- It has been a couple years since I last showed my King Kong collection, and it has changed a lot!
So, by popular demand, here is my current King Kong collection!
I have more finished kits and I put in some new shelves! Check it out!

The 1933 King Kong was the "Epic Star Wars," especially special effects wise, of its time! Beautiful film!

It was indeed. The Star Wars or Jurassic Park of its day. My grandmother was born in the early 1920s and was about twelve years old when it first came out. She watched Kong with me one time when I was a kid. She talked about how scared she was when she saw it on the big screen. She also said that she loved Bruce Cabot, who was considered a heartthrob at the time.
The 76 Kong is still my favorite. In regards to his look.

Fantastic collection! I'm surprised you don't have the Sideshow 1933 Kong Armature replica. It's truly amazing!
That does not appeal to me much because I like King Kong and am impressed with stop motion artistry but I would not want to display the armature unless it had the hair and skin and looked like Kong in the movie.
Fantastic collection! I can't stop looking at the large bust over your right shoulder, the repro of the giant head they did for the movie! I am in awe! I must share this, I was fortunate enough in 2006 to go to Bob Burn's home in L.A. and got to see in person his original Kong Armature from the 1933 movie! It was a high point of my life and I will never forget it! I had made it to the top of the Empire State Building in 1987 also, so I kinda have lived the Kong experience. I just don't have your memorabilia! What a fantastic room! I appreciate your sharing it!

@@LesWalker2023 I have quite a few 76 Kong kit buildups, depends on your budget, but there may be something that would be a fit for you. I will check your YT channel and watch for it!
Great collection. The 1933 KING KONG is my favorite movie of all time. None of the remakes or spinoffs come close.😊

That is an amazing collection you have. Most all of us Kong lovers would like to have even a couple of those 33 models. I always thought of it as looking for the gorilla of my dreams. Pardon the hokey comment, but its true.

Your Kong with the fur, at the altar, is exactly how I pictured what the King Kong Escapes Kong could, would, and should have looked like. Just a row of teeth between the upper fangs and WOW what a Kong that would have been.
Yes, I agree it would have been great if the Toho Kongs would have been a bit more like the original, or maybe just a bit better live action depiction of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon it was meant to represent!
@@legrandzilla Many of your 1933 Kongs seem to have the look of what Escapes should have had. The ones with the brown fur and tannish brown skin.
2005 Kong will always be my dude! But design wise, I'd say the Joe Devito King Kong is my favorite, with Peter Jackson's being my second.
Though I must say I also love the 2024 design! The perfect blend of man and ape! He kind of looks like a kaiju mangani ape!
i'd be so worried stuff would fall! i've had some expensive items fall from shelves over time, it is heart breaking

I love your collection and your artistry. I love the 1976 Kong poster figure where he's crushing the jet but I couldn't see it very well. Nevertheless it looks just like the poster too bad he doesn't have a foot on the twin towers. But I suppose it would be difficult to attain now days. I served aboard an Aircraft carrier USS GEORGE WASHINGTON CVN 73 and I was a medic in New York on September 11th 2001 and I would fully still want the 76 poster King Kong to be standing on the towers. So I just thought I'd say so sense I was there that day and I noticed you had one.

Thanks, I am currently selling a lot of my collection. I don't really collect X-Plus figures, only kits, but I do have a Kong Skull Island Deforeal I hope to sell.

What’s really interesting about the 1933 film is it was the 1st film to promote another product which happened to be the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. The building was pretty much vacant at the time and with the extreme success of the movie, the building was made famous and this was because of the genius of MERIAN C COOPER and WILLIS O’ BRIAN who inspired EVERYONE involved in the Film Industry including EIJI TSUBURAYA who would later go on to create GOJIRA 🎉
