc. Truck was in shop 4days i met a gal while there an married 6 months later.
Oh brother, let me tell you. I went to some dog food place in Garland, TX., and the broker warned me that the check in lady hates life. I’m being nice. I backed in and had to stand on the dock. It was 106 degrees and humid. They brought out two pallets and took a half hour break. After six pallets I told her to come get me when they had the load staged. I pulled out on the street and went to bed. They got me about twenty minutes later and had the whole load staged. They only do that because they hate drivers. I’ve never gone back to a poor (stifled language) place again.
awesome video you have me laughing i have question you said you never use you clutch to shift gears and how do you know when to use the clutch and when you shift in all those gears how do you use them going up hills down hills and on a straight run i hear you click something when you shift i enjoy you shifting gears and last watch out for those revenue collectors lol
Thank you very much, buddy. I only use the clutch to takeoff from a stop. Then I just float the gears. You just follow your RPMs and you know when it’s time to change the gear. Switches are high and low and one on the side is a splitter. So basically on low side, you have five gears and then if you want to get it into sixth gear, you have to flip this switch up so that it goes into a high side. After you get it into high side, you use this red switch on the side to split the gears. I will explain little bit better in one of my videos.
I use to deliver a lot to the food warehouses, and they are bastards to get you unloaded. I once went to the docks along the water to load, they refuse to unload anybody who isn't in the Unions and an independent trucker, they hated us.
Who EVER STARTED AFTER 2 HRS NEEDS A POWER SLAP INTO LAST WEEK I KNOW YA DONT WANT TO STAND AT THE DOOR DOCK **BUT** IF YA TELL THEM IM PULLIN THIS TRAILER AN IM MAKING SURE MYSELF ITS LOADED RITE. BOOM. DONE. IF NOT THEN THEY TAKE THERE TIME AN LOOSE LOAD
Unfortunately, none of these places will let you load or unload yourself. It would be a lot better if we could do it ourselves. Used to be able to unload at Aldi‘s and Dollar General but not anymore.
